When I made an appt to diagnose my AC, I was told it would be $354 b/c cost of freon has gone up, and this is the cost just to diagnose, not actually fix, the AC. When I dropped off my car and met with would be $354 b/c cost of freon has gone up, and this is the cost just to diagnose, not actually fix, the AC. When I dropped off my car and met with the service rep, he said it would be $599. When I told him I'd received a quote of $354 over the phone, he shook his head and held firm that this would cost $599. I had to sign a "promissory note," which listed the price as $180, but when I pointed this out, the service guy crossed it out and wrote $599. I called a different Honda dealer in Portland to see what their price was for the exact same service and they said "185.00." I asked them to explain the process to me to be sure it was the exact same service and it was. In other words, Ron Tonkin Honda was trying to charge me an extra $400. This happened on July 3. I left with my car and found an independent shop that could do the work--diagnose AND fix my car--for $875 total. More

After supporting Ron Tonkin Honda and being a loyal customer for nearly 50 years we were terribly dismayed by the poor service received on 6/21. We have left messages trying to reach the Service Manager and they don't even value our business enough to return our calls. My elderly mother had an appointment and asked for a tire rotation and a new battery on a car she had bought from Ron Tonkin. After waiting for 3 1/2 hours they had charged her for numerous things but sent her off WITHOUT installing the new battery. I hate that elderly people are mistreated and taken advantage of in this way. What happened to being helpful and having good customer service? Apparently Ron Tonkin is too busy trying to scam people and make money rather than provide good customer service. Needless to say they have lost our business. Shame on you for treating elderly people in this manner. More
My service advisor, Gary Garcia, was courteous, efficient and explained the service and anticipated charges in advance of the work. I appreciated the Lyft service provided while my car was being serviced. I and explained the service and anticipated charges in advance of the work. Tried to schedule a recall repair online. Neither Honda's website, chat bot, nor toll-free number could schedule a repair, despite all of their literature directing me to those channels. So I visited the Ron website, chat bot, nor toll-free number could schedule a repair, despite all of their literature directing me to those channels. So I visited the Ron Tonkin website. The "Schedule A Repair" option required that I pick a service, but none of the service options applied to my recall. So I tried the chat. The representative did not ask for my VIN, but told me someone would have to call me (who knows when) to "get more information" to schedule my repair. When I told them I needed to schedule the repair online, they disconnected the chat. I then went to Beaverton Honda's website, where I was able to schedule the repair in about 5 minutes, completely online. DO NOT PATRONIZE RON TONKIN HONDA! More

This place sucks. Rip off! They charge a $155.00 just to look at your vehicle for service. Then they want to charge you 45X the price of the part to install of an hours worth of labor. They don't even feel look at your vehicle for service. Then they want to charge you 45X the price of the part to install of an hours worth of labor. They don't even feel like crooks doing it. They couldn't even get the part for 2 weeks and want you to pay in advance. I can't believe these people. More
Worst experience I've ever had at any service dept. Took my daughter's car in for what they call a maintenance minder "B", basically an oil change. Got there at 1:30, my scheduled appt. time, got out 3 hour my daughter's car in for what they call a maintenance minder "B", basically an oil change. Got there at 1:30, my scheduled appt. time, got out 3 hours later. Avelino Villeda, or Junior, after I showed him an invoice of other services done only 4,000 miles previously, including new spark plugs, immediately asked, "Why didn't they do a valve adjustment? Plus they put in the wrong spark plugs." So suddenly he's recommending a valve adjustment for $525, a fuel induction service (done 4,000 miles ago for $65 less than Ron Tonkin), transmission service (done already), and replacing engine coolant. He lifted the car hood to show me the "dirty" transmission fluid and the "cracking" serpentine belt (new 4,000 miles ago). My guess is he must earn a commission on service sales. Jr. was very slick and at first had me convinced that these things needed to be done so I texted my daughter about the cost. I didn't hear back and after about 5 minutes I told Jr. to go ahead. Then I heard back from my daughter who said just to do the oil change for now- those other things would have to wait. So I told Jr. to just do the oil change. He said it'd be about an hour. Two hours later, still no call from him so I found him to ask about the car. He said it was still up on the bay but they were almost done. I walked out to the parking lot and saw the car sitting there, having already been serviced. When I went back in to the service dept. I could not find Jr. Finally another employee asked if he could help. I was close to boiling by that point and said, "I'm tired of being F_____d around with by Jr. I just want my car." He paged Jr. who took about 10 minutes to show up. I will NEVER go back to this dealership. More
