Ron Tonkin Chevrolet - Service Center

Recommend changing everything under the hood My tire pressure indicator light was on. A well known tire shop tested the sensors and said they were fine, which seemed right since they were very n My tire pressure indicator light was on. A well known tire shop tested the sensors and said they were fine, which seemed right since they were very new. They said it was likely a computer issue and recommended I take it to a dealer. I took it to Tonkin, explained the issue and that the hub was likely going out. They diagnosed the issues and recommended hub replacement ($300 more than the tire shop), four new sensors (already new), tire rotation due to excessive uneven ware (1500 miles on the new tires), new spark plug wires (changed 6 months ago) and a lot of other services based upon mileage. I can understand the mileage recommendations since they have no idea what has already been done, but several of the other recommendations were completely unnecessary and expensive. One BS recommendation ruins my trust in the rests. I'll go back to Alan Webb. More

Repairs not done correctly the first time My truck needed a new transmission. Ron Tonkins service center did the work as well as repaired an existing oil leak. Less than 1000 miles later I n My truck needed a new transmission. Ron Tonkins service center did the work as well as repaired an existing oil leak. Less than 1000 miles later I noticed transmission fluid and oil was leaking from under my truck. It took me over a month before I could get my truck back in because they did not have a loaner vehicle available. Because they did not replace the seals when they put the transmission in the old seals leaked costing me an additional 1600 in labor for them to drop the transmission again and do the work they should have done in the first place and replace the seals with new ones. Needless to say I will not be returning to Ron Tonkin for any more service. I feel they did not replace the seals because they knew at some point they would leak which would mean they could take me for more money that way. More

Parts not Ordered but Scheduled Anyways! Called to schedule a service for a Recall on AIRBAGS. They scheduled me for 8/8/2017 at 5:30 PM. Had to get off work early and when I got there they t Called to schedule a service for a Recall on AIRBAGS. They scheduled me for 8/8/2017 at 5:30 PM. Had to get off work early and when I got there they told me my parts were not in, they hadn't even made a request/purchase yet! Why did you schedule me?! I also mentioned to them that I got a shield guard for the inside and outside of my car when purchased, but was never called back to schedule. They told me that purchase was not in the system. I was called a liar, thank goodness I had the contract in my car showing I did in fact buy it! Service here has just been awful. They will sweet talk you into making a purchase and just dump you into a system that doesn't even work. More

Good service I came back for my second free service and like the first one, got right in and staff was very friendly and helpful. Horrible customer service! They are never on time with appointments and the service staff is unfriendly and not helpful. I bought a new Spark and the first time I had my oil c They are never on time with appointments and the service staff is unfriendly and not helpful. I bought a new Spark and the first time I had my oil changed they had me sitting in the waiting room half a day. Each time I said something about the wait I was told "they would get to it quickly".... but didn't. I told them I was on work time but it made no difference at all. I have yet to have a good experience going to this service department. More
