Lied to at least twice today by service manager…... I originally towed my truck in because of an engine problem, all that was supposedly done was a read on the computer code, which the manager rudely told me it was a “cylinder 3 misfire”, as if I was bothering him because I asked. (Hopefully the call was recorded for training purposes, and no one has to take my word for how rude he was.) Fearing the worst I said might as well tear it apart for sure to see, which again by same service manager said it wouldn’t be looked into at least until the following week, to which I said that’s fine. I then spoke to some friends who advised me to get a second opinion, so I called back first chance I got to first see if it had been started, which I was told it hadn’t, and then I said not to, I would tow it out. Few days later went to pay my bill and have it towed, to which I couldn’t tow it because I had to be there, which I was on my way to work at the time. So few more days I finally had time to call for a tow. I show up first to try and move the truck, battery is now magically dead. Retrieved my jump pack, popped the hood only to find my engine was taken apart, a bag of nuts a bolts left next to the battery on the frame, and my air intake loose, and a rag was off to the right side of the compartment. Spoke to the tow driver who said we should ask what was taken apart before we start it just in case something was not put back. The driver tracked down the mechanic who said he tore the engine apart, apparently did more than just check the code that was told to me, and was told to leave it that way, and put it outside. (Keep in mind if it was drivable, I would have pulled onto rt 51 with covers off the engine, bolts missing, and my air intake not secured) We asked for it to be put back together, and apparently that was too tall of a task? Needed congressional approval? Needless to say the driver Dan from Browns Towing went in to find the service manager to get this done before we left. Dan proceeded to tell the manager, who was looking at the paperwork, that we needed the engine put back together before we towed it. Manager, without looking up rudely told Dan that he isn’t speaking to him, he will only speak to the owner, to which I was already standing next to Dan. Apparently the manager was the only one allowed to have an attitude with anyone, because when he got one back of me telling him that Dan was speaking for me because he knew more of the problem, and what needed done, he told me I needed to treat him with respect when talking to him. Needless to say that didn’t go over well. After making our way following the manager into the bay area to walk out to the truck, we were told I was never to bring my truck back here ever again for service, which I gladly obliged, and asked if he wanted a picture of me just in case I mistakenly forgot how I was treated and tried to come back in. He must not have liked that too much as he proceeded to mock me as he walked away, which he didn’t know I saw, and when called out on it, made him even more infuriated. After walking out, and the work started to put my truck back together, he came back out with my paperwork, attempted some half witted form of an apology, then copped an attitude yet again, only to which then said that he could refund the service charge. Apparently he didn’t like how I handed him back the paperwork, and then rescinded the offer, to which I said to keep the money, not the first time I was ripped off at this dealership ( first time was my wife’s jeep which they said they would look at a specific problem, they knew said problem, but refused to check it because it didn’t pop a code, but still kept our $125). By this point I was over being there, wanting to get my truck off the lot, to which I was then informed yet again I was never to come back. Well let’s just say I had enough….and he was informed that any reviews from here on out would be negative. He then tried to refund my money, said keep it and we’re done. More
Dealership was able to give quick quotes and different options. While I could not afford to fix every minor issue, they clearly stated what was needed to pass an inspection and what was not so I would be options.
