This was while back but I think still worth mentioning. Bought the car in May, 2011 from Thomas Toyota. Price was great and everything went well. I planned to do that myself but I also noticed that an air filter has "probably" never been replaced. I have never seen an air filter dirty as this one. It actually had bugs stuck to it. I called Thomas Toyota immediately and they told me to bring the car back and they will take care of the issues. I drove 30 miles one way just to find out that they are not responsible for the air filter condition. They offered to fill all the fluids which I agreed. Mistake I made was that I never checked the fluids after getting the car back from the dealership that day. I drove home just to find out that the only fluid they re-filed was windshield washer. More
I think this dealership goes above and beyond the needs of its patrons. Sammie was a delight to deal with. He was so friendly:) No hassling us like other places. I was disappointed in that I expected the Camry XLE (a top line model) to have a remote garage door opener and a compass built in. It did not. I assumed it would and did not ask. Horrible customer service. The service team was not fully honest with the repairs. Projected a quick fix--later stated it would cost more to have it repaired to perfect condition. Thomas Toyota of Joliet has been nothing but. Especially, if the manager argues with the customer in the parking lot. John was rude and distasteful. I hope that I am contacted ASAP to resolve this issue and I expect a full refund for the service that did not fix the issue with my vehicle. More
I would absolutely reccommend Thomas Toyota. I advised Nate over the phone exactly what I was looking for and he delivered that and then some! Thomas Toyota has exceeded my expectations. I purchased a new RAV 4 on 12/15/12. Sammie Scott was the salesman who made it not only easy, but thoroughly enjoyable. Sammie is knowledgeable about the product he sells and is straightforward, clear, the salesman who made it not only easy, but thoroughly enjoyable. Sammie is knowledgeable about the product he sells and is straightforward, clear, and concise when responding to specific questions. He is personable while always maintaing complete professionalism. Over the years I've refused to buy cars because of salesmen's ineptness. There was no danger of that occurring when dealing with Sammie. I also had the pleasure of dealing with Jim Knizek,the Finance Manager. He too is straightforward, clear, and concise. I was impressed with the speed and thoroughness that he displayed. Jim is also personable while maintaining complete professionalism. I highly recommend Thomas Toyota. Be sure to ask for Sammie. More
I came in touch with Thomas Toyota by accident ,I was at the grocery store across the street and my car wouldn't start I walked across the street with my kids to the dealership looking for the service dep the grocery store across the street and my car wouldn't start I walked across the street with my kids to the dealership looking for the service department In which no one paid me no attention as I turned around to walk away that's when I came in contact with Jermaine ,He asked are you being help I said no then I told him my story about my car not starting .he said that all the guys was gone home at this time but what the young man did next amazed me he said that he would get somebody to take me and my kids home then called a tow company for me .In this day and age that's not heard of More
I am so angry about my experience with the dealership that I don't know where to begin. I have been lied to from day 1. I found a vehicle on Tuesday that I wanted to purchase and I did an internet requ that I don't know where to begin. I have been lied to from day 1. I found a vehicle on Tuesday that I wanted to purchase and I did an internet request to speak with someone further about it. The gentlemen who emailed was not going to be in until the next day so I called the dealership and spoke with Lance. When I said that the price for the vehicle on car gurus was 18,488 but it was 18,900 on their website I was told that the price was firm at 18,900. The more I thought about it the more angry I got. I called and explained my issues to the front desk and I asked for a supervisor in used car sales. I was connected with Brad and I explained that I wanted to purchase a 2011 Sienna they had listed on their website and car gurus at 18,488. I was told that they had the vehicle in stock and that yes, the price would be the 18,488. I explained that I would be making an 8 hour trip and taking time off to come and purchase the car. I also told him that I was preapproved and I offered to send over the paperwork showing my approval. I then asked to pay a deposit via phone to hold the van. I was told by Brad that he would personally place the vehicle in the back lot to make sure that it would be available Monday since he couldn't take a deposit via phone. He also made an appointment with me to call me at noon on Saturday to discuss final arrangements and so that I could send him the paperwork via fax ahead of time (to make sure I had everything required, since it's not like you can drive home 8 hours if you forget something). Well Saturday at noon came and went with no call. I called Brad around 1:30 and he told me he would call back in just a few minutes because he was with a client. I sat at home an additional 1 1/2 hours with NO call. I looked online at the website for the car during this time and noticed it was not longer online. So, I called back and was told by Jim that Brad wasn't available. I explained what was going on and Jim put me on a brief hold. He came back and promptly told me that the vehicle was sold at 9 this morning. I was furious! I explained the entire situation and told Jim that I felt as though they were scamming people by getting them to arrive at a dealership to find that what they had been promised was "sold"...only to try to upsell a more expensive vehicle. Jim proceeded to hang up on me. I called back and asked for the owner. I was told he wasn't in. I then said I wanted whomever was in charge. I was transferred to George who listened to my complaints and told me that he would "write up" both Jim and Brad for the occurence. I asked if he was a supervisor and he said that he did alot of things at the dealership. I asked for the head of the customer relations department...apparently Jermaine. I was told to hold. Brad came on the line instead. He told me that he was sorry that the vehicle sold earlier this morning and that he got tied up with work and "forgot to place the vehicle in the back lot". I told him that was ridiculous and that he lied to me. He said that the truth was that he couldn't put the car in the back lot, at least not until Saturday (which he NEVER said to me back on Thursday). He then flat out lied and said that I was supposed to call him this morning. LIES! He made arrangements with me to call me at NOON on Saturday...which he did not do. He then told me that he was sorry and that he was going to go right now and find me the same vehicle, same mileage, etc and get it for me for the same price. He said he would call me back in the next 10 minutes no matter what. Well guess what...10 minutes came and went. My husband called and asked for the GM...and he was given a man named John. John proceeded to tell my husband that HE told me could could not hold the vehicle or take a deposit...which is a complete LIE. I never spoke with anyone named John and I was NEVER told that. He then said that he didn't know what Brad supposedly told me but that he wasn't going to get into it. What a terrible way to treat a customer. He then proceeded to hang up on my husband when he told "John" that he was filing a complaint. I called and asked for Jermaine and was told he was with a customer and couldn't come to the phone. I was transferred to Brad again who told me he got tied up again and that is why he didn't call back. He blew smoke at me as expected tried to sell me a more expensive or older vehicle instead of doing what he said he would do (again). I am so disappointed in Toyota and the customer service that I expected from a Toyota dealer. My family has been buying Toyotas since the 80's. And, I have NEVER had an experience as terrible as this. I can promise you that this deal didn't just burn me. You have lost much more than one single customer. First thing Monday morning I will be making a call to Toyota corporate, the BBB and the attorney general if necessary. UPDATE: As of 12/19 NOTHING has been done. Jermaine responded to this post publicly but has made no attempts to contact me to remedy this. More
