This deal went flawlessly. Amazing! I was in the market for a 2014 FJ Cruiser when I realized that 2014 really was the last year for them. I had been hearing every since 2010, when I bou I was in the market for a 2014 FJ Cruiser when I realized that 2014 really was the last year for them. I had been hearing every since 2010, when I bought my first one, a CPO 2008 model, that "This is the last year for them". So after hearing that for 4 years in a row, every year, I kind of blew it off. Then I found out it REALLY WAS THE LAST YEAR for production in October of 2014! I live in Springfield, MO and started an internet search when since my local dealer had none and was expecting no more of them. I had to extend my search to a 500 mile radius before i started getting hits. I talked with several dealerships in various states then eventually ran across a Matthew Banks at Rolling Hills Toyota in St Joseph, MO. He was much more receptive to my inquiries and seemed more knowledgeable about the FJ than other dealership reps I had talked to. We struck a deal on my trade in that worked out GREAT for me! I drove up to St Joe the Monday after a Chiefs game in my 2008 FJ and drove back out in the new 2014 FJ in the matter of a few hours. I had a check from my bank and the numbers came out just as predicted. He didn't try to upsell my on worthless BS like filling the tires with 80% Nitrogen (the air we breath is 78% Nitrogen) or other such dross as I had informed him previously that what i want is what I want and I don't have time or the patience to jack around on this deal. So the whole timeline: Thursday I call the dealership and talk with Matthew for about an hour. The next day,Friday, after having my bank talk with Matthew and a guy in the finance department at Rolling Hills i got a check from my bank. I drove up to KC on the day after that which was Saturday. Sunday the Chiefs WIN over the Jets!! and then Monday I drove to St Joe and we basically traded FJ's after i signed a few papers. Easiest deal I have EVER done concerning a vehicle! And best of all...I walked out with the felling that i DIDN'T just get screwed over! Matthew Banks made that all happen flawlessly. I have been buying and selling or trading in my personal vehicles since 1983 and I must say this was the most smoothest ride of a deal ever!!! More
