My new car came with a hard rubber steering wheel that I later replaced with one from a higher trim level. The stereo controls on that wheel did not work and other dealers said they would never work. But I read about a dealer back east who had done this. So I contacted all the Central Arizona dealers to see if any would try. Some never replied, the rest said they couldn't do it or wanted too much to try. Scott Van Meter, the Service Director at Robert Horne said they would give it a shot. Less than an hour after my appointment, I was on my way with working steering wheel controls for $45. I think a lot of dealer service departments these days just want to focus on what they routinely do. It was very refreshing to find one that would tackle something out of the ordinary and still charge an extremely reasonable price. I was impressed not only because they could do this when other dealers said they did not know how but also that the Tech (I hope that's the right title) was so well educated in the complexity of today's electronics that he was able to do the unusual so quickly. This dealership gave me the worst experience ever, and I have bought many new cars. I brought my ford Econoline in to this service shop for repair on the starter. Six months later the starter fell out of the truck and destroyed the flywheel. The service manager took all of 5 seconds to begin telling me i was lying about the starter falling out of the truck and they left it with "Sorry, we work 30 days out,not our problem" More
Going to the Robert Horne Ford dealership in Apache Junction was the worst experience my wife & I have ever gone through.Ive never felt so angry and cheated in my life. We went in to trade our vehicle in on something else, we were told we could recieve $8,500 for our trade. At this point we picked what we wanted, however the price sticker was not on the window so the salesman went inside to get a direct quote from the manager, seing as how the vehicle we were interested in was USED we expected the price to be close to our trade. Our salesman returned with the price, we had no way of knowing THIS WAS NOT THE PRICE that was on the non-existent sticker! Since our heart was set we traded our $8,500 vehicle for what Robert Horne Ford CLAIMED WAS A $12,999 11 YEAR OLD VEHICLE. So we spent our mortgage money to make up the difference, it wasnt until we returned home and found the vehicle we had traded & purchased for was only listed at $7,900 !!!!!! Yes, they lied....Now we all expect to get hustled to a degree, but this was a move the mafia would do! Every day I find someone to tell this story to, and even have a printout of the REAL listed price. They should be ran out of the valley and go to work for the mexican drug cartels, they would fit right in. Moby Prather More
