However, after my latest experience with their service department, I will never buy from them again—and I caution others to think twice before doing business with them. Recently, my Kia Telluride was involved in an accident, suffering damage to the back passenger side. After the necessary bodywork was completed at an autobody shop, my vehicle was taken to Robert Brogden’s Kia on 3/10/25 due to a faulty part in the tailgate, which caused the trunk to remain locked. From the moment my car arrived at their service department, communication was horrible. I followed up multiple times a day, only to be told that the technicians were struggling to diagnose the issue. They claimed they had never seen this problem before and needed to check every wire to figure it out. On 3/12/25 at 11 AM, the service manager called me with a few additional questions. I answered them and was told they were still diagnosing the issue. Then, on 3/13/25 at 4:46 PM, I received a text message—not a phone call—stating that my car was done, along with a link to pay an invoice for over $1,500. I was shocked. No one had ever called me to discuss the issue, let alone get my approval for any repairs. I immediately called the autobody shop that had taken my car to Kia, and they were just as surprised. They confirmed that Kia was supposed to contact me directly before making any repairs. I had spoken with Kia’s service tech, Rodney, multiple times a day throughout this process, yet not once did they explain the issue or discuss any pricing. Today, on 3/14/25, I went to Kia in person to demand my car back. They refused and told me I had to pay before they would release it. I met with the service manager, Ryan, and told him to get the body shop down there to figure it out—because it’s MY car, and I never authorized repairs. After back-and-forth discussions between Kia and the body shop, they agreed that I needed to pay $569 for the part and labor before they would release my car. I am absolutely furious. Kia decided to hold my car hostage over unauthorized repairs, forcing me to pay for something I never agreed to. If you value honesty, transparency, and customer service, I strongly advise you to think twice before trusting Robert Brogden’s Kia More
I have had to have my vehicle serviced multiple times, usually a recall or warranty work. Customer service in the service department has been horrible. The last visit was for final resolution for a recall. I made a reservation weeks ahead. So they knew I was coming, and why! When I arrive, I ask how long I would be there. My appointment was for 9:00 and the service rep said I should be out by 11am. At 11:00, the service rep advised they didn’t have the part, but was going to pick it up and it would be another 30 minutes. At 12:30 I inquired what the hold up was and the STILL did not have the part. 2 1/2 hours later!!!! I left!! Of course, I was angry. I told them to bring me my car, I wasn’t going to wait any longer. The service rep apologized and said they would call when the part arrived. It’s been a month! I have never, NEVER had a positive service appointment at Robert Brogden Olathe Kia!! More
This dealership did a great job of making sure my vehicle was taken care of! I accidentally missed my scheduled appointment, but Rodney was so kind and had me come in at a later time that same day, and I got was taken care of!
