Mrs Houston came in with a family member that was purchasing a vehicle for them. They picked out the Ford Ranger which had a perfect Carfax report was not a flood car. If it was Carfax would buy the car back if any information showed differently. About five or six weeks after they purchased the truck they called with a issue in the front end. We made an appointment for them and they dropped the truck off. We diagnosed the Ranger with a broken wheel bearing and tie rod end and control arm. The damage was caused by road conditions, pothole curb etc. We explained to her the truck didn't come with a warranty per DMV and there was no purchase of one. But even if she did the warranty wouldn't have covered it because it was done from road damage or pilot error. The roads this past year in CT have not been fixed because all attention went to the Tornado clean up. The wonderful roads in CT. We offered to fix the truck for a discounted rate which I believe was about four or five hundred dollars. She declined to have the work done and towed the vehicle. We received a call from DMV saying a complaint had been filed. The complaint was stating the bed rails were rotted and would be willing to repair the damage. I told the inspector we would be happy to look at the concerning issue. The DMV inspector said after contacting her he would get back to me. I heard from him a week later stating after numerous attempts to contact her she didn't return any of his calls. The case was dismissed. This truck was sold in February of 2018 and now this is coming up again almost nine months later. We tried to help resolve the issues but the lack of communication and the ability to be flexible on behalf of the buyer would not allow it.
