I've attached the conversation to the copy of the review that Ashley left on Facebook if you would like to see how the conversation went down so there is no hearsay. We use the chat feature on Facebook to schedule appointments, confirm availability, and answer questions. Mike had addressed that we were a one price dealer after you asked if we were non negotiating. He explained that your presence was your leverage and never did he say that we would accept $8000 out the door. He was trying to make an appointment to come down where we can discuss price in person because he isn't authorized to do that via chat. The price of the car was $8400 + tax ($533.40) + registration ($275) + dealer fee ($698) which comes out to $9906. How could we take $8000 and discount the vehicle $1900? Meaning we would have to sell you the vehicle for $6500. The book value of the vehicle is according to KBB is fair $7800 to excellent $9812. Our car is a one owner clean Carfax showroom new vehicle. We tried to explain the process and you threatened to leave a bad review if we did not meet your price demands. I'm sorry for the miscommunication and it is never our intention to mislead anyone, we are busy on Saturdays and don't want to waste ours and your valuable time by coming down for a discount that won't happen. You can read through our reviews as this is not common business practice for us. Our website right at the top says "Your One Price Used Car Superstore"

When the initial salesman dropped his head and said OUTLOUD, “Now, I know why Mike wanted me to start with you...” it’s pretty obvious it’s common practice and I feel terrible for the low employees on the totem pole that you send out to take the anger you create with your shady business tactics! If people simply read our conversation, it’s pretty obvious what happened. You can’t spin this no matter how hard you try!

This is the reason why I didn't want to sell him the truck in the first place. A very rude an arrogant customer from the start. By the way I did give him a full tank of diesel. There was no duct tape hiding anything anywhere and no rust spots. He has called the dealer and is rude to everyone he talks to. The extended service contract rep spoke to him and they don't even want him as a client and are giving him a full refund. The staff has been instructed to call the police if he enters the property.

Your response is exactly why you got the review you did. Unprofessional. The newspaper will be contacting you for comment.

Its to bad with all that's going on in the world today a customer writes something like this. I love when customers tell a one sided story. Marcia inquired about our 2011 Honda Element with 63,106 miles on it which was advertised on the net. We do a walk around live video before people even decide to venture down here to show any imperfections. The reason we do this is to avoid these accusations like this. We had several conversations and emails along with texts regarding her trip. Uber wanted over $100 so we were asked if we could pick her up so we accommodated her request. Marcia flew in from xx Louis, yes xx Louis we drove to the airport to pick her and her dog up and brought them back to the dealership. This was a four hour round trip. She looked at the car and took it for a test drive and was happy with everything she saw. She inspected the car thoroughly inside and out. This was a needle in a haystack barn find. The only reason she came to CT is because this was the only Element in the country with miles this low. Marcia called my service manager and explained her concerns. Vinny asked to send pictures so she did. Vinny called her back and was a bit shocked that she was upset about a tin shield that surrounds the manifolds that her mechanic removed because of them rattling and rusting. The tire pressure monitors were just replaced but he said they were faulty and the undercarriage had rust even though the entire undercarriage was descaled and ground down and then coated with rust proofing not paint as she keeps stating. The video of the process is on my website and enclosed in every outgoing email which she agreed upon. She could have had an independent garage inspect the car to avoid any issues. I called her and was told she would continue to put bad reviews up and called us liars. This car was in like new condition above and underneath but not a full restoration on a ten year old car. This was a two owner clean Carfax Element with super low miles and was inspected by the auction after we purchased it for structural issues and by us. 100% false acquisitions and troubling to me because we try so hard to keep people happy but in these times it seems like no matter what you do you just cant win. She just wanted money refunded after the deal was completed. These are her reviews from other sites which I pasted to show her story changes. *** MARCIAS REVIEW *** from other sites. *** FIRST *** This dealership is awful. I bought a Honda Element and discovered when I got home that the underneath of the car was fully rusted. The car was advertised as very good. What was disturbing is that they knew this without disclosing the true condition and that they sold me an added cost of $799 for an undercoating that was paint. I guess to try and cover up the true condition. I repeatedly sent messages to the owner but Ron never replied. Beware. They may be nice in the beginning but the follow-up is deplorable. Form is temporary; Class is permanent. *** SECOND *** Well there you go, you saw Ron's response. He called when he finally saw this review. I reminded him that I never complained about the service getting to the dealership. I thought it was fantastic and much appreciated. Isn't that what you would expect -- exemplary customer service? Most likely I wouldn't have flown from Kansas City with my dog to CT to buy the car if not for Chris, the sales person. I thought it was an indication of their overall service. It is the service AFTER you buy the car that is worrisome. Check out the other one-star ratings and you'll see the majority have to do with the service after you buy the car. *** THIRD *** By the way, Ron was in total denial saying there was no sign of rust and ended up disparaging my character and called me a liar. How's that for customer service? Very unprofessional. I have never in all my years of buying a car ever sent a bad review but I just couldn't in all good consciousness let this poor service go by without warning others. This kind of unprofessionalism should be exposed. Truth matters.
