No dealer wants to see an unhappy customer with any issues small or big. Sam purchased a 2008 Ford F-150 Lariat with 89,480 miles. Sam came down from South Carolina to purchase the truck. Sam was offered an extended service contract to protect his investment which he declined and we have a document stating he declined the contract. He called Vinny my service manager regarding the issue the Ford dealer found. Vinny called the dealership twice to speak with someone regarding photos and recommendations. They never returned his call. Sam gave us the codes they pulled and they are codes for phaser gears which is a common problem with the 5.4 liter V8. Ford told him he needed a new engine but we believe they are incorrect. The repair we recommend on the low side is about $1800 and the high side $2500. I happened to walk back to service and heard Vinny talking to Sam who had previously hung up on him. I personally got on the phone to try and see what we could do to help. I explained my opinion but obviously the trucks not here for us to personally diagnose. I pulled up his dealer folder and looked at the Carfax report and shows the truck was serviced at two different Ford dealers since new. I never once said sludge wasn't a problem but was trying to see what we could do to help somehow. The one thing I don't understand and I asked yesterday if the truck was still at Ford and Sam replied yes. He said the oil pan was removed and he had a second opinion from another mechanic. How? so they removed the oil pan and put it back together and then brought to Ford. I never got a chance to finish the conversation because they hung up on me before I got to finish. The one thing we were trying to accomplish was to help which I explained before they hung up on us for the second time. His mother was also on the phone insulting us and threatening to post bad reviews. The truck was owned for four months and had 4000 miles put on it. I am saddened that this happened and we wish everybody would purchase a service contract to avoid these circumstance's but that didn't happen. The truck ran fine and drove to the Carolina's if it had an issue it wouldn't of made it down there. The issue is a common problem and we wish it didn't happen but it did, we tried to help but unless we put a motor in the truck for free that's all they wanted to hear.

I've attached the conversation to the copy of the review that Ashley left on Facebook if you would like to see how the conversation went down so there is no hearsay. We use the chat feature on Facebook to schedule appointments, confirm availability, and answer questions. Mike had addressed that we were a one price dealer after you asked if we were non negotiating. He explained that your presence was your leverage and never did he say that we would accept $8000 out the door. He was trying to make an appointment to come down where we can discuss price in person because he isn't authorized to do that via chat. The price of the car was $8400 + tax ($533.40) + registration ($275) + dealer fee ($698) which comes out to $9906. How could we take $8000 and discount the vehicle $1900? Meaning we would have to sell you the vehicle for $6500. The book value of the vehicle is according to KBB is fair $7800 to excellent $9812. Our car is a one owner clean Carfax showroom new vehicle. We tried to explain the process and you threatened to leave a bad review if we did not meet your price demands. I'm sorry for the miscommunication and it is never our intention to mislead anyone, we are busy on Saturdays and don't want to waste ours and your valuable time by coming down for a discount that won't happen. You can read through our reviews as this is not common business practice for us. Our website right at the top says "Your One Price Used Car Superstore"

When the initial salesman dropped his head and said OUTLOUD, “Now, I know why Mike wanted me to start with you...” it’s pretty obvious it’s common practice and I feel terrible for the low employees on the totem pole that you send out to take the anger you create with your shady business tactics! If people simply read our conversation, it’s pretty obvious what happened. You can’t spin this no matter how hard you try!

This is the reason why I didn't want to sell him the truck in the first place. A very rude an arrogant customer from the start. By the way I did give him a full tank of diesel. There was no duct tape hiding anything anywhere and no rust spots. He has called the dealer and is rude to everyone he talks to. The extended service contract rep spoke to him and they don't even want him as a client and are giving him a full refund. The staff has been instructed to call the police if he enters the property.
