I Was told if I didn't like the truck, the deposit was refundable. I Was told the truck would come with a 30 day warranty. When I got the paperwork, it was noted that AS IS was checked off. I was concerned why my registration fees were so high. I chose to do undercoating but I was confused why I was being charged for VIN ETCH when I declined it. I called the owner to discuss the purchase order. He assured me if I didn't like the truck the deposit was refundable.I was told any issues with the truck including the engine light would be fixed for the appointment to test drive it. He told me to test drive the truck, we set the appointment to view truck Monday Sept. 12 for 4:00. My wife accompanied me as this was to be my truck but she would be driving it. SHe has also had experience in the dealership environment and wanted to check the paperwork to be sure it was correct this time. When we arrived the truck wasn't ready but we were early. So we waited while the truck was finished being prepped. The plow was requested to be on it for test drive. When the truck returned from having the plow installed, the technician spoke to me about the plow, meanwhile my wife was looking at the truck top to bottom front to back. THE right headlight fell on the ground next to her. She asked if any other *expletive* parts were going to fall off the truck. The reverse light on the driver side was not in working order. At this time my wife asked if the codes on the engine light were documented and was the truck fixed. She asked if we bought the truck could we have a copy. The tech proceeded to explain they don't document the lights they clear, or fix ..would we like them to write it down on a piece of paper? My wife informed both the tech and the sales person George, with no documentation of what was done to the engine or what codes came up we would not be buying the truck. We were told it would be up to the owner to release the information for the codes. My wife didn't like the reply but told me to test drive the vehicle (2002 Dodge RAM 2500 blue with plow). we took the test drive and the salesperson said we didn't have to buy the truck and proceeded to speak about why they couldn't release the codes. My wife told him "I want to hear the truck, I don't want to hear any more xx". I drove the truck for a few blocks as the salesperson directed me. My wife asked ME mechanical questions about the truck during the ride. Upon our return, the owner was present. My wife and I discussed the truck, and the owner informed me how "much he did for me" and "he promised he would fix the issues on the truck, and they were done". It was supposed to be road ready and it wasn't CLEARLY. I asked about the reverse lights, and the headlight. I wasn't too thrilled with the promises that were made thus far and parts falling off. My wife asked about the codes and the owner told us "we are giving you your money back then". He seemed irriatated when my wife asked about their morals and the parts falling off the truck. he definietly had an attitude. We went in the office, and I was confronted with how much he did to help me to buy the truck. My wife wasn't happy with the statements made by the salesman directing her how to speak. And not to swear. She was questioning the VIN Etch, and the owner told us information she didn't beleive. She shook her head no, and the owner then told her stop shaking her head, that "you know what I was going to give you back your deposit but now I am not. I came down here especially for you because your wife is being a xxxxx. My wife confronted his unprofessional behavior, and his response to her was to leave before he kicked her xxx and then "kick my xxx" because I couldn't control my wife's mouth. Several people were present when this escalated between my wife and the owner in regards to his disrespect. We were led out the door, and I was told to control my wife's mouth. My wife called the police, there is a file number with the Bridgeport Police. In the meantime, she called our bank to get our money refunded. The owner walked up the stairs, and told her to "keep it up", he showed her his phone with a weird message on it, about "her being a ***** My wife stood her ground, with the bank hearing the whole conversation telling the owner to stay away from our family, that he threatened us. The police showed up and took our statement. As of this time we have a dispute in with our bank as well asthe request for the phone call that was recorded which documented his admitting he threatened us by his responses to my wife "being a xxxxx" that she needed to shut her mouth. The representative heard the owner, and couldn't believe his response. The dispute was quickly put through and is in process. I am asking for the owner to apologize for his unprofessional behavior, to refrain form hurting my family as well as refunding the deposit that belongs to me. The owner denied threatening my wife and I however our bank has a phone recording stating otherwise. Regardless of their response here, and lying saying they didn't hear their owner threaten me and my wife...we have zero tolerance for threatening. We have been alerted to call local police in our area should he choose to further escalate his threats. Our bank who was on the phone during his snide comments outside....and heard all of it outside is gladly submitting the phone call on record where the owner is heard repeating what he said in the showroom about his threats word for word. The representative at theb ank couldn't believe he was saying those threats. Telling the police officer that my wife was belligerent and yelling in front of and inside the showroom was a lie. Phone call recording with bank proves that in front of his business. ****Just read his response.....lol, I am amused....he stood next to me(the wife) the whole time never leaving the showroom floor-his salesperson handled my husbands credit card not him...and claiming...all xxxx broke loose, exaggerating a "fire" or whatever he said.....WOW!!!!! The only xxxx that broke loose was his mouth running when he threatened us, which I noticed he didn't address. He has nothing to say there or deny because I still have proof of his unprofessional behavior...from the start of his threats in the showroom right out to in front of his business where he repeated his threats.....VERY DISRESPECTFUL...... In our experience, the owner didn't keep his word...plain and simple and he definitely didn't like the fact when I challenged him on it. Me yelling? WOW.....lots of customers present? Probably two....Claiming my husband signed a contract he forgets his part, according to his advertising a binding contract includes fixing what needed to be fixed (by his word) so the vehicle is ROAD READY....sorry but parts falling off a truck and safety lights not working, not documenting engine codes etc. doesn't deem it "road ready", therefore that part of the contract was also broken by the owner.....Calling me names after the fact that the truck wasn't "road ready"does not warrant a sale is going to happen, even though we had a check in hand, which in a court of law stands. Owner didn't have any warranty on the truck, contract (documented) has it checked off "AS IS" and had my husband sign it despite promises --another blatant LIE. The only thing this owner got right, yeah I may not be a lady, yeah I swore---> too bad. Your disrespect was met with the same...I am a woman experienced in the auto industry to know when someone is throwing ALOT OF xx and will not tolerate being threatened or disrespected to make a sale.. Pushed beyond a boiling point....enough to threaten a customer? Poor management as well as unprofessional. Quite simple, if what was promised was done on this owners part, we would have bought the truck. Good luck to your biz. Taking our biz elsewhere---OBVIOUSLY. More
