I am also astonished tha DO NOT GO TO THIS DEALER- My wife and I came to see pathfinder platinum and were treated with a high degree of disrespect. I am also astonished that the minute we mentioned we wanted a Platinum Pathfinder, they informed us that the car is for 5000 to 10000 above MSRP. Not only did they quote me that price difference, but they also informed me that they would not let us test drive the car. We were told that they were not letting customers test-drive platinum. I then asked if we could test drive an S, SV, or an SL to make sure we felt comfortable driving the car. I was informed they have the same suspensions, so I thought at least we could drive that car to make sure we like the handling. This would be the typical process before talking price but not at this dealer. The salesperson went and spoke to the sales manager, Tony, again he refused to let us even drive the car. I guess we were not wearing the proper attire to buy the pathfinder platinum or any vehicle for that matter. What is disheartening is that they are profiling and price gouging. I have notified Nissan Customer Escalations of this act but don’t give them business. We all understand the price and demand challenges, but to quote a price that high is wrong. Not to let us test drive the car or any car for that matter is wrong, and I have to assume that we were profiled as not being able to afford the car. This would be the third time we would look to buy a NISSAN but now question if want to provide our business to a company that would be represented by a dealer like this. More
Came here to return my lease and finance a new car on June 24. Alfredo Menéndez helped us with a new finance plan, my parents being very comfortable and trusting of him since he’s helped them in the past June 24. Alfredo Menéndez helped us with a new finance plan, my parents being very comfortable and trusting of him since he’s helped them in the past with their cars. My entire family and I left with a specific number of months in mind that he said, and assured us it was going to be. We asked, assured, and double checked with him in both English and Spanish. The number he told us was completely different than on the contract and what the bank told us. Received the paper work from a completely different bank last week than the one he told us we were going to have. Since last week my mother has been attempting to speak with him by calling his cell, Nissan, and leaving messages where coincidentally he’s never in, unavailable, and had left multiple messages. Went in on July 14 where I spoke with the manager, who assured me Alfredo would call me the minute he comes into work at 12pm after I explained the confusion and urgency we had. Hours go by and I never received a phone call from him. Decided to go in around 4:30pm. Takes us into his office to go over the issues. I told him I been waiting for his call this afternoon, where he rudely told me “I came in late, I had other clients, you are not the only client” , after this I specifically told him the numerous times my mother has tried to reach out to him, to which he said nothing. Told him to bring in the manager, never went to go get him. After telling him my brother in law and sister confirmed what he told us was a different number, he continued to tell us in the face that is not what he said. If he did nothing wrong like he stated, there was no need to ignore the phone calls and call us back to clarify, something he clearly could not do. The same manager who was shaking our hands, thanking us for the business the day we drove off the lot, was the same one who never followed up with us despite explaining to him the confusion we had with him and assuring me he would make sure he’d call me. Completely different attitude and helpfulness from the day I purchased the new car. Extremely disappointed in this Nissan despite staying with Nissan and trading in for another, putting in good word with the rest of family to where they all purchased new cars from this Nissan as well. Needless to say be careful on who helps you at this Nissan, or visit another center. More
While traveling from Long Island to PA for a long overdue visit with family my transmission went on the span of the GWB. However, the folks at Riverside Nissan, specifically Rachel, helped turn this horrif visit with family my transmission went on the span of the GWB. However, the folks at Riverside Nissan, specifically Rachel, helped turn this horrifying experience into a wonderful reunion with cousins who I hadn't seen since pre-Covid. Thank you Rachel and the other staff members who had a hand in allowing us to continue on with our road trip and not allow something as serious as a transmission repair/replacement to create not even the tiniest blip in our plans. All the best! Susan Wolf More
Riverside Nissan used a deceptive bait-and-switch tactic (see the Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act as well as NJSA 2C:21-7(e)). On 6/12/21, my parents came upon a TrueCar, Inc. adver (see the Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act as well as NJSA 2C:21-7(e)). On 6/12/21, my parents came upon a TrueCar, Inc. advertisement, listed in conjunction with Riverside Nissan (preserved and available upon request). Stock Number #210628 (VIN #JN1BJ1BW4MW667575) was listed for sale for $25,305, net of all fees, other than tax. Dealerships are legally required to honor their advertised prices, so long as the specific stock number is in their inventory. However, some deceptive dealerships will intentionally circulate cheap advertisements of UNAVAILABLE vehicles, with the intention of drawing in customers. These dealerships typically inform customers that the vehicles are in stock, and direct them to go to the dealership in person in order to purchase the vehicle. Once buyers arrive, they find out that the vehicle is not in stock, but that the dealership can sell them a similar vehicle at a much higher price. In order to avoid this tactic, my parents and I drove to Riverside Nissan on 6/12/21, around 4pm, and called the dealership before walking in. The availability of Stock Number #210628 was unconditionally confirmed, and the representative was eager to schedule an appointment for us to come in to buy it. Only moments later, we walked into the dealership and met with Sales Representative Danny, who was acting under the direction of Sales Manager Christina Anello. Danny stated that the vehicle was, "literally just sold; right now," (6/12/21, at about 4pm). Spoiler alert: We checked with TrueCar a few days later, and Riverside Nissan was still advertising this discounted vehicle as available. The notion that Danny’s statement was truthful is laughable. My parents and I quickly advised Danny that we were not interested in purchasing any vehicle, other than the exact make, model, and trim specified in the advertisement, and other than for the exact price listed in the advertisement. We were ready to walk out. However, Danny stated that he would order an identical vehicle (make / model / trim) for my parents, and would honor the advertised price. We were skeptical, so before proceeding further, we clarified the terms of this deal. Danny consulted with Manager Anello and returned to us, confirming that we would pay $25,305, net of all fees, other than tax. We told Danny, that if this is indeed the price, we would buy the vehicle, but we asked again for a specific “YES/NO” confirmation. Danny unequivocally confirmed that we would pay the advertised price for the vehicle, which would be ordered for us. We made it clear, that if the price was not $25,305, we did not wish to continue. After consulting with Manager Anello, the representative returned with a myriad of forms, and directed my father to provide highly sensitive personal information (SSN, etc.) Manager Anello spoke to us a number of times throughout this process, and promulgated the same information as Danny. During this time, Danny consulted with Manager Anello at least three times, reassuring us of the price each time. After obtaining all of the sensitive information, Danny began completing forms in conjunction with the transaction and an impending non-refundable deposit, which was to finalize the sale. However, *drumroll* the price of the vehicle was now $26,500 + fees + tax, which would total at least $2200 more than agreed upon. When confronted, Danny openly admitted that the dealership would not abide by the terms that had been previously agreed upon. Furthermore, Danny, in the presence of Manager Christina Anello, stated, "we don't do true car anymore," implying that the dealership no longer honors the prices promised in their internet advertisements. Upset with having provided sensitive personal information under false pretenses, as well as falling victim to deceptive business practices, we walked out. Days later, I spoke with General Manager Travis Roberson, who tried to smooth over the situation by promising to honor the agreed-upon price, but only if he could “obtain” such a vehicle. Spoiler: he couldn’t, claiming a shortage of them. Strangely, under the bait-and-switched higher price, the dealership had no problem obtaining or ordering the vehicle for us. I later contacted multiple dealerships, all of whom stated they can certainly order a Nissan Rogue Sport SV. I called for a quote and gave them the exact details for what I want. I told them if I like the numbers I will come in test drive and close the deal. Christina the bdc rep I was speaking to told me either I what I want. I told them if I like the numbers I will come in test drive and close the deal. Christina the bdc rep I was speaking to told me either I go to the dealership in person or else she will not provide me with a quote. I told her I will come in if I like the deal I am presented with then I can come in. She told me in a very rude way that I should go to a broker then. Horrible customer service, I will never do business with this dealership. Thank you Christina! More
