At Riverhead Hyundai they are unashamed practitioners of the misleading styles of advertising and pricing that used to be a standard policy of automotive dealerships. Fortunately, most car dealers have outgrown and evolved beyond these low-class methods of business and now treat customers right and with respect. Not at Riverhead Hyundai. ( I have been in the car business for over 12 years and we never mislead anyone with printed come-on ads with deceiving offers and xx tactics. ) I first went there a month or so ago to look at a used 2020 Palisade they had advertised for around $39,990. I met the salesman, we looked at the car, noted a few issues with it, and went inside. I gave him my information, told him I was a cash buyer, and I made an offer on the spot. He went to talk to two people that were sitting at a corner desk area. He came back and told me that not only was my offer not accepted, but that since I was not going to finance with their dealership that the price would be $42,990! $3,000 higher than advertised! WHAT xx crap! On top of that, when I got up to leave, no manager came over to talk with me. A big no-no in this business! Any dealership and management with professionalism does not let a customer walk without a manager greeting them and asking if they can do anything to help. Managers are there to make deals happen, not sit in a corner at a desk and let potential business go away without even saying hello. A couple of days ago, they advertised the same car on a "Sale Price" of $37,695. When I called, the same salesman told me that is the price AFTER I put down $2,000! THAT'S NOT A SALE!! That is total xx and I told him that and that they should be ashamed of themselves. A "sale" is when the price of something is lowered by those who are selling it. Ownership and management at Riverhead Hyundai are a bunch of shameless deceivers who would rather lure people in with false and misleading tactics, than conduct business in a genuinely professional and honest way. Go elsewhere people. There are plenty of Hyundai dealerships who honor the prices they have advertised whether you finance with them or not, and do not tell you a car is on sale when the only way the price actually comes down is if YOU put money towards it. THAT is a new low Riverhead Hyundai. More

I have a large family, busy schedule and so I bough a 7 passenger vehicle to fit my 6 family members that I constantly drive around to different activities. Last week I scheduled a visit and brought my vehicle to Riverhead Hyundai dealership because my downhill brake sensor light randomly came on and wouldn’t turn off. First time I took the vehicle to the dealership, the service department was not able to diagnose during time frame they had my vehicle (7 hrs) I was asked to bring back the vehicle for a longer service period (1-2 days) with the provision that I would be given a curtesy vehicle. Here is where the problem begin. I bought a 7 passenger vehicle because I actually drive 6-7 passengers in that vehicle daily. The dealer was not able to give me a curtesy vehicle that was suitable for my needs. After two days had passed and I haven’t heard back from the dealership, I decided to give them a call myself, and inquire about the status of my vehicle. After some going back-and-forth I was finally told that parts were ordered for my vehicle but the dealership could not release the vehicle back to me until parts arrived and changed on the vehicle. I reiterated that I needed a different courtesy vehicle- the Sonata I was given did not work for my needs. The dealership advised me to contact the headquarters of Hundayi. After several attempts to contact the headquarters with- no success- I decided to leave this review. More
On 2/19/23 the finance person, Kyle Price put an unauthorized charge of $4711.64 on my credit card. I was unable to be present for this business deal, so I sent a signed and dated letter authorizing Riverhead Auto Mall to make a one-time charge of $3000 on my charge card to be used as a downpayment for said car. Despite having that letter, Kyle proceeded to charge $6711.64 on my credit card. The person loaned the card to signed the receipt under duress because Kyle told him if he didn't sign it they would not sell him the car. As soon as I found out, I called and asked to speak to Kyle. He would not get on the phone. I called several times and he would never get on the phone. I filed a complaint with the BBB. In my opinion, people need to beware of this dealership. Reputable dealerships don't do these kinds of things. And, if there is a problem, the person should not be a coward. He should try to correct the issue. More

After 3 years of service I were for an oil change on November 17, 2022 and asked for rear brake inspection and presented a dealer brake coupon for $249 which Donna my service rep said she would honor. S November 17, 2022 and asked for rear brake inspection and presented a dealer brake coupon for $249 which Donna my service rep said she would honor. She then said both front and back brakes needed new rotors. My front brakes were only a year old with only 10,000 miles, so wondered about front, but Donna said no worried, coupon good for both front and back and just small additional amount for rotors. I said ok, but Donna never quoted price. It ended up that she DID NOT honor coupon and total for both brakes, front and back, $1100! WOW! Donna really had duty to give me a price quote BEFORE doing this work. No satisfaction from service manager, Ken. Ken said Donna is a 30 plus years employee and he can't upset her! WARNING: this dealer is dishonest and unethical. DO NOT GO HERE! More
