Great product, but less than exceptional experience I traded in our 2005 3/4 ton diesel for a newer 2011 1 ton diesel, nothing wrong with my old truck, but my wife wanted a crew cab rather than extended I traded in our 2005 3/4 ton diesel for a newer 2011 1 ton diesel, nothing wrong with my old truck, but my wife wanted a crew cab rather than extended cab. As we needed to stick to having a long bed truck, finding something that worked for us was rather difficult (as everything is standard 6.5' bed these days). The salesmen I dealt with (Oscar Sanchez) did a great job on showing me around the truck and taking me out for a test drive, he answered all my questions but the only thing he couldn't tell me about was the exhaust brake so I was on my own to find out about that. When I showed up a week later to see if we could reach a deal, my salesmen wasn't in but I was passed from person to person giving me chit chat while they started looking at my trade in until my salesmen showed up. The gentlemen looking at my trade were content looking at just the face of everything with my trade in and didn't seem to care or hear my comments on all the additions that had been installed on the truck, nor did they even look at what I had tried to point out. When we finally got to looking at numbers, they offered me $4000 less than Kelly Blue Book Value for trading into a dealer, and didn't do anything to the price of the truck I wanted. I had previously looked up Blue Book value and new what it was worth, I was so insulted I began to walk out, but they went back and raised the trade in value a bit and started lowering the price of the new truck. I ended up getting the new truck, but looking back now I wish I had held out for the deal I should have gone with (impulse buy to say the least). I see the dealership has no problem listing my used truck they got for a trade in at the correct Kelly Blue Book price, but they sure didn't give me what KBB said it was worth for dealer trade in. The dealer's website and the extra website's they list on (CarGuru.com) list most of their used inventory incorrectly showing standard bed when they are truly long bed, or vice versa. I even emailed Phil Hendershot to inquire as to the true bed lengths on some of their trucks as the online pictures didn't match the details listed online, and this still hasn't been addressed (either way you classify bed lengths look at their online pictures and look at descriptions, they don't match). When we agreed on price and terms I had asked to finance through a specific institution, got approved, but then when I signed paperwork I find that they used a different financial institution (at the same rate, but not what I had requested). Yet again another sign I should have walked away, but impulse didn't stop me. Overall I'm very happy with the product, but way let down by the dealership and the way business was handled (they must have seen me coming). I drove 1.5 hours to get to this dealership, and I can say I will never recommend them to any friends or family. They did seem to sense my lack of happiness with the sale and offered me loyalty points for service/parts if I come to the dealership for work, but a 3 hour roundtrip for an oil change or quick part is not going to happen, and those loyalty points aren't transferable to my local dealership, so just out of luck. Hope this helps others More
Outstanding Purchase Experience I identified the vehicle I wanted on the dealer's website, which by the way is very well laid out and for me contained all the initial details I neede I identified the vehicle I wanted on the dealer's website, which by the way is very well laid out and for me contained all the initial details I needed as a potential buyer. After contacting the dealership the salesman assured me the vehicle I was interested in would be ready for a test drive upon my arrival. Indeed it was, and after the test drive I decided to test drive a second vehicle. I felt very comfortable in doing so and I felt no sales pressure throughout the entire process. I was also really impressed with the financing assistance I received and the welcoming approach the sales and management staff displayed. This dealership will work with you and based on my experience will also do the best they can with your trade-in. Three thumbs up...and GO CHEVY SS!! More
Our fear of car salesmen My husband and I wanted to buy a new car but didn't want to hear that same old sales pitch. So there we were at Rio Vista Chevrolet. I saw what My husband and I wanted to buy a new car but didn't want to hear that same old sales pitch. So there we were at Rio Vista Chevrolet. I saw what I really would like to buy, but of course I'd have to speak to someone. To our surprise, this was our most pleasant and enjoyable experience when buying a vehicle. Thanks to Phil and Erick. More
Recently took delivery of a new vehicle through Rio Vista. The order process was handled perfectly through Phil Hendershot and he kept me updated frequently as the vehicle was transported (sometimes) Vista. The order process was handled perfectly through Phil Hendershot and he kept me updated frequently as the vehicle was transported (sometimes) across the U.S. through some nasty winter weather. It finally arrived at Rio Vista and in perfect shape. He took the time to help me learn the important parts of operating the vehicle and we did a 20-30 minute check-out ride. He is very knowledgeable about the Chevrolet product line. Also met Davey, the Service Manager, who assured me I could obtain a oil change and inspection during the maintenance coverage prior to when the car said it was to be performed. Altogether, I would highly recommend the Rio Vista Chevrolet dealer. Beats the xxxx out of my experience with our local dealer in San Luis Obispo, Ca. More
My wife and I just purchased a new 2014 Suburban from Rio Vista Chevrolet in Buellton. We had a very challenging finance situation that included a substantial amount of negative equity in our trade in. The Vista Chevrolet in Buellton. We had a very challenging finance situation that included a substantial amount of negative equity in our trade in. The dealership worked with the bank over several days to accommodate our situation and we ended up with a new Suburban on terms that were great! I am a repeat customer and I will recommend this dealership to anyone looking for a new Chevrolet vehicle. More
Horrible!!! Don't buy from these crooks!! I would never recommend this place to any of my friends or family!!! I bought a used suv from them about 7 months ago and I've had nothing but problem I would never recommend this place to any of my friends or family!!! I bought a used suv from them about 7 months ago and I've had nothing but problems with my car and them! About after a week of having the car I started noticing things falling apart, the seatbelt literally fell apart. Looked like they supper glued it together. While making repairs to the suv one of them crashed the front end of my car. Of course they didn't tell me about it but as soon as I got home I noticed and called them. No one wanted to own up to it, not surprising! They ended up fixing the damage but they made me feel like they were doing me a favor! I had to waste so much time driving my car out to them which is about 45 minutes away from me. After they replaced my cracked dash about two weeks later I started noticing a new crack developing looked like they cracked it while installing it and tried to cover it up with some sort of plastic glue like stuff. I peeled it all off to find, sure enough a huge crack on what was suppose to be a new dash. I called them about it they just avoided calling back about it. They never fixed it, they said dashes crack all the time! I was told by the owner that they felt I was taking advantage of them....really??? I took them my car several times to have the transmission look at because of a jerking feeling every time I accelerated. Every time they said it was working fine. Now after all that my transmission has gone out! My car is suppose to be a certified pre owned. I've have so many issues with it. I really don't think they check them like they are suppose to. Don't buy from them unless you want nothing but headaches! And like me you'll be stuck with a peice of junk!!!! More
I think this is the 6th car I've purchased from Rio Vista. I buy there because I know I will always get a fair deal, they will search long and far to find just what I want and they will stand behind t Vista. I buy there because I know I will always get a fair deal, they will search long and far to find just what I want and they will stand behind their product. Heck they even checked the oil level on my existing car in the parking lot (which I wasn't trading in) because I mentioned I wanted to do that. They have a surprisingly large inventory and, as in my case, if they don't have exactly what you want they will find it and ship it to you. Good prices, great sevice and no pressure. What more could you ask for? Simply put, they do it right. More
Rio Vista has always been a great dealership! My family has bought vehicles from Rio Vista since it was once Kelsey & Sons Chevrolet. The customer service and timely response is excellent. Phil Hendershot (Internet Sales Manager) earned my trust through emails and phone conversations. I live in Paso Robles, Ca. and the dealership is 70 miles away in Buelton, Ca. I bought a 2005 Corvette wit through emails and phone conversations. I live in Paso Robles, Ca. and the dealership is 70 miles away in Buelton, Ca. I bought a 2005 Corvette with 20600 miles on it and sold my 2011 Elantra to them over the internet without either of us seeing the vehicles in person until delivery at Rancho Grande Motors in San Luis Obispo, Ca.. I was very pleased with the price of the Corvette and with the trade in value they gave me for my Elantra. The delivery man Al (retired CHP) could not say enough great things about the owners of both Rio Vista Chevrolet (Buelton) and Rancho Grande Motors (San Luis Obispo) the Sell Family. He has known the family for well over 20 years and said that I would be completely satisfied with my purchase and the dealership, as they are honest, caring, and dependable. We also had bought a GMC dually in Paso Robles in the past (it was end of year and most dealers were out of dually's by then including Rancho Grande Motors.) We have always taken our truck to Rancho Grande Motors for service even though we bought it in Paso Robles and it is a much longer drive. We trust the outstanding dealership's Service Dept. with our truck. I purchased the 2011 Hyundai Elantra from Rancho Grande Motors and sold them my previous Corvette and was completely satisfied with the pricing for buying and selling the vehicles that day. The General Sales Manager, Chris Wallace at Rancho Grande Motors is also excellent. I previously would never have thought that I would purchase a vehicle over the internet without even seeing it. Phil Hendershot at Rio Vista Chevrolet, earned my trust and confidence during our deal and made it a very fun experience. I give five stars to him, the Sell Family and their dealerships! Over the years I have purchased many cars but never had an experience where the experience could be termed fun- until I went to RioVista. Initially I started discussing my needs with Sam and then Phil step an experience where the experience could be termed fun- until I went to RioVista. Initially I started discussing my needs with Sam and then Phil stepped in to make sure all went smoothly. The time he spent with me to make sure that I was comfortable with my purchase far exceded my expectations. My demo ride created the opportunity to explore all aspects of my car in great detail and no question was left unanswered. Sam was instrumental in securing my car from another dealer. The attitude of the other dealer was dramatically different then what I found at Rio Vista. To underscore this point Sam personally went the distance to secure my car. Phil took over from that point and insured everything else was perfect. I travled from another state (Nevada) and plan on making all my future auto purchases at RioVista. More
