They told me the truck was sold as is, but they gave the vehicle an inspection and there was nothing wrong with the vehicle...well I have had the truck for 1 year. The windshield leaks...the auto headlight stopped working 3 weeks ago and I have to get the rear brakes and Roters replaced...all of which passed rickenbaughs "inspection" oh before I forget the air conditioner pump went out. That alone was 1200 dollars...I would abou buying anything from their used lot...when paying 24,000 for a vehicle one would think he would get better service and be able to trust their word... More
These guys are pretty much some greedy, foolish squares... I would not recommend this dealership to anyone unless you like wasting money. Their sales are service are not up to par. squares... I have never had such a poor auto buying experience. I walked into this dealership because it is conveniently located right by me. I was turned over to a sales guy named Ron. I told him I had sold my car walked into this dealership because it is conveniently located right by me. I was turned over to a sales guy named Ron. I told him I had sold my car and needed a new one asap and was about to pull the trigger on a Lexus when a friend told me to take a look at a Volvo first. So, I came in with questions. He handed me a brochure and said they could all be answered in there. I remained friendly and kept asking questions. He told me to walk around and open up any car in the show room and sit in it and take a look. I felt like I was bothering him. After looking in a few of the cars (brochure in hand), I asked him about pricing so I could compare it with the Lexus quotes I had just received. He told me that was not possible to get until he ran my credit score. I replied that I had already completed this with Lexus and had a copy with me in the car. He said finance would have to get involved and he could not use the one from Lexus. At this point I walked out and told him to have a nice day. I would highly recommend finding ANY other dealership to deal with besides this one. More
The employees at this dealership made purchasing a car easier than ever! They listened as I explained exactly what I wanted and the budget I had, and then delivered exactly that! I never once felt like an easier than ever! They listened as I explained exactly what I wanted and the budget I had, and then delivered exactly that! I never once felt like anyone was just trying to make the sale or make some money, but they were genuinely trying to put me in a car that I would be happy with. My purchase was also thrown into a time crunch because I was in the process of moving, and they were so helpful in making it happen. More
I was helping my father in law buy a used XC70 and noticed the dip stick and fill cap had serious sludge reside. My sales man said we could talk to a mechanic about it, so we took the car down to service, and I was told it was normal. What would have been normal is to blush while telling me this line. What would have been real is to at least say that it looks like the oil change interval was exceeded over the life of the car. I find it interesting that this dealership had done all the maintenance for the life of this car. I would never use service department. More
The buying experience was okay. Sales person seemed disinterested at best to work with me. I'm a young guy so I guess I can see that, but it took 2 days to finish the deal, and she could have cared less. Didn't up date me at all through out the process to let me know if the bank had went through. She seemed like she just wanted to make a sale. What ever, I went there cause the car I wanted was a good deal, and had been shopping around for a used car for a very long time. I expressed concerns about the car - specifically that Jaguar's don't have the best reliability reputation and that I spotted obvious problems on the vehicle. I noticed one of the air shocks had obvious leaks on it, since that corner of the vehicle was sitting far lower than any other corner, I expressed concern over various other electrical components of the vehicle, and was assured constantly that if anything was wrong, their technicians would have fixed it during their "rigorous inspection". What a joke. I drove the car for half a day, and then went on vacation with my family. When I came back I tried to open to the sunroof and it didn't open. I should have tried opening the sunroof on the lot, but since this was my first time opening it, I don't think it was a coincidence that it suddenly didn't work anymore. Leaks in the suspension have only gotten worse as well. I emailed and called the sales person I worked with multiple times and she never returned any of the calls or emails. So I eventually called the used cars sales manager who got back to me quickly. He seemed nice, and empathetic and told me to bring the car in asap. So I brought it in the next day. He had me bring it to their service shop to look at it, where some dude promptly looked at it for a whl,e of 5 seconds before he said, we don't work on foreign cars, you're going to have to take it somewhere else. If you don't work on foreign cars, how are you supposed to "rigorously inspect" a vehicle and then fix any problems on it? This guy recommended me to a european shop - who has actually been a whole lot better than them - so they give me the address to go to, and tell me he's expecting me. I get there, and this guy has had no heads up that I was sent over there. He has to call to the dealership multiple times to try and get a hold of the service guy and Jon to figure out what he's supposed to do. About an hour later one of them calls him back and tells him the sunroof isn;t working and he needs to look at it. This guy at the shop is a pretty nice guy, does customer service well, and genuinely seems sorry that they didn't call ahead or do anything and that they just threw me "into the wolves". So this guy tells me that he has to do a little research on parts and that he'll call the used car sales manager, Jon, about it since Jon said they would cover it. Well from there on out I played phone tag with Jon for 3 weeks. I called him every other day asking him if he had heard from the shop, all the time him saying he hadn't. Then I called the shop and the guy who I had been dealing with said he has left him multiple messages ( i tend to believe this guy much more since he's getting paid by this dealer, so why wouldn't he be trying to contact him for a quick job?) Finally, 3 days ago after calling him every day in a week and leaving messages he gets back to me and says, "I'm sorry, I've been out of town for a week. We will only cover half the job now" Oh really you've been out of town? Why would you constantly tell me that you would call me back the next day? He constantly seemed like he was just trying to blow me off and was hoping I wouldn't call back. And then to renig on a deal where he says they'll cover the repairs and suddenly won't? At that point I was so fed up and just wanted it taken care of. I could either have said no to the deal and paid way more out of pocket or just dealt with it. I chose to dealt with it, since I couldn't get my sunroof to close, and since this car is my daily driver, I could never take it out in snow or rain. Which really isn't going well since I have to work and go to school full time. More

After getting the run-around several times from Volvo costumer care 1-800 numbers, I was fed up. I decided to take my car into Rickenbaugh to see if anyone was willing to listen and help me. Keith Smerch costumer care 1-800 numbers, I was fed up. I decided to take my car into Rickenbaugh to see if anyone was willing to listen and help me. Keith Smerchek, part of the service department at Rickenbaugh, greeted me with a warm hello, and I immediately felt like I was going to (at least) get an answer for my problem. Not only was Keith friendly and helpful, but I felt he genuinely cared about the issue I was having. He could tell I was a bit deterred at this point, spending countless days trying to find anyone who cared enough to at least point me in the right direction. He went above and beyond. Never have I encountered such great costumer service from any service department regarding any car I have ever owned. He told me what needed to be done, and what I could do to achieve this. He kept in contact with me throughout the day as he inspected my issue. What I thought might be a week+ long process, turned into a short days work. Keith Smerchek accommodated me in every way possible, and kept me informed and made sure I had a clear understanding of the situation. After almost six months of trying to resolve this issue, Keith Smerchek took care of me in half a days work. I am so thankful for him, and his service he provided to me. I will be referring my friends and family to him, since we are all Volvo-lovers. Rickenbaugh is the only place I will take my car into now. The whole staff was amazing and comforting. I am thankful I made the choice to stop in because now I have a place I can trust with my beloved car, anxiety-free. Overall, the whole experience was amazing. I don't usually take time out of my busy schedule to write reviews, however, Keith Smerchek earned it, and anyone who reads this, I highly recommend talking to Keith about any service department issues you may have. All in all, great experience. Rickenbaugh has a loyal costumer from this point on. Never been so satisfied with the treatment I received. Also, the courtesy shuttle driver to took me home while the problem was being resolved was amazing as well. I wish I could remember his name. If you come to Rickenbaugh, I can assure you, you will be more than pleased with the service you were provided with. More
Problems with purchasing a new Volvo. My wife and I are in the process of buying a new Volvo XC70, via the Costco Auto Purchase program. We were put in touch with one of the salespeople at Rickenbaugh (Bu in the process of buying a new Volvo XC70, via the Costco Auto Purchase program. We were put in touch with one of the salespeople at Rickenbaugh (Bud) and he made a quick initial contact. From there, no response to email questions about the process and the car (two emails asking about the timeline for purchase and differences between trim packages). We live 3.5 hours drive away from the dealership, so internet interaction is required. Disappointing - this is a large purchase for us, and we expected better. We have been referred by Costco to another dealer who is providing excellent support. Two stars for the quick initial response. More
