Unprofessional Explanation of Overbooking Service Called a week in advance to schedule service for oil change and tire rotation and indicated that we needed to wait since we were coming from out of to Called a week in advance to schedule service for oil change and tire rotation and indicated that we needed to wait since we were coming from out of town. Appointment was scheduled for 1:00. When checking in, we asked for an approximate wait time and were told that they weren't sure since there were two others ahead of us. I reiterated that I had a scheduled appointment and was told that others had the same appointment time. Two other customers overheard this and indicated that, they too had 1:00 appointments and they became visibly upset. They asked the advisor why multiple people were booked for the same time and the response was."I'm not sure why they do that". Another Hendrick employee then interjected that the appointments are made in a call center in NC and that the agents are paid by the appointment so they don't care if they overbook. Ultimately, our wait turned out to be reasonable, but one of the other customers rescheduled when she was told that they could not give her a time-frame because others were ahead of her. Just found the whole experience to be unprofessional and felt that the public should not have to hear about Hendricks' "dirty laundry". Company may want to reconsider scheduling criteria based on actual shop capacity. More
