Bought a van to provide a reliable vehicle for my family from Richard Victor. He told me a spare and kit was provide along with 8 free oil changes. I purchased the van and came to pick up the next day to be from Richard Victor. He told me a spare and kit was provide along with 8 free oil changes. I purchased the van and came to pick up the next day to be told that I would be provided a rentacar and it wasn’t ready. 2 days later they delivered it to my house and I asked simple questions about the interior buttons, etc. Come to find out the DVD player doesn’t work unless the van is parked, which doesn’t make sense and therefore serves no purpose for keeping children entertained during car rides. I also asked where the spare was located and he said it was located through the center console button on the floor between the driver and passenger seat and it was underneath the van. He also said a jack and all parts required were provided in the back. He must have gotten the models mixed up because the manual to the van I received was for a completely different model and when I experienced a flat tire the other day, AAA and I discovered there is no spare tire nor any tools besides a tire pump system (doesn’t work for flats just slightly damaged tires). I called him to tell him this news to see if he had any suggestions for the $1000 needed to replace my tires when I have had it for less than 2 years with less than 40.000 miles and how it is $800 for a spare kit (that we were told was provided upon purchase) and he HUNG UP ON ME. He was on speaker and my husband witnessed this unprofessional and disrespectful conversation of him repeating that he could have said anything two years ago, meaning he remembered and didn’t want to admit his dishonesty. I was polite on the phone and was simply looking for assistance. It is clear that he is a great example of a salesman who does not care about anything but money, which could be a reflection of the company as well. It is sad that an older man saying how he is a father of two girls and felt a van would be perfect for our family would put a woman and her family at risk with misleading information and not even give my husband and I the time to talk on the phone for more than 4 minutes before be hung up. Instead of being a respectful man who recognizes his dishonesty and apologizing, he hung up. We weren’t looking for money or even a solution- just recognize your actions and do not do it again to another family. Luckily a wonderful woman named Ashley at the Savannah Highway location gave us a discount on tires and was super kind. Overall, with the exception of her kindness, I am embarrassed for having trusted Richard and putting my family at risk for a brand new $27,000 vehicle with misleading promises and poor features. I have informed all of my family, friends, and colleagues of this matter and recommend to stay far away from this establishment. Every time I drive the van and every payment made toward this vehicle is now a reminder of poor judgement with the staff and service at the North Charleston location. I never should have trusted this man and will never buy a vehicle from them again, and highly recommend everyone do the same. More
