A terrible experience The check engine light in my Equinox came on om a Saturday at 3:30. I called Rick Hendrick to make on appointment. My call went to voice mail. I le The check engine light in my Equinox came on om a Saturday at 3:30. I called Rick Hendrick to make on appointment. My call went to voice mail. I left a message requesting an appointment. I did not hear from them on Saturday. Sunday was Easter, so I know I would not hear from them, I expected to get a call on Monday. I did not get one by 11am, so I called to make an appointment. I was told the soonest they could get me in was Wednesday. I believe my appointment was for 10am. I arrived a few minutes early. I waited for 30 minutes before a representative greeted me and got my car checked in. I expected to have a diagnosis by the end of the day. By 4pm I had not heard anything so I called. The receptionist told me that Joe, my advisor was away from his desk and she would leave him a message to call me back. I did not get a call back that day. I called again on Thursday. I left another message for Joe to call me. Late in the day he finally called. This means I was without a car for 2 days at this point and had missed 2 days of work. He asked me if the car had been in an accident. I said yes it had been back in November. He said that the shop who repaired it had done some thing improperly and that was what was causing the problem. Ho told me I needed to contact my insurance company and that this would have to go through the insurance,He also told me not to drive until the repairs were done. So, I called the insurance company, Progressive, They told me to take it to Gerber, who had done the repairs after the accident. I took Friday off from work to get my car from Rick Hendrick and Drive it to Gerber. When I got to Gerber they looked at the diagnostic report and told me that they don't do those kind of repairs and it would have to go back to Rick Hendrick. I called the insurance company back to see what they wanted done. They told me to take it back to Rick Hendrick. I called Rick Hendrick and was told they could not get me an appointment for a week. The insurance company set me up with a rental car on Saturday. I missed a total of 4 days of work at that point due to being told not to drive the car, So, took it back to Rick Hendrick for the appointment. Was told the parts were on back order with no estimated arrival date. Also, Catillitic converter was probably damaged due to me driving back and forth between Rick Hendrick and Gerber. Gerber says they won't pay for this to be repaired. Rick Hendrick says they also won't pay. So, this was not replaced and I don't know what I'm going to do about this. I'm not sure how long it took for the part to come in, but after about a week it did. Now Gerber has the car so they can complete some other minor repairs they missed the first time. This has been an incredibly frustrating experience. In the future, I will not be doing business with Rick Hendrick, The lack of communication was awful. The amount of time all of this is taking is unacceptable. The only good thig about this experience is that the rental car I've been in for 5 weeks is a Jeep Cherokee and When I replace the Equinox that is what I will be buying. More
Terry is always great! Service in the back is lacking.. A customer that has an appointment, and is staying and waiting, should not have to sit for 4 hours or more.
