We visited tonight on 6/5 from okc. We’ve been searching for a car for my mother for about a month due to hers being totaled in the Norman hail storm. She would’ve never gotten rid of her car otherwise so the process has been stressful. We were greeted by Ryan and in under 30 minutes he had us ready to buy. We thought that was pretty impressive! He was attentive, kind, funny, and just awesome. Incredibly personable. I cannot say enough good things about him. I was planning to buy a car in about a year with another brand, but he changed my mind and gained my business. After going through payment options, we decided it would be best to head back to okc and speak with our bank on Monday. We have a trusted advisor that always works with us and handles our money. We asked for a purchase order and Ryan got us into finance. That’s the beginning of our trouble. We worked with Zachy for about 6 minutes. He said he would have us out quick and he sure did that. When he “greeted us” if you could call it that, he looked us up and down. Judging our appearance, I’m assuming. He asked why we weren’t financing that night. I explained that the payment they gave us was too high and we were going to work something out in okc and would come back once approved. I explained that we had a loan lady we trust and have worked with always. He deeply insulted us by saying in a very xxxxty tone that “no loan lady or loan officer that makes 40k a year is going to make anything special happen for you. She may have made you feel special but you aren’t.” He said it as if we were dirty or stupid. Like we didn’t know what we were talking about. He continued by saying he could run it through them tonight. We agreed. He then looked at our credit and said “Oh. Did you have better credit when we purchased your previous car?” I said I didn’t have any credit at the time. He then said “Well I’m not even going to run this with these numbers. I’ll print the purchase order and get you out of here. If you get approved you can come back, but if not I’ll shred this.” We were shocked. The way he said it, said everything, was derogatory and almost assuming that we wouldn’t be back. He printed off docs for us to sign. We didn’t and still don’t know what we signed. When we tried to ask questions he brushed them off as if they weren’t worth his time. He highlighted places to sign and just pointed. When we attempted to look at the amounts listed on the PO, he moved the paper and just motioned for us to keep signing. He made copies and practically threw the stack at us when he saw we had missed a signature. He pointed to each of us and said “YOURE YELLOW AND YOURE GREEN” as if we were idiots!!! We missed 1 page. He folded up the paperwork and put it in an envelope, threw it on the desk, and said we were done. He grabbed his coat to leave before we could stand up and flew out behind us. He made us feel dirty. Poor. Unwelcome and unworthy. I have never in my life felt as degraded and disrespected as he made us feel tonight. The experience with him completely ruined any happiness my mother had about the car. I spent two hours on the drive back to okc crying because of how badly he offended us. I cried in the parking lot when we told Ryan what happened. Even though my mother loved the car, and we’ve been on the hunt for a solid month, we’re considering letting it go because of how we were treated in Zachys office. They closed at 9 and by the time we pulled off it was only about 9:05-9:10. I’m not sure what Zachys problem was or where he had to go in such a hurry, but I would’ve rather waited 20 more minutes for another advisor than to have dealt with him and his attitude. We may not have the greatest credit or the highest paycheck, and we may not drive as nice of a car as Zachy does or dress in the fanciest way, but we thought we at least deserved a little respect and human decency when buying a 21k car from your dealership. I don’t know if we will come back, but if we do it will only be because of Ryan and the kindness he showed. More
