This is the 2nd car I've bought from this dealer. They are relaxed, friendly and without the high pressure tactics of other dealerships. You know how car dealerships are supposed to be pushy, oily, and all about selling you a car you don't want? Yeah, Shawnee Mission Hyundai is none of those things. My girlfriend and I went in looking for a used car that matched some specific needs mile, price, and year-wise. Tracy Bean went the extra mile (and I mean literally, we drove to everyone of their sister lots looking for the right car) to find a vehicle that fit my requirements. We were able to test drive numerous options and even allowed to take the, ultimately final, car out too lunch, just to have some extended time to see if it was the right fit. Thanks to Tracy and Criss Castle working to finagle the price down to the amount that worked for me, I was able to drive away with a 2007 Kia Spectra that made me quite giddy. My girlfriend and I might be a little bit quirky, but I know we'd both describe the day as actually being FUN. We can say that because Tracy and the entire staff of Shawnee Mission Hyundai acted like human beings; joking with us, telling us the truth, and, overall, not acting as if they were Salesbot 3000s. Anyone who's looking for a quality used car needs to look no further than Shawnee Mission Hyundai. More
I was very pleased and impressed with the Shawnee Mission Hyundai dealership, and even more so with Tracy Bean. I came to the dealership not really sure what I wanted or what I was even able to get. The staff was very helpful and very determined to get me the car I wanted, and they did! Talking to Tracy was just like talking to a member or your family. I was looking to purchase a used Hyundai from Shawnee Mission Hyundai. They had a good selection and the physical showroom was great in that it was all inside. She was helpful and not pushy. I thought the dealership negotiated fairly as well. I purchased a 2006 Sonata GLS from them. I found a few things wrong with the car both before and after I purchased it, things that were not covered by the 30-day warranty. The dealership paid for all of the fixes, over $500 worth of work. The car is literally as good as new now. I'm very pleased with the entire encounter. More

I found my experience to be the best that I have ever had buying a car! I was honestly just browsing at Shawnee Mission Hyundai. My experience at SM Hyundai was great from the minute I walked in. I was greeted by Bob Wright who showed me the Sonata I was interested in and explained the upgrades the new model had over last year's mo walked in. My parents mentioned they were in the market for a new car while I was visiting from out of town, so I suggested we go look while I was there. I've purchased new cars several times now, and they haven't, so I thought I could help shield them from any pushy sales and finance people. When we visited Shawnee Mission Hyundai, Bob Wright was our sales person, and he ended up being the nicest, most professional, and non-pushy car salesperson I've ever worked with. He was also extremely knowledgeable about all the features of the cars, which was refreshing. (In the past at other dealerships, I've known more about features than the salesperson, which is ridiculous.) My parents weren't sure which model or trim package they were interested in, and Bob was very patient with explaining the differences and benefits of each. Also, my father has difficulty walking distances, so Bob drove all the different cars and colors we were considering (there were several) up to the front so my Dad didn't have to walk all over the lot. When we finally picked out a car, Bob made sure we were able to finish the paperwork process even though it was after closing time, as I wanted to be present during the signing of everything (I was leaving town soon). To get the color we wanted, he even personally drove to another dealer to pick up a car in that color. Last but not least, my parents had been driving the same car for over 10 years (a very basic model), and they're older, so all the gadgets and buttons on the inside of the Sonata were a little foreign to them (XM, Bluetooth, etc.). Bob took the time to review, step-by-step, all the features and buttons that you and I wouldn't think twice about how to use - again, extremely friendly and patient throughout the whole process. He even showed them how to properly install their 2 car seats in the backseat for the grandkids (using the child seat tethers). All in all, I recommend this dealership, but I especially recommend you ask for Bob Wright when you get there! More
I purchased my new car approximately 2 years ago. Due to the fact that I had been driving company cars for 10+ years, this was truly my first real car purchase as a sole purchaser. As a result, I was pretty nervous and maybe a little defensive about the possibility of being "taken advantage of". My experience was anything but that. I was impressed by Bob's professionalism and just how enjoyable the whole process was. I was allowed to take the car, which I ended up purchasing, home for the evening to drive overnight. This gave me a better feel for the car than just a standard test drive. The customer service didn't stop at the purchase. Whenever I've stopped in at the dealership, for service or for a simple question, they always make me feel comfortable and welcome. I always recommend Bob and Shawnee Mission Hyundai whenever anyone is in the market for a new car. Bob is honest and treats his clients with integrity and respect! I will definitely look at SM Hyundai when I am ready to purchase again! More
my experience with this dealership is the worst one I ever had in my life. First they give you a sheet explaining what type of loan you qualify for but at the end what they offer you is not even close to ever had in my life. This is not even the worst part about this dealership,the worst part is when they started asking me to put money down. I refused to put any money down and decided to cancel everything and just get my old car back. When they gave me my car, I notice my car felt a little weird, but it wasn't until I tryed to use my reverse that I noticed that my velocities were off. Now I can't even drive my original car, and I'm sure this is going to be expensive to repair. I tryed calling the dealership back but they keep sending us to voicemail. I can't understand how a dealership can do this to their costumers if you can avoid going to this dealership please do. If not just make sure you are ok with the final contract and do not leave your trade-in on their hands until you are sure you are buying a new car. I would also like to add that their front desk ladies are rude to costumers. More
