I can only think of one customer who would write such things about me at 2:39 am on a Wednesday morning. Here's the story and I'm not making this up. We sold a a 7 year old Corvette that was traded into us and the car couldn't be nicer, low miles, super clean non smoker. A super nice car. A potential customer came in test drove it, checked it out everything. He came back said he wanted it. He said there was one problem a clicking noise in the rear when you changed from reverse to 1st and released pressure from the clutch. We checked that out and we lubed the splines where the axle connects to the hub (a common noise, but not an actual mechanical fault)and that stopped the moise. We scheduled his pick up of the car and we had him go over the car before payment and him taking the car. After his drive and looking over the car he told the salesmen that the AC wasn't working and the climate control unit wasn't working. The salesmen came and got me and I looked at it and I apoligized for it going bad and he's not obligated to take the car. I then offered one of the three options: 1. He can have his deposit back 2. He can leave the car and we will order a new climate control unit and when it comes in we will fix the problem.

then he can take delivery 3. Take the car the way it is and when the part comes in we will fix the problem. He chose option 3 The very next afternoon is when it starts to get interesting. He starts complaining to me that the AC doesn't work and that the car is missing a key. New Corvettes should come with 2 remotes and one valet/emergency key. This car was traded with only the two remotes, which wasn't an issue when he took the car. I told him I would call him back. We called the prior owner who said he didn't get the emergency key when he bought it and then I called a few local Chevy dealers trying to see who could get me a key and also find out if any had the AC part. I call him back to tell him I would get him the key which my cost was $39 bucks and the dealer around the corner would do it and I would pay for it and have it for him tonight. He then starts complaining that the A/C isn't working, well that was a known issue before he took the car. So I reiterated what we had just spoken about yesterday and that it was actually written in plain English on the Buyer's order. So what was the problem? He started ranting about it was too hot and going on and on, so I assured him that we would fix it. After the phone call I run up to the Chevy dealer to get him the key, but they won't give it to me because I don’t have a registration and insurance card showing proof of ownership. I try my best to convince them to give me the key but it didn’t matter they wouldn’t budge. I told them I would send the customer here and that Red Bank Volvo would be paying the fee. I then called him back to update him about the key and that he would just have to go to Chevy as the actual owner and get the key and I would give him the $39.00. He then shows up at the dealership stating I’m lying about the key. I ask what lies? and he said he’d been calling Chevy dealers and that another Chevy dealer other than the one I said he could get the key at stated that I called them about a key. I told him I called 4 Chevy dealers getting prices and availability on the Key and AC part to see which one could get it faster for him. good customer service and that I never lied to him. He then asks for his money back and I said we already deposited it and he already took possession of the car had it over night and that I would honor our original agreement plus get him the key. So I tell him go over to Chevy and they get him the Key and I will pay for it. He doesn’t believe me so I said here take $40 cash and go buy it. He then says that when he called Chevy they told him $42 for the key and I said that $39 must be my wholesale price. He didn’t believe that so I went to Chevy with him and got it done. As I’m leaving Chevy he says if the AC unit doesn’t fix the AC problem he wants to return the car, I said fine I’ll agree to that. The next morning I have 3 messages on my voicemail from him asking when we’re fixing the A/C and that this is no way to treat a customer. These types of messages and calls occur frequently over the next week and finally the part comes in. I have the Service Manager, Chris personally handle him, knowing he needs special care and we schedule him to drop off the car. We get him here, we replace the Climate control head and it’s fixed. He picks car up states he is a DEA agent and to Google his name and Gotti’s name together and see what you come up with. So we do, and it turns out someone with his name was actually involved in the case in 1986, the problem is our guy was born in 1977 and that would make him a 9-year-old DEA agent when all that happened. He also called the service manager who wears glasses a four-eyed f*$@ when he picked up the Corvette. Like, I said in the beginning I’m not making this up. I did learn a lesson; I will never sell another Corvette for the rest of my life. It just wasn't worth it. Sincerly, Rich Matthews President Red Bank Volvo, Inc.

We make our living repairing cars. Old ones, New ones, collisions and more, so if the reveiwers own words don't tell the whole story than continue reading. My family has been repairing and selling cars for 74 years in Red Bank and have always maintained an excellent reputation of being good honest business people. This review is an attempted smear campaign by very bad people who bounce checks and need to be prosecuted in order for us to be compensated for our work. We don't want to do business with these folks and tried to tell them in a way that would hopefully not create conflict. We were wrong. Sincerly, Rich Matthews President Red Bank Volvo, Inc.
