We came to just look but after talking with Clinton we be came customers. We found Clinton to be friendly, very knowledgable, and willing to fit our needs. After we discussed why we were buying, what we liked, what our family needs were, and our budget, Clinton went to work. He appeared very trustworthy and made an immediate connection in trust with us. We find this very rare in the industry. The point is we have not bought a dealership car in more than ten years and have bought 6 cars in ten years for the family before we bought from Clinton. Only from our cousin who was a small dealer/mechanic/broker who bought many cars to order for the likes of proffesional athletes. We were going to by from him again, we were just looking for ideas from your lot. Once Clinton connected with us he began to discuss options. Clinton said he could look at his resources and find what we needed. He said he had some Ideas checked on Line and told us to check back with him as we had to go. He contacted us in a day and met with us the next day. Upon meeting him Saturday he showed us the vehicle on line to check our interest and took us to see the vehicle and test drive it. As we drove he answered all our questions frankly and honestly. We liked the vehicle, liked the pricing and was comfortable enough to buy. We are very pleased with our purchase, and are likely to purchase again from Clinton. More

But we called 5 days later because we had gotten a screw in the sidewall of our tire and I wanted to see what our warranty would cover and I questioned if we had bought the car with the tire like that. I was told we bought the extended warranty on the car but not a tire warranty. We were never told of the tire warranty. The only thing the Manager told us was "I cannot control the debris in the streets of Indianapolis." I was shocked at the lack of customer service. I was thinking we could at least get a deal on a new tire since we had not even had our brand new car for a week but that was not the case at all. I was so upset I went on Facebook and told everyone I knew about the experience and was shocked to see that all of comments were people who had bad customer service experiences as well! I bought a brand new Suzuki 6 years ago and have always had excellent service, especially from the service dept. which is why I was so shocked and upset at the way I was treated. I would suggest not treating the customer horribly once they have spent several thousands of dollars and telling them about the tire warranty available for purchase. I will not return to any Ray Skillman for my next car purchase. Which is sad as this is the 3rd car we have purchased for these dealerships. More
My husband and I were just beginning the process of looking to trade in our car for another used one. We had never looked at Hyundai's before. From the beginning, we were very impressed by Nate Edwar looking to trade in our car for another used one. We had never looked at Hyundai's before. From the beginning, we were very impressed by Nate Edwards' knowledge about all the cars we looked at. He could tell us details about every aspect of the cars. We felt no pressure - it was more like looking around the lot with a young friend who had come with us, not a salesman. When we didn't find the color and price we were looking for, Nate showed us that there was a good prospect on their Greenwood lot. He drove us down there and we found one we really liked. Even though it took most of the day to search and consider and then come to a deal we were happy with, it was a day well spent and we would recommend Nate Edwards to anyone looking for a good car and a good deal. We were also treated well by Chris in the F&I Office during our decision-making on a warranty and all the last minute details. We also loved the cookies! More

Ba It is unusual for me to write a review about most buying experiences I've had - unless the experience was exceptional. In this case it was! Back in March of 2012 I went to check out the 2012 Kia Optima out of curiosity as I had noticed that the quality on Korean make vehicles had come up dramatically in recent years. I wasn't planning on buying a car. I initially went to a different dealer to see the car, and felt it was worthwhile to take it for a drive. Wow! I can say that this was the first car in a long time that I can say I was genuinely impressed with. There was nothing not to like! So, I had to plan carefully and take my time to wear my wife down to let me get this car. In the meantime, I did LOTS of research online through user / owner forums, reviews on dedicated automotive websites, and so on. The research only raised my confidence in the quality of the car and reinforced my desire to get it. In my shopping and pricing adventures dealing with this car, I traveled around to other dealers in the Indianapolis area. I went to the Ray Skillman KIA dealer on the West side, and met salesman Avery Lyons - he really knew his stuff! He was very patient and knowledgeable on all questions I asked, whether the questions were about the car, pricing, or the buying process. I felt that I had to be very careful with this guy – he was extremely patient and courteous with both my wife and I, almost too nice, and never condescending - I didn’t want to let my guard down. Anyway, several more visits and questions ensued, and now were are into June 2012, and I still taking my time to wear my wife down to let me buy the car. And Avery is still being as patient and helpful as ever. At this point I know exactly what model, options, color, etc. I want for the car. Father’s day comes around in June, and my wife wants to take me out to breakfast that morning. She suggests going to a restaurant over in the part of town that the Kia dealer is at, so I can go look at the car some more. Of course I’m all for that! So, we go to the restaurant, have a nice meal, and pay the bill. We’re walking back out to our car in the parking lot, and somebody behind us blows their horn. I turn around wondering who the jerk was, and it was no jerk - its Avery, in a brand new Kia Optima with a big red bow on the hood!! It was the biggest surprise of my life. My wife (boy do I love her!) had arranged with Avery all the details to get the car I wanted. I was speechless. We drove the new car to the dealer to close the deal. At this point I’m wondering if my wife got taken advantage of on the deal. Not to worry. Avery worked hard to get her a very good deal on the new car and our trade – I don’t think I could have negotiated a much better price and terms. Dealing with the sales manager was streamlined and painless. So now comes the time where I really test Avery’s patience and people skills. The color of the car is Titanium Silver, which I really like, but I had my heart set on Corsa Blue. Hey Avery, thanks and all, but do you think I can get the car in Corsa Blue? No problem, he says – we will have to get one from another dealer, and it won’t be until Monday, is that OK? - All without skipping a beat. He didn’t get irritated or ruffled over the request at all. This may seem like a small request, but how the salesman and dealer treat you after the sale speaks volumes about their integrity. In the meantime, they let me drive the silver car over the weekend. Sweet! I have no doubts about the trustworthiness and integrity of Avery Lyons, and since he represents the dealership in the eyes of the customer, it impresses upon me the future interactions I can look forward to from this dealer as being nothing less than top notch. This dealer has earned my trust and respect because of people like Avery Lyons. The people in sales and service are the “face” of the company, and how the customer is treated by them determines whether that customer will be back or not, and what they tell their friends about the dealer. Up to this point in my life, I had looked forward to dealing with a car dealer in purchasing a car about the same as I would look forward to a root canal – not a fun experience. In today’s society, it seems that good service is the exception, rather than the rule. I loathed the thought of playing all the games that seemed necessary to get the best price on a car with a dealer. I don’t feel the same anymore – as long as I can deal with salesmen like Avery and dealers like Ray Skillman! Check it out! You won’t be disappointed. (And remember to ask for Avery Lyons). More
Three years ago we purchased our first auto through Skillman and Colt Key. We lost that car to an accident in which it was totalled. I have always had wonderful service at Ray Skillman West since Robin has been manager. Everyone has always been so kind and helpful. Caitlin,Lindsey,or Robin is always so caring and understanding when i have to change my appointments,and they do not make me feel like i am a "bother" for having to change my appointments. they are always very accomodating in helping me to find an appointment that will work for me.They also are helpful in helping me to determine which coupons will work best for my current service needs,which really helps a lot when it comes to paying. Nobody else has done this for me before during any auto service. this makes me feel special as a customer,and it makes me feel that they understand how important it is to save money when it comes to caring for your car. they are also very good at explaining exactly what is wrong with your car,so you know what you are paying for. recently,when i had to replace the clutch in my car and it was going to take some hours to replace,the ladies here had arranged for me to get a free rental car so i could continue with my errands for the day!i wasnt expecting that,and it was a great surprise to have that taken care of for me. they arranged for the company to come and pick me up,and shortly i was on my way!i was really grateful to them for their help and kindness. i would highly reccomend Ray Skillman West to any customer for friendly,high quality auto care! My experience with with Nate, Vicki and Cory at Ray Skillman puts all other to shame. They were quick to respond to any communication. Honest concerning the information provided. Friendly and personable, maybe even enthusiastic, with helping locate the vehicle I wanted, not just any vehicle from their lot. Nate is well informed about his vehicles as well as other manufactures' offerings. He offered good insight about pros and cons of many vehicles that I was cross shopping in addition the Coupe. Nate was generous and patient with his time, allowing me to drive a number of vehicles to determine which served my needs best. In the end, I did purchase from Ray Skillman and am pleased with all services provided so far. I enjoyed the process and will recommend this team to friends, family and coworkers that are shopping for vehicles. By the way, the 2013 Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track is a blast to drive.
