I've gotten 5 cars from this place through Tommy reed. My 6 car from Joshua which unlike Tommy did not listen instead told me and my husband that the band of cars we like are trash. Every time we have purchased a new Kia Doug Magnuson has handled the financing. Since I spent 40 years in the finance business I can say that he is the most professional F & I man I have ever met. Made the car buying process extremely easy and had great customer service. This was our second car purchased from Ray Skillman GMC. Leah was the representative who helped us. We were able to drive the car home to make sure we liked it, we then went over the entire car to see any issues we wanted to get replaced or repaired. Everything was done quickly and when it was time to go in and pay for the vehicle and take possession everything was all planned out and we were in and out super fast. Will buy here again. More
Terrible experience at Ray Skillman Southside Kia this afternoon. After finding a 2022 Telluride online and confirming availability I attempted to begin an online purchase but had a few questions that I w afternoon. After finding a 2022 Telluride online and confirming availability I attempted to begin an online purchase but had a few questions that I wanted answered before committing. My biggest need here was to have a quick turnaround for a vehicle as purchasing cars is always a nightmare experience that takes over 3 hours. I have a Director level position where I am unable to block off large portions of my day, and the single most important aspect of this discussion was that I didn't want my time wasted. After discussion with the Sales representative I was told that this was more complicated for the vehicle I wanted and that I would need to visit the dealership as these were first-come-first-serve, and he would happily help to expedite the sale. After taking the afternoon off work, and driving over an hour to the dealership, I met the salesperson. He requested the keys to the vehicle and was told that the car had just been promised to be held for a couple that was driving in from over 2 hours. I asked what time the other couple called, which was dodged, clearly indicating that I was first to the car. I was also at the dealership with cash in hand only to be told that the first-come-first-serve car was being held, against policy. I contacted the GM and after 2 conversations was offered to order a car without markups, which might I add is backordered for months. Pretty much adding insult to injury on the worst experience I have ever had at a car dealership. The summary take home is that, 1) this dealership participates in unethical double-standard sales tactics where customers are given special treatment in a supposedly first-come-first-serve environment. 2) There is very poor customer service and communication on the general sales floor indicating poor overall management from the top, which was confirmed after 2 unresolved conversations with the General Manager, who failed to act ethically and lost any future business and an immediate 40K sale. 3) My wasted time today equated to $251.25 of missed time, gas to and from the dealership, and an entire evening of compete rage and disbelief over a very poorly handled sales situation. I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere for a vehicle. Given my experience just walking through the door, I can't even imagine what kind of tactics and poor customer service would follow into the buying process, then downstream if god forbid, any service was required. This car dealership perpetuates the age old stigma of slimey car dealers and unethical salespeople. This is the type of business that gives car sales, and the sales industry overall a bad name. More
The General Manager is committed to customer service. He responded to my inquiry from this site, when I was just trying to figure out who the GM was. I had a same day response to my email concerning custome responded to my inquiry from this site, when I was just trying to figure out who the GM was. I had a same day response to my email concerning customer satisfaction with purchase and service. He called me that same day when my concerns about service department missteps had become apparent, and from that moment forward I had no further issues with the service department. I purchased a NEW 2011 GMC Sierra 2500HD diesel from this dealer in 2011. It had problems from day one - for starters I noticed oil on my garage floor the morning after I picked up the truck. MANY problems with this truck over the course of 10 years. I should have claimed the Lemon Law but I kept being promised that they would get it fixed. I swear that up until this last repair they had a guy that just graduated the 8th grade working on it. This new guy, Jake, fixed the problem this time and I had faith in his abilities but to be truthful I no longer had faith in the truck with only 60,000 miles on it. I even tried to trade it off to them (remember this is where I also purchased it from) as soon as it came out of their repair shop and they insulted me with a $13,000 trade-in value so after this last $2,000 worth of repairs I drove it off the lot and straight to a Toyota dealership that offered me - at first - $30,000 trade-in value and we went from there. This use to be my go to place for auto's. But something has changed in the last decade and I'll most likely never purchase another vehicle from there again. Colt and the guys went out of the way to take care of us as we are stuck out of town with our camper. They got us in a 2020 GMC 3500HD Denali and we love it.
