Amy was really helpful in showing me a variety of vehicles that fit my budget and criteria. I was extremely excited for my Volvo S80 purchase and I recommend this dealership daily to my family and friends looking for a new or used vehicle. More
My wife and I live in New York City, but we did our homework on Autotrader.com (a great resource, by the way), and found a variety of late model Volvos we were interested in. We visited three Volvo dea homework on Autotrader.com (a great resource, by the way), and found a variety of late model Volvos we were interested in. We visited three Volvo dealers in the New York City area, and while the selection of cars was adequate the attention and professionalism (and friendliness) left something to be desired. Don't know if this is a NYC issue or what. However, we did pinpoint the kind of car we were interested in ... a late-model Volvo XC70. Later, my wife and I huddled over our Autotrader.com saved list, and narrowed our choice of dealers to four in Pa. and N.J. We figured we'd hit these two states first, then if we couldn't do a deal we'd focus on Conn. the next weekend. Our first visit was 2 hours west to Ray Price, in East Stroudsburg, Pa. We drove up and Amy stepped forward greeting us with a big smile. She introduced us to Meagan, another sales associate, and with her own big smile. Amy showed us the car we came to look at, demonstrated the various options ... and offered us a hamburger or hot dog and a soft drink! It seems that Ray Price Volvo has a barbecue on Saturdays, weather permitting, and everything is free! A small issue, I know, when you're paying $30,000 for a car, but a very friendly gesture. The deal was a good one -- maybe things are a little cheaper in general in the Pennsylvania countryside, compared with New York, and for that reason alone I'd recommend driving a little to see what kind of deal you can get. But the fact is most all cars are priced somewhat similarly, with slight variations, and it's the little things that count IMHO. The barbecue setup was just one example of it. Heck, our little pup, Hoover, was even offered a hot dog of his own, which he happily consumed. Greg took us through the inevitable upgrades (we opted for an extended warranty, but nothing else), and even though our old Volvo wasn't worth much they took it off our hands via trade in. That was Saturday. On Monday, they phoned us to ask if everything was OK and our trip back to NYC was a good one. My only regret is that we can't avail ourselves of Ray Price's service center, since we live so far away. However, I would certainly go back to buy our next car and would recommend that others check them out as well. By the way, this is a completely voluntary assessment and review ... no compensation involved, unless you count the hot dogs! More
