Ray Catena Land Rover responded

Mr. Rascio, we’ve reviewed all the fault codes present on your vehicle. Catalyst Efficiency below threshold – internal failure and NOx Catalyst Efficiency below threshold – incorrect operation. As per Land Rover Workshop Procedure, the manufacturer recommends replacing the defective parts hence you were provided an estimate. Nowhere in the manual does it say “clean” sensors, as the problem will probably reoccur. We apologize for any misunderstanding. Feel free to contact us for any further questions/assistance. So your response is essentially that you just take what the error codes say and cross reference them with what the manufacturer recommends? If that's the case then there really isn't much service being done at Ray Catena. Could've been a bad converter or a rear O2 sensor or both. You didn't even put forth the effort of would looking at what the O2 reading was. Could have also been a bad signal being sent as well since my vehicle has a history of that occurring. Since the car had no other signs that the catalytic converter was faulty I had asked (and was willing to pay for) various other alternatives including a disassembly and cleaning of all the components but was told that wasn't an option because it was a diesel. Turns out that was incorrect and borderline deceptive. I'm very surprised at the dealerships lack of effort and "well that's what the system says" attitude. My family has purchased cars there since the 80s when Ray himself was selling Mercedes but after this I will never be able to recommend Ray Catena to anyone again.
