BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. • They had the wrong car price on the initial estimate. Was $1,000 higher on the estimate than online price. I pointed it out and they corrected it. Had I not done that, they would have screwed me over. • We asked if there was a discount he can offer, so we can get a lower car price. He said let me see what my manager can do. We did some back and forth. He said he can get us a discount if we took all the add ons. His manager dropped a portion of the monthly payment. Guess what? Was NOT a discount. Found out AFTER signing papers that they removed 4 year warranty and GAP insurance. Not a DISCOUNT at all and fooled us into accepting all add ons except tint. Also, we asked for a specific itemized breakdown the entire time and he kept telling us we would get it after signing (finance guy also said the same thing) • During the walk through/tour, the sales rep was explaining the different add ons saying they were OPTIONAL and we would need to schedule a time to get everything installed. This point is important to a point below. Remember, he said OPTIONAL and would need to SCHEDULE to install add ons. • Used car was under 75,000 miles and sales rep said it came with a 1 month / 1,000 miles warranty. When finance guy, Isaiah, did the paperwork, he marked it AS IS – NO WAARANTY. We pointed this out and they had to confirm with each out, finance guy acknowledged his mistake and got it corrected. • Finance guy was going through the warranties/coverages. Said GAP insurance was required. We told him the sales rep told us we didn’t need GAP insurance. They looked at each other and the finance guy told the sales rep guy no, they NEED the GAP insurance. Then he corrected himself and said he would highly RECOMMEND it. • After signing, we only paid HALF the downpayment. We thought a lot about it over the weekend, numbers didn’t make sense and after all those ISSUES/MISTAKES, we didn’t want the car anymore. Come Monday, we called and asked if we could return the car, finance guy said no, MN doesn’t have a cooling period. We said okay, can we drop off all the add ons and warranties. He said he will see what he can do. Came in and sat us down. We told him the cost doesn’t make sense and after all the mistakes, we didn’t want any of the add ons and warranty/coverages anymore. He talked with his manager and came back. Said he can drop warranty and GAP insurance. For add ons, apparently ALL CARS in their lot gets the $899 Clearshield and $1095 Auto Butler pre-installed before selling. This is $1,994 MANDATORY ADD ONS that was NEVER COMMUNICATED or DISCLOSED on the initial estimate that it was MANDATORY. This CONTRADICTS the sales rep saying OPTIONAL add ons and NEEDED TO STILL BE SCHEDULED TO GET INSTALLED. BASICALLY LIED. He said he got approval to remove the $899 weather mats and $200 identity protection. They wouldn’t remove the $499 diamond fusion and $1095 rust proofing even though it has NOT been installed yet. He said from a business standpoint and seeing we already signed the contract, we were legally binded and that he was helping us by removing some of the stuff already. We kept going back and forth and trying to understand why we couldn’t remove charges for those not installed yet and we haven’t made the other 50% downpayment yet. He gave us the ultimatum that it was either the original contract or the modified contract. With this ultimatum, we had to sign the modified contract. • In summary, I would NOT recommend this dealership at all. Sales rep lied and screwed us over. Finance guy gave us the ultimatum of either original contract or modified contract. No disclosure before signing that $499 Clearshield and $1095 Auto Butler are MANDATORY charges. Super unprofessional with their many mistakes during the whole process. BUYER BEWARE. DON’T GO HERE. More
If you want to spoil not only your day, but also have consequences after buying a car, welcome Rapids Honda to Coon Rapids. Today I faced discrimination against myself. Perhaps because I am a woman, and consequences after buying a car, welcome Rapids Honda to Coon Rapids. Today I faced discrimination against myself. Perhaps because I am a woman, and my English is far from perfect. But you guys can't bully people because they can't defend themselves. After the last check of my car 2024 year of manufacture, an oil leak was detected. An advisor named Chad said that it was okay, and I could continue driving, leaving footprints in every parking space. But I scheduled an appointment to fix the problem. Chad's manager, his name is Shane, confirmed that this is not such a problem, I can continue to drive and put oil stains in all parking lots. When I asked for a car for rent, since mine was left with them for repair, they began to be rude to me, their behavior was stunningly unpleasant. Especially the behavior of the manager in front of his employees, he showed how to "correctly" treat customers. I was very worried, I felt dizzy, my heart hurt, and I asked how they could be so rude to their clients? To which I heard the answer that this is their usual tone of conversation. I asked the supervisor to talk to me and they told me that he was absent from work. And I went inside the large center and approached the first worker I came across. Later it turned out that worker was a supervisor. That is, they lied to me, looking me in the eyes! How can you trust such companies after that, whose employees are incompetent, who have not been taught to talk to customers, lie to people's eyes instead of learning to manage their emotions? What shocked me the most was when I burst into tears, even the supervisor left me in the middle of the hall among other clients and just went to his office. The manager Shane came to him, and they just mocked. Shane walked out of the office with a big smile, turning his head away from me. This is what is considered "normal". SUCH WORKERS will make America GREAT! More
DO NOT BOTHER, They to take advantage their customers Decided to give them a try without looking at their reviews. Big waste of time. We met a salesperson called Bobby. We clearly stated we customers Decided to give them a try without looking at their reviews. Big waste of time. We met a salesperson called Bobby. We clearly stated we did not need a test drive and were looking for their lowest price. Bobby insisted we test drive while the car manager looked at out trade. After almost 40 minutes of a test drive and an unnecessary tour of the dealership, when we eventually received an offer it was ridiculous. He started with MSRP($56,740) instead of the current price($52,999) currently shown on their website. They offered us only $3500 for our trade in. Which was $2000 lower than any of the 7 dealerships we had visited. We ended up getting $8500 from another dealer. Once receiving this low ball offer, I showed them the quotes from other dealerships. All of a sudden the price was lowered, but still not even enough to match my 2nd lowest offer. Even though their car was exactly the same as the one on the quote. Worse yet, Bobby held our car keys for our trade saying give me a minute to talk to my manager...Twice. Come on dude, just let us leave. They actually thought I would pay over $60,000 for a car. I ended up paying $47,000 at Tom Kadlec in Rochester, Mn. It was a little drive from Coon Rapids, but totally worth it. Josh there was a great salesman, I got a fair offer for my car and they were reasonable with negotiating. I highly recommend Tom Kadlec! More

This is heartbreaking to say the least. Growing up, my family were all about their Hondas. So naturally, I become a loyal Honda guy myself when I went into the car market at 18 years old wh Growing up, my family were all about their Hondas. So naturally, I become a loyal Honda guy myself when I went into the car market at 18 years old when I bought my first brand new Civic Sedan. Up to date, 3 of 4 of my brand new cars were Honda. And the only reason why I didn't make it 4 of 4 was because of a Honda warranty issue and transmission failure with my Honda car. At that time, I lost faith in the quality of Hondas. Took me years to finally give Honda one more shot because I really enjoy my Hondas when I owned them. So I got a manual Civic SI. My dream car as a kid. Its been a great car BUT the clutch had a problem at 18k miles....now at 75k miles I'm expected to fork out a near $4k to fix the problem. Ok. Fine. BUT how do I know Im not going to have the same problem at 90? 120k miles? So I pay $4k in repairs on average every 20-30k miles? This is not what I signed up for. Honda corporate is going to do nothing so I'm left with this. Going to trade my Honda in and get a Toyota GR 86. I don't intend to ever buy Honda again as this last experience has made me lose absolute confidence in the quality and overall experience with Honda. I'd be an absolute idiot to try them again as failing me 2 times with 2 different cars is all ai can stomach in a lifetime from a car manufacturer. Before this experience, you couldn't convince me to buy anything but Honda. Sadly, the only thing that convinced me to buy another brand was none other than Honda itself. I will take my luck and business to Toyota this weekend. Its worth spending the extra few thousand on and saving all the headaches. R.I.P. to what was a great brand. Sincerely yours truly, Former Loyal Honda Enthusiast 🥲 More
BUYER BEWARE As mentioned in many other reviews, Rapids Honda is running a Bait-and-Switch scheme and I just experienced it yesterday! :( My wife and I were purchasing a 2024 Honda Odyssey Elite Rapids Honda is running a Bait-and-Switch scheme and I just experienced it yesterday! :( My wife and I were purchasing a 2024 Honda Odyssey Elite and we agreed to purchase it based on the sticker price – you know, the price listed online, in persona and the price that is generally accepted in the United States of America as being the ACTUAL price of the item… It wasn’t until we were signing the final documents that I noticed the final purchase price being multiple thousands of dollars more than the sticker price. Tax and title aside, there were thousands of dollars of unaccounted for funds. When I inquired as to the discrepancy, my sales rep Bobby indicated that they were comprised of a bunch of upgrades/addons that he had done me the courtesy of adding for me. I’m talking things like Auto Butler for $799, Diamond Fusion for $299, Pro Pack for $599, and many others… nickeling and diming me to death. The purchase price form was listed in a very shady way where they did confirm the vehicle price, then in small print they listed these accessories and only at the bottom they broke out the monthly cost. They never even presented the updated sub-total to quickly spot the scam. I knew what the monthly amount was supposed to be, which made it stand out. I quickly told him that I didn’t want any of these upgrades, so he crossed out some things and said he’d be right back with an update. Instead of 7 accessories, he came back with 3 even though I told him I wanted none! I started to get a bit more upset here and confirmed AGAIN, I wanted no accessories, so he made me initial again and went to re-print it. So, he came back this time with 2 accessories, the Auto Butler and Diamond Fusion ($1,100). I told him emphatically that I wanted NO accessories and he said, “Well these are required because we already performed these on the vehicle.” My face must have turned red in this moment as I got quite upset… I told him that it was never indicated in the purchase price of the vehicle and that this was very unethical and shady business practices. He then said, “We don’t mention it up front so we can get you a low sticker price … this is just the way we do business.” Some time passed as we looked at other financial documents… finally, another more experienced sales rep named “H” came over to finalize the documents. I was very clear with him about my feelings on the sales tactic of forcing the customer to purchase pre-applied accessories that were never listed in the purchase price. He awkwardly left to speak to someone about it and came back and removed the $1,100 fees. It needs to be made known that this standalone practice (which has only been around for 4 years) is conducting these schemes. Tl;dr – Rapids Honda advertises a low sticker price and then in small print, they have thousands of dollars in accessories that they try to force you to buy, and they even pre-apply some of them and promote the accessories as required. NONE of this is reflected in the purchase price. --- Side note: it took a total of four hours to finalize all documents. I get the feeling that they cause intentional delays to wear the customer down and make them just want to sign things without thinking… I’ve purchased 15 cars in my lifetime and have never had it take more than 1 hour to get paperwork finalized. 4 hours is ludicrous! I will never buy from Rapids Honda every again and will tell everyone I know about their poor business practices. And to management of Rapids Honda, before you reply to this post with a “We’re sorry about your experience. Please call us at XXX-XXX-XXXX and we would like to make it right.”, you have my phone #. Call ME if you want to make this right. More
After having chosen a Honda dealership over an independent shop I would not suggest going here. I am very disappointed with the service we received from Rapids Honda. We had stopped in for a quo independent shop I would not suggest going here. I am very disappointed with the service we received from Rapids Honda. We had stopped in for a quote and dropped off the car for its scheduled repair but were called the next day to pick up the car as they could not repair it (as needed) at that time. Then after the 2nd appointment I gave the car cursory visual inspection and found the parts listed on the quote were not installed! We were never notified of the missing part(s). The cost of the service was for (or very close to) the amount of the quote however ,the part(s) missing were quite substantial and the bill should have been quite a bit less! When this was brought to the attention of the Body Shop Manager we were told he thought we would rather have the car back than have the all the work done! Since they did not tell us of the missing parts before I noticed them AND because the cost of the repair met, or was near the quote I believe this was nothing more than dishonesty and possibly insurance fraud. I am contacting my insurance company to follow up as well. PS - I couldn’t "post" this review with zero stars so I had to select one, which they definitely don't deserve. More

He chose to buy a 12 year old truck and they pressured him into paint protection, glass sealant & a theft deterrent totalling $1285.00 extra even after saying no to all the add-ons multiple times. I reached out via a phone call to Sarina and she said they "suggest" add-ons to all customers . I reached out via email to Katie Young, General sales manager and never received a reply. It's obvious their bottom line is the only concern, their customer service is the worst! More
