They Didn’t Do It Right and Weren’t Nice About It I They Didn’t Do It Right and Weren’t Nice About It I brought my car to this dealership for a simple oil change. The car was returned to me with the They Didn’t Do It Right and Weren’t Nice About It I brought my car to this dealership for a simple oil change. The car was returned to me with the oil overfilled by half a quart. Because of my concern that this amount of excess oil could damage the car, I phoned the Subaru manufacturer’s 800 number to get their advice. The manufacturer’s technician told me that this amount of excess oil “could cause problems” and advised me to drain the excess oil. Excess oil in this amount can cause the oil to foam, exposing engine parts to excess heat and damage. It can also ruin the catalytic converter and cause the engine to pollute. I had to bring my car back to Rancho Grande Motors TWO MORE TIMES to have the excess oil drained. (The first time I brought it back the oil was again overfilled by half a quart!) These were bad experiences because the service writer was, at times, uncommunicative and clearly angry. He told me I was “making too big a deal” of this and accused me of checking the oil improperly by replacing the dipstick in the backwards position. (In fact, when the dealer returned the car to me it was THEY who had replaced the dipstick in the backwards position!). Sometime later, when I called the same service writer to ask a question and get a price on another service, he never returned my call. It took another call to the Subaru 800 number, who then contacted the dealership. Only then did a manager finally return my call. In all, I was seriously inconvenienced by this poor service. I was made to feel that I was creating a problem, when, in fact, the dealer had twice performed a service improperly, resulting in a condition that could have damaged my car. My advice to other Subaru owners is to find a local shop you can trust. For repairs, ask the shop to use Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts. I found such a shop, and on my last visit they performed my oil change properly. I intend to use them for all my future Subaru service. More
We have had Rancho Grande Motors service our GMC Dually and previous GMC 3/4 ton 4X4 for many years. Cory Vegas has always been friendly, professional and caring during our visits. I took my 2005 Corvett and previous GMC 3/4 ton 4X4 for many years. Cory Vegas has always been friendly, professional and caring during our visits. I took my 2005 Corvette in with an electrical issue for my passenger side front turn signal and daylight running light. It needed a new signal harness which would be in the next day. I brought it back and they replaced it with great care by removing the front bumper to get to the area of the signal harness. I spoke directly with the mechanic who loves Corvettes and has the knowledge to work on them and he assured me there would be no problem with the repair. While I was in the waiting room the second day, Chris Wallace, General Sales Manager walked by and said "hi", then turned around, came back to the waiting room and asked if everything was alright since I was there two days in a row. I had previously purchased a 2011 Elantra and sold my first 2005 Corvette to Chris Wallace with great satisfaction for both the buying and selling of the two cars that day. Chris Wallace is excellent to work with and is always pleasant and friendly. While I was out front waiting for my car to be brought out to me Mike Sell, one of the Owners of Rancho Grande Motors and Owner of Rio Vista Chevrolet with his Family in Buelton asked a lady and myself if we have been helped. The lady asked if Cory Vegas could look at her vehicle to see if she needed new tires. Cory Vegas was getting my car, so Mike Sell said that he would help her. I purchased this second 2005 Corvette from Phil Hendershot, Internet Sales and Fleet Manager at Rio Vista Chevrolet, Buelton. I have to say that Rancho Grande Motors is the most friendly, caring and reliable dealership that I have ever encountered, to also include Phil Hendershot at Rio Vista Chevrolet. The Sell Family really knows how to treat their customers and assure them that they will be happy with either purchasing or servicing their vehicles. I give five stars to both Rancho Grande Motors and Rio Vista Chevrolet. Ron Hilberg Paso Robles More
We just purchased a Subaru Outback. Jamal and Joseph were gracious and helpful sales reps. They were influential in helping us solve our garage size problem and interior cargo volume concerns. We were after gracious and helpful sales reps. They were influential in helping us solve our garage size problem and interior cargo volume concerns. We were after the Forester but found the Outback fit our needs better. Both gentlemen answered our questions and if they didn't know the answer they quickly found out. I had a 2002 Forester purchased from Rancho Grande. The reason we returned was the outstanding performance of the vehicle. When I turned it in as a trade in I felt like I was taking my dog to be put down even though I was getting a new Subaru. Chris in service has always been upfront and reliable as well. I high commend and will recommend Jamal and Joseph to anyone seeking a new SUV. Tom Frey More
Following a horrific car accident, new vehicle safety was of paramount importance to me. I did extensive research on new vehicles and decided to take a look at the 2014 Subaru Forester. Sarah Wadsworth, one of paramount importance to me. I did extensive research on new vehicles and decided to take a look at the 2014 Subaru Forester. Sarah Wadsworth, one of Rancho Grande Motors' sales staff, went above and beyond in all levels of service. On my first visit to the dealership, Sarah spent two hours with me, with most of the time spent explaining all the safety features of the new Subaru line. She asked if I wanted t test drive it but I declined, explaining that I still was afraid to drive right after the accident. Sarah was very understanding and there was no hard sell or pressure for me to give her my personal information. She simply gave me her business card and said to get in touch when I was ready. Almost 3 months passed before I called Sarah to say I wanted to come in again and possibly take the Forester for a test drive. She said if I felt absoluely ready to do so, she would be happy to see me. Expecting to fall in love with the Forester, I was surprised to find it a rougher ride than I expected - probably because I had been used to the smoother ride of a mid-size sedan. Sarah explained the safety features of the Outback and compared them to the Forester and suggested I consider test driving the 2014 Outback. I fell in love with the Outback's feel, comfortable ride and smooth handling and am now a proud new owner. Sarah is the big reason I went back to Rancho Grande Motors and she did not disappoint. She is professional, courteous and extremely knowledgeable. With service like this, when my 2002 Camry finally gives up (it's closing in on 400,000 miles now), I'm sure I'll go back to see Sarah for a replacement vehicle. I can't recommend Sarah or Rancho Grande Motors highly enough! Thanks for a terrific experience!!! More
Love Subaru's, and heard they made some improvements to the Impreza. Visited the dealership and Shane helped me. He was very knowledgeable about the different models and equipment, and the dealership to the Impreza. Visited the dealership and Shane helped me. He was very knowledgeable about the different models and equipment, and the dealership even went out of there way to get the exact color I wanted. They couldn't have made it any easier. Everyone there that we came in contact with was extremely nice and several shook our hands and congratulated us on our purchase. Worked with us and made us feel great about our purchase and trade-in. Sarah was very helpful and informative. When I had questions she either knew the answer or found it for me. My original contact was via the internet with Shane Taver, but he did not respond with quote questions she either knew the answer or found it for me. My original contact was via the internet with Shane Taver, but he did not respond with quotes as expected. Shane's name is on the Sales Contract, but I do not feel that he should have the commission, Sarah should get both credit for the sale and the Commission. Please see that she is compensated for her efforts. Thank you, Martha A Graham 1840 Ninth Street Los Osos, CA 93402 marthagra@gmail.com More

I have purchased three cars from Rancho Grande Motors. First we bought a Yukon for a family car back in 2002. We then bought a Hyundai Elantra for my oldest son and then a Hyundai Elantra for my youngest First we bought a Yukon for a family car back in 2002. We then bought a Hyundai Elantra for my oldest son and then a Hyundai Elantra for my youngest daughter. My daughter has the car away at school and told me the alarm system kept going off and that the heater did not work. I exchanged cars with my daughter and brought the Hyundri into the dealer. I was welcomed by a gentleman that I did not know at the time was one of the owners. He told me that he had bought a Hyundri for his daughter and he introduced himself as Todd Reccord. He said he would make sure that the car was fixed and I felt very welcomed by his conversation. I then checked in my car with Tom Walton who is such a wonderful addition to Rancho Grande Motors. He immediately knew what was wrong with the alarm system and fixed it. I needed a ride home and was taken home by Jan a long time employee of Rancho Grande Motors who is always very pleasant be to around. The Hyundai had a part that had gone bad in the dash board that was the cause of the heater not working. Tom talked to the Service Director Brian Federico who said they would take care of the price of the part because I had had so many problems with the car. The part was ordered and installed. I couldn't be happier with Rancho Grande Motors service from Todd Reccord the owner, to Brian Federico the Service Director to Tom Walton who was my service advisor. I have never written or shared my experience with a car dealership before but I felt this was above and beyond normal service. More
