Always friendly, Jerry by far is the best service advisor. He remembers me! He spends the time it takes to ensure everything is addressed that my older Subaru needs. Brought in Outback for engine check light diagnostic, which usually is a 45-60 minute service visit. This took 2.5 hours, which was due to staff searching throughout Des Moines for a much cheaper transm which usually is a 45-60 minute service visit. This took 2.5 hours, which was due to staff searching throughout Des Moines for a much cheaper transmission part solution for the defective part. Unfortunately nothing could be found, because apparently the simple and much less expensive part doesn't exist unless attached to a much more expensive transmission part. I appreciated a very detailed explanation with some empathy for the predicament, and was given suggestions for how to live with the problem for an intermediate time. The only improvement could have been somebody to come out after the problem was found and explain that they were going to take time to research alternative and cheaper repair options. Also, somehow I did not get the print out multi-point inspection report. I don't remember the name of the service rep who explained everything; this very nice gentleman used a cane. Allan? More
