TJ at Ramsey Mazda was fantastic. He was patient with us while my wife and I bought our first, new car. He answered all of our questions clearly and honestly and made the whole process as easy as it can be. while my wife and I bought our first, new car. He answered all of our questions clearly and honestly and made the whole process as easy as it can be. All the staff at Ramsey were a big help. After my wife and I committed to the car we wanted we were congratulated by several other staff members. All the staff at Ramsey Mazda made, what normally would have been, a VERY stressful situation as pain-free as they could. More
I had a great experience overall. This was my first experience buying a new car, and it was much easier than I expected. In fact, probably a little too easy as I hadn't planned on doing anything but te experience buying a new car, and it was much easier than I expected. In fact, probably a little too easy as I hadn't planned on doing anything but test drive. Well, I ended up driving my new car home that day! This is also my first Subaru and I think it's safe to say I'm a lifer now. I guess it's true what they say ... Love, it's what makes a Subaru a Subaru :) More

This winter my 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix was having a hard time starting. My electrical work inside the car seemed to be diminishing so I thought it was either a battery issue or electrical issue. I took my c time starting. My electrical work inside the car seemed to be diminishing so I thought it was either a battery issue or electrical issue. I took my car to the Ramsey Auto Service center, where they discovered that I not only needed a new battery, but a new positive battery chord as well. Tim Jennings was extremely friendly to me, did a wonderful job of explaining what exactly was going on with my car (I'm not a knowledgeable car person by any means) and then took care of me by giving me a nice rental car to use while my car was being looked at. Overall, I had a great experience with Ramsey and would definitely return again! More
I called 2 weeks ahead to schedule a alignment on a 2005 outback and wanted my transmission fluid checked. The day I had my appt the service appt informed me after I drove to Des monies from Huxley that th outback and wanted my transmission fluid checked. The day I had my appt the service appt informed me after I drove to Des monies from Huxley that there alignment table was broken and without following my specific instructions they drained my trans fluid and charged me 70 dollars. These guys are UN-professional, and can't follow specific instructions. Take your car to the twin cities Luther Subaru offers 5 star service at a 5 star dealership, Ramsey sucks. This is the 2nd time I have had less then professional service from this dealership. More

I can't even rate this place as it was so bad. I will not ever be taking my auto back to them. I wish I had seen this site before I took it to them. They are rude and have no customer service. I sat for 3 1 ever be taking my auto back to them. I wish I had seen this site before I took it to them. They are rude and have no customer service. I sat for 3 1/2 hours for them to tell me that it needed a part that cost $700. Then they had no way for me to get home unless I rent a car...Hoof it or call a friend. Nothing about a shuttle at all was mentioned for me to get to work the next day.... if I made it home that night from this nigtmare place. They are so far away from me too. They just plain don't care ... they are only after the money. I too will look elsewhere for service. Too big for their britches if you ask me. Definitley avoid this place. I will let everyone I know what happened to me. Doesn't do any good to talk to the service manager either...they are right and that's that. I wonder...who run's this place???? I'm sure they don't see this...unless they do and have the same attitude. More
I called Ramsey in response to a Check Engine light that came on in my 2009 Enclave. They could not get the car in to look at it for over a week, once I dropped it off and picked up a rental car, they call came on in my 2009 Enclave. They could not get the car in to look at it for over a week, once I dropped it off and picked up a rental car, they called and told me to come back and get it. The repair that was needed was fairly significant and they couldn't fit us in for another week. The repair was a warrantied repair and was caused as a result of a faulty oil life indicator system which had been recalled. As I tried to explain my concerns to Dan that we were leaving town and I wasn't comfortable being out on the interstate with my 9 year old knowing that the timing chain on my car was bad he said "I don't know what to tell you, but I can't help you out." He also let me know that people with "common sense" have ignored the oil life indicator as well as the owners manual and serviced their vehicle on a different schedule. Lucky for me there is another Buick Dealership not too far away and they were very happy to help us out. They had the repair completed in 1 and a half days. They were courteous and respectful.. Bob Brown GMC is where I will be taking my business in the future. More
My 2007 Mazda 3 had a computer failure and after taking it to 2 local places in Ames it was towed down to Ramsey in Des Moines. The first thing they did was let it sit outside in the parking lot for 4 days it to 2 local places in Ames it was towed down to Ramsey in Des Moines. The first thing they did was let it sit outside in the parking lot for 4 days before finally getting around to looking at that car at which point they ran a diagnostic test that was like $150 or something stupid like that, the test didn't show to problem so they ran the test AGAIN and charged ANOTHER $150 and still the test didn't show anything (big surprise) then after looking around they finally found out that a component of the computer had went bad and so they went ahead and ordered the part for it. After my car had been siting on the lot for almost 2 weeks they finally called and told me the part had come in a few days ago but they just have had more important jobs that came before this one. The fix will only take about an hour but they continue to push it off till the next day and now I will be waiting over the weekend for my car. To top it all off if they would have fixed the car when they said it would have been back in my garage safe and sound but instead it sat outside during a golf ball size hail storm and now will need to be taken to another auto body place to fix after they get around to fixing the computer. Overall this is a terrible place for service and if my car ever needs to be taken to a Mazda dealer again I will be driving out of Iowa to locate another dealer because more than likely the service will be much quicker. Ramsey Mazda??? What are you talking about!!! GO EVERY WHERE IN THE COUNTRY BUT DO NOT EVER GO TO RAMSEY MAZDA. Do you understand that? Every single word written here is true and swear to god that I am no WHERE IN THE COUNTRY BUT DO NOT EVER GO TO RAMSEY MAZDA. Do you understand that? Every single word written here is true and swear to god that I am not writing anything wrong here. I went to Ramsey Mazda looking at their advertisement on CX 7 lease program. I specifically inquired for the advertised vehicle at the beginning and I clearly mentioned them what I was looking for. The sales person was very good at the beginning. He was very informative and we had a very good test drive for the vehicle. we worked out for almost one and half hours for all other vehicle but the advertised vehicle. After our repeated request to him to work on advertised vehicle and NOW COMES THE TRICK. He went to his manager and came back after 10 minutes and told me "I have a bad news for you guys...the vehicle you were looking for (advertised vehicle) has just been sold to another customer, but I have another vehicle with different trim level and for which we can work out" AFTER WASTING MY ALMOST 2 HOURS HE WAS TELLING ME THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NO MORE AVAILABLE!!!!!!!!!!! He gave me whooping amount for the another vehicle. I was so upset and I was about to leave and he played another trick. He went back to his MANAGER and came back with 5000 upfront amount in place of advertised 2000 amount. He was trying to get sales tax on full amount of the car even though I was leasing the car!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then I thought enough is enough and I must leave these UNETHICAL xxxxxxxx. Then he suddenly called his manager to talk to me. YOU KNOW WHAT MANAGER TOLD ME?? "The vehicle you were looking for was sold today morning (sales person told me it was sold just 10 minutes back). I told him then why you had wasted my time? Now read his replies. 1. His reply number one. "this is not just your waste of time but this is salesman's waste of time as well" 2. His reply number two. "I was responsible for inquiring whether the vehicle was available by asking specifically to the manager, sales guys is new and he does not know much about the inventory." HE DID NOT FEEL SORRY FOR WHAT HAD HAPPENED TO US. You can not argue with these HIGHLY UNETHICAL xxxxxxxx. I decided to leave immediately and never ever come back again. THIS IS A WARNING MASSAGE TO EVERY ONE WHO WANT TO GO THE RAMSEY MAZDA. More
