Friendly and Great Service I needed repair work done on my drivers side mirror. I emailed for a quote first, stopped in and they ordered the parts. Best thing is their service d I needed repair work done on my drivers side mirror. I emailed for a quote first, stopped in and they ordered the parts. Best thing is their service department is open on the weekends so I didn't have to take time off work to get it fixed. Very friendly staff and is the 2nd time I've taken my Subaru to them instead of the dealership I leased it from. More

As a chronic commuter, the miles accumulate quickly on my One-year-old Outback. The service took longer than expected, but was performed effectively. The “package price” was exceeded by $150.00, but that was because I opted for a further “recommended “ preventative change of differential lubricants. “An ounce of prevention is worth....” $150.00, I guess. Incompetent service My wife and I have been using Auburn Subaru for our car services for almost 20 years. In the years it was owned by Scarff we bought 4 new Subarus from them, and were always provided with prompt, honest, and excellent service. We had hoped that level of good service would continue when Auburn Subaru was bought by Rairdon, but clearly that is not the case. When I had my 2013 Subaru Forester in for a previous oil change some months ago the mechanic did not put in the correct amount of engine oil. Not long after the service I checked all the fluid levels prior to a trip and discovered the engine oil was low enough it didn’t register on the dipstick. And I know well the car has NEVER used oil. Because I wanted to check it out for myself I bought oil and filled it to the “full” marker. (It needed a quart-and-a-half.) Since then, after driving 3000+ additional miles I checked the oil level, and it was still “full”. So it doesn’t use oil. So this week when I brought the car in for service I asked the service advisor if he had ever heard of a Subaru using a quart-and-a-half of oil within several weeks and then not using any more. He didn’t answer my question. I was short for time so I asked the service advisor how long it would take to service my car while I waited. He said “1 hour”. He also asked me if I would like the car washed. I said “yes”. It took 2 hours to have my car serviced. I came at 10:45 and left at 12:45. Those aren’t the times the service advisor wrote on the bill, but clearly he was trying to cover up the fact he had no clue when my car might be ready. I was late for my subsequent appointment. And when the car was declared “ready” it was immediately obvious the car had not been washed as promised. But I did not have time to go back and tell them to wash it. I’m looking for a new place to have our Subarus serviced. More
HIGH-PRESSURE, MANIPULATIVE SALES TACTICS. On October 13th, I FLEW into SeaTac airport to purchase a car from Rairdon’s Subaru of Auburn. They were fully aware of my arrival and we had previously negotiated the price, I was also approved for financing; I just needed to complete paperwork and pick up the vehicle. Once I got to the dealership, I immediately started paperwork, allowing me to start the long drive home in my new car as soon as possible. The car was negotiated over the phone for the price of $21,800. However, when the worksheet for finance was presented, the saleswoman (Audra Barber) showed the final financed price was to be $34,000! I asked for her pen, then with her pen I drew a line through each “add-on” item they were trying to sneak into the price. I then slid the paperwork back to her and requested she remove the items I did not approve of and were not mentioned prior to my flying into SeaTac. She left the room, then the male sales manager (unsure of his name and Audra would not give it to me) entered the room. He said that they cannot sell me the car without their add-on items (unnecessary warranties, etc.). To add insult to injury, the male sales manager claimed I was rude, declaring I snatched the pen from Audra’s hand, attempting to bully me into buying the car at the escalated price. I refused, he then demanded I leave the dealership then he crumpled up the paperwork dramatically. I have never in my life been treated with such disrespect by a business. The final insult was when Audra texted me after I left, and she apologized, stating that she can do the deal now. The general manager (Abe Mand) then called me with a total arrogance of not allowing me to speak and said he would “allow” me to buy the car…but only if I apologized for snatching the pen. These sales tactics at this dealership were beyond disgusting and the very reason car dealerships have a terrible reputation. I ended up having to pay for a rental car to drive home because there were no available flights home. I’ve filed complaints (along with documentation of this interaction) with the BBB, as well as the State Attorney General requesting a refunded for my travel expenses to and from this dealership, as well as an apology from the management. I’m currently looking for Greg Rairdon’s (the owner) information to personally notify him of this experience. Stay away!!! More
