Prior to coming to the dealership, I called the service department to set my appointment and take down my inquiries/issues going on with my WRX STi. I further asked the employee I was speaking over the pho department to set my appointment and take down my inquiries/issues going on with my WRX STi. I further asked the employee I was speaking over the phone if the listed parts and issues would be covered as I want to make sure I don't pay out of pocket as I have a Subaru Certified car with the additional Gold Plus warranty coverage, I was assured I wouldn't with my stated warranty and that any other inquires would be answered at the dealership as well. All this went great until I actually came to the dealership. All the support staff did a great job and was courteous until I spoke with Douglas Rider. This advisor seemed to not be in the best mood from the start of our interaction and was consistently quite rude and inconsiderate. I wanted to make sure the issues I had were resolved and covered under warranty (sounds reasonable doesn't it? especially after the aforementioned initial phone call). When asking this advisor to let me know if these things would be covered he couldn't give me a straight answer and continually danced around the topic and argued with me. He would state things such as we can’t answer that question at this time, then would go on to say things such as we have to see if the car has been tampered with or modified and that if these parts aren't covered under warranty you will have to pay $120 per hour for the labor, not including parts (if you don't know, this is dealership lingo for we believe the car has been tampered or modified and are going to inspect closer before giving you any details and you may also be charged as a result). Obviously, this isn't a satisfactory answer for someone who purchased their Subaru less than 7 months ago certified from a Subaru dealership, and made sure not to do anything that would harm the warranty of their new certified car (may I add I've only put a few thousand miles on the car, almost nothing), I dug deeper with this advisor to try and get some answers as anyone naturally would. The advisor visibly frustrated at this point would give me answers such as I've worked in this field for 24 years (but somehow didn't take the time to learn Subarus warranty policies in those years) and simply at this point back talking me, and telling me about things such as outside influence could have caused these issues and simply not giving me a straight answer still to the questions I've asked. I had my oil changed at a different shop that I've used for years and never had any issues with, he went on to blame them for the possible issues that occurred as well, not having seen anything himself. I then went on to, who seemed to me to be a manager, Dan Vitale, he did not do much to reassure me that my car would be taken care of and that I wouldn't be charged out of pocket for things that should be warranty-related. Rather he seems like he just wanted to be finished with the situation and not really be helpful or informative of what the policy or procedures would be. This manager could have easily switched me with another service advisor or provided the service himself and given me the answers I was looking for. Further, I was escorted quickly by Doug the advisor to my loaner car and basically, let go at that point. In comparison, the lady next to me was asked what type of vehicle she would like and generally was treated with respect which is really all I wanted. Overall I want to make clear that simply providing me with the truth from the get-go (the first call) would not have caused any of these issues, and communication amongst their employees. I purchased my gold plus warranty for an extra charge to make sure issues that came up such as these, the ones I spoke to with this advisor and others about would be covered and made clear from my first call I didn't want to pay out of pocket. More

I called and got a lot of leg work done with Mary Alice the night before, she worked late to get me the car l. The next day it was mine. The entire team was amazing. Charlie was very helpful and thorough. At no point did I feel pressured to buy a vehicle and he worked around my busy schedule. While she offered a lot of great add ons she never pressured me to add any on and suggested ones that worked for me.
