Fraudulent Sales tactic or plain stupidity? Saw car online and set appointment. Confirmed by Hassan with quote on our trade-in. Salesperson Brian filling in for Hassan took 45 minutes to unbloc Saw car online and set appointment. Confirmed by Hassan with quote on our trade-in. Salesperson Brian filling in for Hassan took 45 minutes to unblock the 2021 RDX in the backlot. Had appointment to test drive this specific advertised vehicle. Test drove 2 others for comparison agreed we wanted to negotiate vehicle #1 and we got handed over to Hassan to do the dance at his desk. Got a taste of a typical shady used car sales guy over next 2 hours and agreed on sales price after involving sales manager Jesse. They then said they’d have to do Yet a second test drive of our trade in 2008 Acura. Dumb stalling. More quibbling and wait/ approval tactics and shook hands with manager 4k less than they’re ‘discounted’ asking. Gave driver license to start papers. More wait. Now 4 hours into the folly. Manager Jesse appears to say “ the car was already sold waiting to be picked up but we can talk about a different one.” Almost caught in an illegal bait and switch. Store owner appeared to attempt apologies as we walked out. We will not buy Acura because the store upper management sees no problem trying to sell a car that they state is already sold. Three of us wasted a day. Sales either never intended to sell this car or realized how little they’d be making. Management could not explain why they had keys for a sold vehicle or why the computer does not indicate closed/sold. Admitted it has happened previously. More inexperienced victims without experience or a law degree may have been switched. Reported to Acura and attorney general for investigation and potential prosecution. PS: The car is still advertised on line available for sale. More
