The evening of 10/20/2023 I was online shopping for an inexpensive car for my family. I checked the Raceway Kia of Conshohocken inventory to see what the cost of a Kia Rio would be. After a few clicks on their website a price was generated. I received an email confirmation of the price from Raceway Kia and also received two calls from someone from Raceway named Christian. I went to the dealership today (10/21/2023) and my wife test drove the car. When I sat with the salesman to buy the car I was told they said they would not honor the price from the night before because they did not sell cars at MSRP. They could only sell the car if I bought a bunch of extras that would drive the price up. I showed the salesman the email from just the night before, and told him I wanted to buy the car at the price Raceway Kia gave me, nothing more and nothing less. He passed me along to another "manager," who reiterated the same thing. I asked about the email and phone calls from Raceway, he began to tell me it was not valid. I got quite angry and left. A short while later I called and asked for that manager's manager. The person who got on the phone began to tell about market changes to prices and how things changed with the way cars are sold. I was incredulous! I asked him if things had really changed in the market since last night? The people I dealt with in person was Hassan (first salesperson) and Nick (sales manager). The person I spoke to on the phone was Shane. I feel this was a true example of bait and switch and I think it is a terrible waste of consumer time. I have owned five Kia vehicles, and my intention is to reach out to the Raceway Ownership, Kia Corporate, Kia Consumer affairs, PA BBB and any other platform available. This really is a disingenuous way to conduct business. More
Oil change disaster drove 20 min oil pored out car shut down towed away. Manager was uncaring. Said accidents happen no big deal. No car for me to use. Then he offered free oil changes ( I all ready get t down towed away. Manager was uncaring. Said accidents happen no big deal. No car for me to use. Then he offered free oil changes ( I all ready get that but an oil change is 2 hours so who wants that) also said he would fill my tank when they returned the car. Nope they didn’t. No wonder the support help is so arrogant when you call and while you are there. I had them xx on a recall and was told there wasn’t one. There is. They tried to charge me for the oil change that was part of buying there. More
I have been going to Raceway Kia for over 6 years. Yesterday on 10/9/23, I was there for a scheduled oil change for which I waited 3 hours for completion. I was originally told that it would take about an hour and 45 minutes to 2 hours by an associate whose name was Kelly Bolden. I usually work with Lynn who is fantastic. After 2 hours of waiting, I approached the desk to inquire about the wait, as people who entered the waiting room after me came and left. Kelly told me that she put in a time for the oil change to be completed, but it wasn't finished and that I would have to wait an additional 20 minutes. Kelly told me that she would knock some money off the price of the oil change for the wait and asked if I still wanted the complimentary carwash. After another 20 minutes, I was so frustrated because my car still was not done, and I told her to forget the carwash and just bring me my car. The price of the oil change was only discounted $15 for the additional hour that I had to wait-- without the car even being washed. This was an insult and showed no value for my time! Minimum wage at Amazon & Wawa starts at $15 an hour, and I think my time is more valuable. In addition the service sticker that was placed on my windshield to remind me when to get my car service again read "Next Service Due Date: 04/09/20" when it's 2023 right now. My invoice number is 94111. I usually don't have any problems with customer service which is why I haven't posted a review to YELP. More
Do not recommend service at Raceway Kia. At my last appt., I came for an alignment, but the tech broke the adjustment bolt, rendering my car undriveable. I was not consulted about the adjustment bolt possibly breaking, otherwise I would not have continued with the alignment, all this costing me almost $600. I spoke to the service manager and told him that I should have been consulted before the service tech performed the work. I've been to dealers in the past where they've warned me about issues that could arise before completing the work. It should have been my choice. Instead, I had to wait 5 hours for the part to come in, causing the service tech to rush so he could leave before the holiday not fixing the alignment correctly and not offering to give me a loaner. At the very least, the service manager should have given me a price break on the labor because I wasn't consulted prior to the work being performed. No apology was ever given either. More
