Most recent visit: I had to bring in my car last week for a 60000 mile service. As it was planned a week in advance and knowing I couldn't wait in the waiting room this time.i drop the car with Andrew then i a 60000 mile service. As it was planned a week in advance and knowing I couldn't wait in the waiting room this time.i drop the car with Andrew then i left with the understanding that he would be in touch to let me know when she was ready for pickup and with any findings if need be. Turns out the mechanics were very thorough as usual and noticed an inner CV Boot had a tear in it. Because Andrew did a great job of explaining what the part's function is, what realistically could happen if left as is, and the exact cost of its replacement, I was able to make an informed decision on how to have them proceed. When I came later to pickup the car, Andrew was there to walk me through the details of the service that had been performed, closeout with the cashier, and let me know he would check with me the next day to make sure everything was running well. Summary: I appreciate receiving personal and personable attention from the same service rep I see initially through to the closeout and follow-up parts of the service transaction. I appreciate that the service reps I deal with keep their promises to me whether it's price, time commitment, or follow-up related. This is why I continue to be a satisfied service customer of Quirk Subaru. More
I refused to go to any Subaru dealership since I purchased my car because it was such a horrible experience! However, I received a coupon in the mail for an oil change so I figured I would take that purchased my car because it was such a horrible experience! However, I received a coupon in the mail for an oil change so I figured I would take that coupon and save the $12.00. Not looking forward to dealing with Subaru I had a little attitude upon arrival. Immediately my mood changed. Eric, my Service Advisor, was friendly, courteous and not pushy at all. Since it had been 3 years since I have stepped foot in a Subaru dealership there were a few recalls on my car. Eric asked me a few questions and really listened to my answers. He explained everything and was very patient when I had several questions of my own. He explained how they do things (free inspections & such) and made me aware of some services they offer that made my day much easier. Since they were able to complete all the required work and my oil change as well as my recall I opted to leave my car for the day. I asked for a quote on 4 tires as well and got a prompt call from Eric explaining my choices and prices. Usually I would not agree to anything over the phone, but Eric had earned my trust so I authorized the new tires too. I went in for an oil change at a discount and ended up with a safer, better driving car, and a much different view of Subaru. I will ONLY go to QUIRK WORKS SUBARU from now on and will tell everyone I can how wonderful they are! Thank you Eric you have not only saved me money and time (by doing everything needed when I didn't even have an appointment!), you made my van safer and better riding, but you also earned my trust (back)and made me a Subaru lover again. You guys are great & should be very proud of the service you provide...I'm a very tough customer! More
My daughter went in to purchase a new Outback which they had discussed the day before. Unfortunately, Quirk was the only LOCAL dealer that had what she wanted ON THE LOT. It took OVER 3 hours for the staff had discussed the day before. Unfortunately, Quirk was the only LOCAL dealer that had what she wanted ON THE LOT. It took OVER 3 hours for the staff to get the paperwork together. I have NO IDEA why we should be forced to endure such casual customer treatment. And, they don't seem to know what they are doing. When we discussed financing they kept changing the percentage and then told us we couldn't take the car that day if we financed. SO, we paid cash just to get out of there. (My daughter lost her car in Hurricane Sandy so was up against it..) Quirk sucks! More
Custom ordered a car, first sales rep took my deposit. A week later, he got fired or something. Second rep took over, screamed at me on the phone, giving me attitudes about bothering them too much. I compla week later, he got fired or something. Second rep took over, screamed at me on the phone, giving me attitudes about bothering them too much. I complained to their GM of sales, so he got let go. Couldn't work out the deal with the GM of sales, so I want my deposit back. He said he couldn't find the receipt, I assume the first rep pocketed it himself. He said it's not his problem since he was employed there when I ordered (what a crock of an excuse). Got a hold of the District Manager and their "meeting" with the dealership owner, finally got my deposit back after 4 WEEKS OF MY OWN EFFORT!.... got my car out of state obviously, Mass Subaru dealers suck to no end. I have had two very positive experiences at Quirk Works service, so I assumed it would continue. On my last visit, not so much. I brought it in for the front and rear differential fluid to be changed, t service, so I assumed it would continue. On my last visit, not so much. I brought it in for the front and rear differential fluid to be changed, to find out what was wrong with the power steering, and to see why the ABS brake light was sometimes on. They changed the fluid for $200 - fair enough. They said they did not know what was wrong with the ABS light, but would charge a $100 diagnostic fee to find out. I said ok. Turns out all they did was read the code for that and said that the left rear sensor reported it. Autozone does that for free. They said that the power steering needed a belt and a pump, which would be $850. I said no, so they charged me a $100 "diagnostic fee" for not doing the work. They said I needed new rear brakes for $1375 because there was rust on the outer-edge of the disk. What they did not know was that I had already replaced those disks so I was not going to be fooled by normal rust that was just on the edge where the calipers do not contact. The next day, Sullivan Tire fixed the power steering with a new belt for $75. So Quirk charged me $100 for not doing the work and said I needed a pump that I did not need, and another place actually fixed it for $75. Had I not reviewed my bill several times, there would have been even more things tacked on. I had to keep on getting them to remove services before I signed it. All of my past positive experiences were with Service Manager Daniel O'Connell, who as far as I can tell, no longer works there. Without him, I can't see going there any more. More
I am amazed this place has any good reviews at all. I went there in May looking to purchase a new Subaru Impreza (5 door) and trade in my 2007 Nissan Sentra with 67,000 miles on it. I had been to previou went there in May looking to purchase a new Subaru Impreza (5 door) and trade in my 2007 Nissan Sentra with 67,000 miles on it. I had been to previous Ssubaru dealerships so I already had a price range in mind and was just going to see what Quirk had on their lot and what they could do price wise for me. It was a complete waste of time. Not only did the sales rep I have do absolutely nothing but let me look at the car, but whatever manager she got to help with the price was one of the rudest men I have ever delt with. I did my research prior to going, I knew the Kelly blue book value of my car and this man came out and told me it was worth $5,000 less and that I was naive to think it was worth anything more. Their price was over $4,000 more than ANY of the other dealerships I went to and it was for the EXACT SAME CAR (wasn't even on the lot, each dealership was bidding for it while it was in transit). When I told this to him, I was again called naive. I asked the gentleman for my keys back and instead of giving them to me, he kept going on about how I would never get a good deal at another dealership and kept pushing me to think is outrageous price was a "great deal". It got to the point that I had to stand up, ask (in a not so polite way) for my keys back a second time and was finally allowed to leave. I have never heard a good review from ANYONE I have asked about this dealership, I will never go back to Quirk. More

Thought I would relate my experience since it was so positive and rather unexpected, given my past dealer experiences purchasing new cars. Though I had seen and was somewhat familiar with Outbacks, I w positive and rather unexpected, given my past dealer experiences purchasing new cars. Though I had seen and was somewhat familiar with Outbacks, I wanted to perhaps compare the new OB with other brands prior to purchase....due diligence Just to gather info for my thought process, I requested an internet quote from Quirk Subaru, and Jack Hessler quickly responded with a number I thought reasonable enough to make a trip to the dealer in order to thoroughly check out the OB. I was not planning to buy that day. I arrived at Quirk, and I must say that the entire experience was quite pleasant, and even enjoyable.....go figure. Though I spoke briefly to Jack who was very pleasant and welcoming, I spent the majority of time with Bob and Jon. Let me say that I felt no pressure or insistence on their part. Both Bob and Jon sought to be informative, accommodating (even if it meant my checking out other brands), helpful, and clearly let me know that they would do whatever they could to work with me, whenever I decided I was ready. Even though I initially said I did not plan to purchase that day, they remained friendly, engaged in a positive way, and sought to answer any questions I had without rushing me, or rushing off themselves. As it turned out, I really liked the OB, and given my comfort level and constructive feeling about the folks I was dealing with, was less inclined to go elsewhere. By the way, Quirk is not geographically the closest Subaru dealer to me. I don't mind a little distance, if I am OK with the dealership. I decided I wanted to buy that day, from Quirk, we worked out the deal (fair, no hassle process) and I requested a color they did not have on the lot. Bob found one in Rhode Island, and arranged to have it there the next day. Though they made good faith effort to get the registration/sticker done that next day, we understandably ran out of time. However, they had the car prepped for me and gave me papers so I could drive it home that day. I agreed to come in after the weekend for the registation and sticker. The next day, I was pleasantly surprised to receive the registration in my e-mail. After the weekend, I went to Quirk for the sticker, was greeted by Bob and Jon in a warm and friendly manner, and Jon took the car to get my sticker while I had coffee. By far, this has been the most agreeable car purchase experience I have had to date, and I have had many, including from GM, Honda, Toyota, Nissan, and Saab. All I worked with were friendly, professional, straight forward, informative, good listeners, and both attentive and responsive to my wishes, even salesmen I did not work with, but just chatted. What more do I want. I certainly would recommend Quirk given this experience, and am working on my wife to look at the Legacy sedan. Maybe we'll do this again. More
My sister and I bought a Subaru Forester from Mr. Hessler a few months ago. The overall experience was one of the worst I have ever had buying a new car and I have bought many different cars from different d a few months ago. The overall experience was one of the worst I have ever had buying a new car and I have bought many different cars from different dealers. Mr. Hessler and I agree on a price over the internet on a new Subaru Forester with set options. They did not have the color we wanted in stock. He stated to us that it cost him about $700 to get the car from a Subaru dealer in Belmont MA, which was only about 20 miles away. I thought that cost is a bit high but we agree to it. When we were signing papers, the finance manager tried to sell us a loan with the APR of 5.9%, the going rate was about 2.9% at that time. When we told him that we were going to pay cash, he stated that the price on the contract was only good if we finance through him and at the high interest rate. This is when Mr. Hessler step in and pull the finance manager to the side. A few minutes later, Mr. Hessler sat down with us and said paying cash was fine. Mr. Hessler then proceed to rip up the old contract and provided us with a new one that has an additional $700 fee for a deal acquisition fee. To make a long story short, this has been the worst car buying experience ever for me personally. Needless to say, we will never do business with Quirk Subaru of Braintree again. More
