A smooth transaction. We drove 100 miles from Maine to buy a car at Quirk! We knew exactly the car we wanted to buy; the only discussion point was price. Our initial contact was with the Internet team, which did not seem eager to answer questions in detail. After three emails I gave up on getting detailed pricing, which should have been a simple request (and was simple for several other dealers). We would have given up altogether, but ... Quirk was the only dealer within 100 miles with the desired vehicle, features, and color combination. So we did not give up, and we are pleased that we did not. In contrast to the initial experience, after I picked up the phone and called Quirk, I was connected with Dan Rivera and team who swiftly answered my questions, accepted preliminary paperwork via email, and made the transaction smooth and simple. We had researched and decided on a service plan before visiting the showroom, and Quirk matched the price that we expected to pay, without hesitation. Overall, the sales team is very low pressure and a real pleasure to work with. Lastly, I had forgotten to ask for a full tank of gas on delivery, and expected a near-empty tank. But the car was delivered with a full tank without my having requested. A nice touch and a pleasant surprise. More
Assistance With Replacing of Back Rotors & Pads-'13 Taurus I was upset when I was told that my 2.5 year-old Ford Taurus with only 30,000 miles, needed rotors and pads for the back brakes, and this would not be I was upset when I was told that my 2.5 year-old Ford Taurus with only 30,000 miles, needed rotors and pads for the back brakes, and this would not be covereed under warranty. I was referred to Bruce Kelly, Service Manager. I explained that I thought the replacement of rotors and pads should be covered under my bumper-to-bumper warranty. Mr. Kelly was patient with me, and showed me the warranty information regarding rotor replacement and coverage for same. I understood why he thought the rotors shouldn't be covered (they were worn through, and the pads should have been replaced), but I felt that given the fact that Quincy, MA had experienced its worst winter as far as snow accumulations, in at least 100 years, that this must be a common occurrence, and that I wouldn't expect I needed to replace pads, as this all happened so suddently. Mr. Kelly listened to my point of view. He offered to charge me only for the cost of the parts, and not for the labor. Instead of the quoted $446, this would reduce my cost to c. $275.00. In the end, the actual price was $266.00. Although I thought everything should be covered, Mr. Kelly is not the auhor of the warranty policy, and I felt that he treated me fairly. He was just doing his job I also felt that his offer was a good compromise. I appreciated his helping me and taking the time to listen to my concerns. I am currently in debt paying for my son's funeral costs, and I appreciated Mr. Kelly's willingness to be patient with me. More
