My buying experience at Milam Mazda was by far the worst buying experience of my entire life. I feel like they ripped me off by selling me a used Jeep for thousands of dollars over thier advertised pri buying experience of my entire life. I feel like they ripped me off by selling me a used Jeep for thousands of dollars over thier advertised price. The advertised price was $26,995 on Auto Trader, Craigslist and Milam Mazdas own website truck country. I was sold this used Jeep for $28,500 plus $2,000 for the warranty, $150 dealer doc fee and another $1,000 in sales tax. Sales tax I understand,it's WA. How a Jeep advertised for $27K actually cost $32K is still a mystery to me. Maybe someone in the auto sales industry can explain it. Here's what happened; I called the Milam Mazda dealership on August 3rd 2013 during Seafair looking specifically for a low mile Jeep Rubicon 4x4. Thier salesman told me they had at least 4 of this model on hand so I drove down there from Seattle to take a look. After looking at all the Wranglers they had I decided on a dark green 2010 Jeep Rubicon with 35,000 miles. I was shocked when the saleman told me the dealership wanted $31,000 for this used Jeep and got up to leave. Mike Folk and his sales associate pressured me for what seemed like hours by raising my trade in value and lowering thier asking price over and over and over. After about the 15th offer the scribbed mess all over the paper started to sound like a fair deal. They droppoed thier price to $28,500. I was unaware the warranty they provide would cost an additional $2,000. This cost didn't come out until the financing when they asked if I was going to pay for the warranty out of pocket or roll it into the loan. The doc fee was never mentioned, simply added to my total. I didn't find out I'd been taken for the proverbial "ride" until later that evening after the sale was final. When I saw thier ad's for this specific Jeep posted all over the place for a considerably lower price I felt terrible. I double checked the VIN# and confirmed it was indeed the same Jeep advertised at a much lower price than i was given. I called Milam Mazda the following morning and expressed my concerns. I was transferred to the sales manager I dealt with the day before Mike Folk. He said without the ads I have no proof and said quote" good luck with that Bud" then hung up on me. I couldn't believe it. In the late hours of Saturday night after the sale was complete someone from Milam Mazda must have had all the ad's for that Jeep pulled down to cover up the sale. Luckily, I saved all the ad's the previous night on my computer sensing something was rotten with this deal. Unfortunatly I had to consult an attorney to get the dealership to take back thier overpriced Jeep and return my trade in. The dealership of course blamed some advertising company for posting the wrong price and denied everything. They reluctantly agreed to let me return the Jeep. Mike Folk was very hostile with me in person when I returned on Monday to get my car back and return thier overpriced Wrangler. He refused to give me a copy of the paper I signed voiding the sales contract with Milam Mazda and showed me the door. Trust me, I was glad to leave and take my trade in with me! I just hope they did indeed cancel the loan, warranty and any associated costs as promised. I will be very upset if I start getting bills in the mail over this rotten, horrible car deal. As of today August 8th 2013 the very same Jeep they sold me is now posted back up for sale at exactly the same price posted earlier. Obviously the ad company excuse was simply a bald faced lie. I knew it was a lie right away but it just goes to show how unethical and deceptive they are. Posting a car for sale at $26K then charging $31K plus is as rotten as it gets. Had I seen the ad before I purched the Jeep I would have known better. I have to assume I'm not the first person to fall victim to this scam. If anyone doubts the facts of this transaction I have copies of the ad's they ran before I purchased the Jeep and all of my sales reciepts. Glad to share them with anyone that asks. Shame on you Milam Mazda, your deceptive ads and your unethical sales staff. More
Bait and switch at it's worst. They let you drive a vehicle that you like and when you agree on a price, they drive a lesser vehicle up front (same color and model, different options) and they never vehicle that you like and when you agree on a price, they drive a lesser vehicle up front (same color and model, different options) and they never said a word. We were just lucky we saw it right away. This is an absolute true story without exageration. These people are far from honest, very far. Stay away!!! More
First, I am sitting in the delaership right now. My need for a vehicle exceeded most of the normal customers. I was recommended Ryan from another friend who had worked with him previously. My request was for a vehicle exceeded most of the normal customers. I was recommended Ryan from another friend who had worked with him previously. My request was so rediculous that he put me through to his manager. Both of these gentlemen worked their arses off and I can't begin to thank them enough. There is something different going on here. While I was at the dealership two other sales people came buy and actually said hi and checked on me. When I was introduced to service the gentlemen their seemed very knowledgable. If you need a vehicle give them a chance. OPetions are good and I am extremely pleased with Milam Mazda. Thanks Guys More
I am selling my Mazda 6 Silver 4 door with V6. I just found out 2 days after spending 1600 dollars at MILAM MAZDA THAT MY MOTOR WAS BLOWN. I brought it in there to diagnose for timing issues. They tried found out 2 days after spending 1600 dollars at MILAM MAZDA THAT MY MOTOR WAS BLOWN. I brought it in there to diagnose for timing issues. They tried to tell me that it was going to be 400 to diagnose. I I said that was fine, they called me back and told me that it was going to cost 3700 to fix my vehical. I told them I could not afford that and I would pay the 400 dollars for diagnosis. Of course they did not mention that was just to take the car apart and in order for me to get my vehical back it would be 1200!!! I asked for a parts list of what needed to be replaced. I found there were SEVERAL parts that did not be replaced and had nothing to do with the timing chain. I told them FIX WHATS BROKEN. They told me 1600 to fix my car. I AGREED ... BAD IDEA. I had replaced timing chain and other parts as needed to fix my car. It was never diagnosed that the motor was shot. THEN AFTER 2 DAYS HAD TO TOW IT BACK TO MILAM MAZDA!!! THEN THEY TELL ME I HAVE A BLOWN MOTOR???? DOES THAT SEEM ALITTLE ODD?????????????? YES I HAVE ALL RECIETS and diagnoses PRIOR TO A SUPPOSED BLOWN MOTOR. This is a horrible experiance with the dealership and they have not heard the last of me. But at this point in time I am car less. They will not fess up that they did something to it ... MOTOR WAS NOT BLOWN PRIOR TO GETTING REPAIRS. I have leather black leather interior, sunroof 5 Speed, still a great car JUST WONT RUN ANYMORE AND WILL COST ME ...HUH ABOUT 3800 dollars HOW ABOUT THAT!!!!. The motor still runs just blowns smoke like a chimney. CAR RAN BEFOR GETTING REPAIRS. I just want to be honest about the vehical it has a clean carfax and was a great car prior the the incompitant service MANAGERS JEFF!!! THATS OBVOIUS HOW THE DEALERSHIPS MAKE THERE MONEY BREAK YOUR VEHICAL AND LEAVE YOU HIGH AND DRY! OF BRING IT BACK TO SPEND MORE MONEY FIXING THERE ERRORS! PS BEWARE OF MILAM MAZDA More
First off I want to say that this business is TERRIBLE!!! DO NOT buy a vehicle from these people!! I brought the correct payoff in for my vehicle. The stupid broad at the finance department wouldnt take it s DO NOT buy a vehicle from these people!! I brought the correct payoff in for my vehicle. The stupid broad at the finance department wouldnt take it so she calls my auto finance company and gets the payoff for a DIFFERENT car loan I have. So when I sign the papers she told me that she called and the payoff was listed on the loan docs. WRONG! Long story short Milam Mazda called me three days later wanting $900 in cash from me. can you say SCAM!! I am a member of the Active Duty Military, they know that. Needless to say I dont make a lot of money and didnt have it. Some time went by and I did not hear from Milam Mazda. I thought they did the right thing and bit the bullett for thier mistake. WRONG AGAIN!! I get a letter form a collection agency 8 MONTHS later saying I now owe $915 in the next 30 days or it would be reported to the credit reporting agencies. My wife and I work hard and pay our bills to have good credit and this is how good people get treated. A final word of warning, do NOT buy a car from these people unless you want to get screwed and scammed!!!! More
