I contacted the Internet Department here and was promptly attended t My 2014 Mazda6 lease was coming to an end and I wanted to explore all my options. I contacted the Internet Department here and was promptly attended to by Alvin Pizano. He didn't just send a generic e-mail response like some other dealerships do: He actually addressed all my initial questions and concerns and he even spoke about his own experience dealing with his personal car purchases! Since he made everything so relatable, I scheduled an appointment with him and he made sure to have the 2017 Mazda6 I was interested in front and ready by the time I arrived. We went on a test drive and he explained the new features compared to my 2014 and I didn't know it was possible to fall in love with the car any more than I did when I got my '14, but it happened! The assistant sales manager David came out to greet me and ensured I had a pleasant test drive (which I did!). We got down to the part that many people hate, but in less than 15 minutes, we got to the payment I was comfortable with and we all exchanged handshakes. The finance manager, Monique, is a total sweetheart and made the paperwork complete cakewalk. I told a few of my friends how seamless everything was and they were so impressed at how I spent less than two hours to get everything done. We confirmed our appointment on Friday night for Saturday morning. We arrived at 9am, they had the car all prepped and ready to go a Black on Black 2016.5 CX5 GT with the Tech package, my wife loved it. The gentleman we were supposed to deal with was out sick that morning so we were dealing with Wes Akers. They actually matched another dealers quote. We were happy. As the negotiation process went on my wife and I noticed that there was an increase of $1,500.00. I asked Wes why the increase "Wes stated it was the "Platinum package" which we did not choose or want. It consists of leather treatment for the seats, etched VIN number on the doors (it's a label) and nitrogen air in the tires....yes nitrogen air, all this for $1,500.00 more. This really got me upset. I said I don't want that car find me another one without the treated seats and nitrogen Air and labels on the doors. Wes said that all there cars are prepped that way and he could not do anything about that. My wife and I got up and walked out. I asked Wes one question before we left and to be honest with me....Wes "Do I need this" his response "No you don't" then why are you trying to sell me something I don't need or want...he could not answer that. As we were walking out they were having a BBQ out side. It's was already noon so my wife and I ate lunch and headed towards the other dealer. Before I could back out of there parking lot Ralph Deaguilar came out to my car tapped on my window and asked me what the problem was as if he did not know. He said "If he I can get the Platinum package for $700.00 would I take it, I said no but I did tell him go back in side and if you can get it for $500.00 then I would....he came out and said he couldn't....what a surprise....honestly I was never going to get it. I will not mention the other salesperson because she had no control on this sale....she was great kind and courteous she brought my wife some tea. Wish we had made the sale with her. Puente Hills Mazda was the first dealer I ever purchased a car from this was mentioned yet it didn't even mean anything....you are just a sale. If they ask me to show them my contract from my first car I will because I still have it and that was 30 years ago. My opinion of this dealership is our experience only I would recommend this dealer but read the fine print fine print and ask questions. More
