Purchase of 2015 RAV4 Limited This was our 4th new Toyota purchase and our 2nd purchase from Principle Toyota on May 22. Sales Associate Garwyne Jones made the purchase a pleasant This was our 4th new Toyota purchase and our 2nd purchase from Principle Toyota on May 22. Sales Associate Garwyne Jones made the purchase a pleasant and efficient experience. After greeting us and hearing our purpose, he toured the possible vehicle selections with us and arranged for a test drive of the RAV4 that we ultimately purchased. The test drive and examination of the car were fruitful and upon returning to the dealer showroom, he arranged for an appraisal of our trade-in, and after an offer and some further exchange of offers we arrived at a satisfactory and comfortable trade price. We were impressed with the vehicle and after wading through the necessary papers, we left the dealership with our new car and headed for Jackson, TN via the I-385 bypass around Memphis to I-40. The by-pass was finished at the last month of 2013, and our 2013 vehicle we traded had the 385 by-pass as far as Macon Road in the GPS system. I sensed something wrong when our new RAV4 only showed the map as far as Hwy. 57 on east edge of Collierville. When we arrived home in Jackson, I checked version of our GPS and found that it was released in March of 2014. Further research on the Internet revealed that the latest version available is November 2014. We have a new car with obsolete map data on the GPS. When I returned on Monday to finish the purchase, I asked if they could update it and was told that we would have to wait for Toyota to process our purchase and an update would be sent to us on a thumb drive. There was no promise of a date when this procedure could be completed. We are happy with our car, but I really believe Toyota should be responsible for a current version of the GPS in a new vehicle promptly, so that my summer vacations will have the latest information that I purchased. Why can't this be available to the service dept. when the car is sold? Happy but disappointed. Don and Sue Bryant More
