Not a good experience We came in to buy a new Honda Civic for my daughter. There evidently were problems with our daughter being the driver but not the buyer of the car. We were told to sit at the salesmans computer to fill out our own information which we did, my daughter test drove the car with the salesman but was told he had to get back to the dealership to meet other clients after just 5 minutes in the car, even though we had an appointment with him. We had not purchased a car in a long time so we were not sure about our credit rating, but it was not bad just "good". It just felt as though he didnt want to sell us a car, and eventually told us he couldnt help us with no real explanation. I am retired now, but my family owned car dealerships in the past, I had never heard of or seen anyone turned away for coming in to buy a car for a family member to drive. We then bought the same new Honda Civic from Beaverton Honda with no problems and were treated very well, and 2 weeks later we bought a second car for ourselves to drive, so I know it wasnt an issue with our credit. This salesman was friends with my uncle and even knew who my family was, I think he for some reason thought I was not being truthful about my family owning car dealerships for many years here locally. He didnt even send us off with a nice goodbye, nothing. I would never recommend them. More

Wish I could buy another car right now It was really that positive of an experience! My fiancee and I were looking for a Fit to be our second car, and she fell in love with the purple one. It was really that positive of an experience! My fiancee and I were looking for a Fit to be our second car, and she fell in love with the purple one. They had the color and trim level we wanted in stock and they had the best price in a 100 mile radius from Portland (trust me, we checked) advertised right on their website. After getting jerked around by a closer SW Washington dealer who decided they didn't want to honor their "150-mile best price guarantee," we decided to call up McMinnville Honda. I spoke with Gary and asked to confirm all the details before we drove out from Portland, and he held the car for us until we got there. Gary was very friendly and helpful through the whole process. He was down to earth and very easy-going. I am also pretty sure he's the only salesperson to ever genuinely make me laugh at a joke. There was no pressure, whatsoever, to upsell or to get anything other than what we wanted or came for. There were all-weather mats that we wanted and a cargo mat in the car already that we didn't want/need, but Gary actually threw that cargo mat in at no charge, so why not? I was a little nervous when we went back to the finance person to sign papers, but Nora also took VERY good care of us. Once again, everything was 100% above board and transparent, and no pressure to buy add-ons. Overall there were no games, no gimmicks, no tricks, no hidden add-ons or fees, or anything else some other dealers still try to foist on you these days. The whole process was very quick and easy and we were driving home in our new car in no time. I wish my car weren't so new, because I'd be back out there in a heartbeat to buy another car from Gary and McMinnville Honda. As Nora told us when we were signing papers, car buying should be fun and exciting, not bad and stressful. I will recommend both Gary and McMinnville Honda to everyone I know, because they do make it so easy, and it is DEFINITELY worth the drive from the Portland area. Best experience I've had at any dealer, anywhere, ever, full stop. Thanks Gary for a great deal on our perfect Fit and for the excellent and genuine service! And thanks to Nora for getting us through the paperwork so quickly and easily and being so cheerful! It might be a while before I come back, but I will certainly be sending others your way. More

It took me two years, innumerable trips to a local Honda dealership service department, and one trip to a private mechanic shop, before I thought abou It took me two years, innumerable trips to a local Honda dealership service department, and one trip to a private mechanic shop, before I thought about seeing if McMinnville had a Honda dealership and service department. (They were a bit farther to go for me and also out of my way.) My 2008 Honda CRV, purchased new in Hillsboro OR, ran great for the first few years. Then at about 37,000 miles, it began to die while just driving along, a complete failure of all power, including power steering. Very, very frightening for a woman alone. Often it would die on the dark, two lane windy country road I have to take to get home, right when I'd lose cell service, of course! The only time it died repeatedly was while backing into my driveway. The "other" Honda dealership told me, (after replacing the computer brain, as it coded bad once, 'Only' charging me $100 to do that, I began to feel they may have thought I was imagining things, because it only happened to me…) "We've tried everything and have done all we can." I drove it for another year and the stalls became more frequent, when in desperation I called McMinnville Honda. Not only did they make several attempts to discover the problem, they gave me a loaner car (a brand new Honda CRV), charged me nothing and persevered through the Honda America Techs until they figured out the problem! I had a bare wire under the “Dead Pedal” that was shorting out every time I put my foot there, most often when I was turning around to back up. I forgot to mention, when my car died, every imaginable light came on in the dash. It’s been several months since I’ve had it back from McMinnville Honda, NO stalls, NO dash lights coming on at any given time, full power (as it was gutless during my two year nightmare) and it’s running like a brand new car at 67,000 miles! Finally, I love my car!!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart McMinnville Honda Service Department, I’ll be forever grateful! More

They tell the truth, they warn you of upcoming expenses, they do not over charge you or do unnecessary work, and we have never had a breakdown. We have moved in the last year or so and thought we ought to go to a dealership near us. The dealership we went to in Hillsboro indicated we needed work that was unnecessary every time we took our cars in. The last time - and it will be THE LAST TIME - we saved nearly $2500 by taking the car in questions in for a second opinion to McMinnville Honda. (What we DID need was a $24 bracket.) From now on, we'll drive the distance to have our cars serviced by folks we know we can trust. What more can you ask for?! More
