If you had a lower rating than 1, I would gladly use it for Prestige. It is a disgracefully dishonest and unpleasant dealership. I find it hard to understand how it stays in business.<br><br>I am a long-time Volvo owner who, until I recently traded in one Volvo for an Infiniti, owned two Volvos and serviced them both at Prestige. I will soon be disposing of the other Volvo and will never again own a Volvo.<br><br>I chose to service my cars at Prestige although I knew I was paying absolutely top dollar for service. Until recently, I thought I was getting quality and honesty in exchange. However, I had a service experience in June, which totally soured me on Prestige and Volvo. Without going into the details, Prestige billed me for nine hours of labor at about $100 per hour when they could not have spent more than four hours on my car. They sought to justify this charge by saying that they billed based on "book estimates" for jobs and that, if their mechanics actually spent less time on the job than the book estimate, Prestige made more money. <br><br>When I complained, Prestige's service manager offered to do "whatever it would take to make me happy." That attitude lasted only a short time, however, and, as I persisted in trying to get what I though I was due, first the service manager and then the owner turned nasty and abusive. They also lied to me. They seemed oblivous to the concept of "customer satisfaction" (and Volvo of North America is no better; they told me their dealers are "autonomous" regarding service and, therefore, Volvo national could do absolutely nothing on my behalf).<br><br>Having given up on Volvo for any satisfaction, I protested the credit card charge and the bank tried to get Prestige to agree to a partial charge-back. According to the bank representative, however, Prestige was impossible to deal with. The bank representative was so frustrated and upset by Prestige's behavior (at one point, he blurted out that he could not imagine how Prestige stayed in business) that he voluntarily credited my account with the $500 I had been overcharged for labor.<br><br>I plan to pursue my grievance against Prestige in other forums, however, because I was forced to invest lots of time and energy in trying to get Prestige to act responsibly.<br><br>My strong advice to anyone who reads this is to stay as far away from Prestige Volvo as you possibly can (and to stay away from Volvo generally; since Ford took it over there have been many changes for the worst in customer service). As I discussed price, the salesman persuaded me to feel sorry for him, and asked me to split the difference between the MRSP and the invoice cost. This was supposedly only a couple of hundred dollars, right? <br><br>Wrong. <br><br>Put down a cash deposit, was offering a wire-transfer cash deal, and started doing my homework, a little late, but nonetheless... <br><br>Wouldn't you know it? They were overcharging me by several thousand dollars! Recieved two other quotes/ offers for the same car, one even incluided a premium sound system. <br><br>To make an indignant story, shorter.... Called the salesman as soon as I found out the price difference, he said the other quotes were "at cost." Told him that I'd prefer to use their dealership because of convenience, and could Presitge price match, or come closer to the other quotes? He said, he'd get back to me, right?<br><br>Honest to gosh, next thing I know, no one was picking up the phone, a message was left on my cell phone service. He claimed, I signed a contract, and they expected me to abide by it. I drove straight there, picked up my deposit, and plunked down a deposit on the same vehicle at another dealer.<br><br>Anyway, as the Volvo turns -- I .bumped into a different salesperson while I was out-and-about on the town. Was told that I could switch salespeople. This one, persuaded me to come back, and visit, since supposedly the dealership was rather desperate to move their cars. <br><br>So...I was coaxed back. Everyone saw me walk in. I was shown the cars on the lot, and drifting to the possibility of another model, I was shown various cars, and asked to pick two to test drive. <br><br>Really now! I was seated next to the receptionist now, with my dog, having coffee, when salesperson comes back, looking absolutely crestfallen, and tells me, the manager told her that not only can't I test-drive any cars, the dealership didn't want to do business with me?!<br><br>I called Volvo customer service to complain. Was told all they could do is collect complaints, and nothing more at this point.<br><br>Given my adverse experience at this dealer and the fact that I wouldn't feel comfortable having the vehicle serviced there, regardless of how much I liked the car, I pulled the deposit at the other dealership, and decided to boycott Volvo.<br><br>At a loss where to complain to next, until I stumbled upon this website.....<br><br>This is not only not a friendly place, it underscores the pratfalls unwary buyers (especially female) can come across, unless they are prepared, or whatever....
