As a woman, I’ve had plenty of car-buying experiences where I felt talked down to or like my time wasn’t valued. Ron was the opposite: he spoke to me like an equal, took my questions seriously, and never once felt condescending. That made a real difference. The whole process was seamless — in and out without any unnecessary back-and-forth or runaround. ​I am not one to write reviews, but I feel obligated based on my experience today with the service department. I purchased my vehicle and my extended warranty directly through this dealership, expecting based on my experience today with the service department. I purchased my vehicle and my extended warranty directly through this dealership, expecting that investment to protect me from unpredictable repair costs. ​Today, I fell directly into what I can only describe as a diagnostic trap. I brought my car in for a dashboard warning. Despite calling ahead to schedule and explicitly state that I had an extended warranty, I was told upon arrival that I would be forced to pay a $240 diagnostic fee out of pocket if the issue wasn't covered, or if I chose not to proceed with their repairs. It is a classic catch-22: as a consumer, I have absolutely no way of knowing whether a mechanical failure is covered by my warranty without a diagnostic scan, yet the dealership uses that scan as a $240 penalty just to get my keys back. This policy completely nullifies the financial protection I paid for. ​To make matters worse, the repair quotes I received feature astronomical markups compared to the exact same OEM parts sold directly on parts.prestigevolvo.com: • ​VCM Backup Battery: Quoted $536.39 to replace, which retails for $86.06. • ​Cabin Air Filter: Quoted $226.57 to replace, which retails for $46.03. • ​Engine Air Filter: Quoted $157.34 to replace, which retails for $47.09. • ​Front Brake Pads & Rotors: Quoted $1,017.98 to replace, which retails for $141.13. ​Because I refused to pay a $450 premium for a basic backup battery, I was penalized $240 just to leave. ​This feels wrong morally, from a principle standpoint. I spent extra money with this dealership, voluntarily, for an extended warranty to then still be charged a fee under the guise of "mechanic labor" makes no sense when performing a scan simply involves plugging in a tool and pressing a button to read codes. It all started with a trip to my local Volvo dealer on a Saturday afternoon to take a look at Volvo's, (not Prestige) .... Not ever sitting in a Volvo, I wanted to ask some questions and see what this car was all about. My wife and I walked into this other dealer ship which is a lot closer to our home. We milled around the showroom and opened doors and sat in a couple of cars, we were the only two customers in that showroom. Nobody came up to us and said can I help you, or if you have any questions, please let me know??? Nobody!!! We then walked outside and looked at a couple more cars in the parking lot, still nobody came outside. So, I said lets go back inside and see what happens one more time, this is crazy no one came up to us yet?? Well after another 10 minuets of milling around the showroom I told my wife "LETS GO THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE !!!!" we left and both said "BIG MISTAKE" a quote my wife used from the movie Pretty Woman. We both left that dealer xxxxxx !! So, on the following Monday we went to Prestige Volvo on a friend's recommendation. We parked our car and walked up to a couple XC90's in the lot. A salesman was walking past us and said Do you guys need any help, I said not yet but when we do, I will come inside an find you. That salesman was Ron Landstrom. We'll let me say that we purchased a 2026 XC90 that day from Ron. It was probably the easiest auto purchase I made in my 64 years on this planet. Ron took the time to explain everything about Volvo the Company, Volvo XC90 the car and everything about the dealership. Ron spent at least 4 hours with us. We can't say enough good things about Ron. And when it came to the part that I hate when buying a new car, the negotiating the deal, Lindsey Mastroianni the General Manager was also a pleasure to work with. I just can't believe how that other dealer treated us compared to the way we were treated at Prestige Volvo.
