I brought my 2017 Tacoma in to have clutch assessed for wear as I am giving it to my daughter. Technician looked at bottom of transmission on lift and suggested replacing clutch , pressure plate, and flywh wear as I am giving it to my daughter. Technician looked at bottom of transmission on lift and suggested replacing clutch , pressure plate, and flywheel (all unseen). He also looked over entire car for things they could “fix or replace”. Then quoted me over $9,000.00 for clutch assembly (new parts for top of line heavy duty upgrade including flywheel, plate, disk, plus bearings, seals hydraulic line is less than $1000). A clutch replacement (I’ve done half a dozen in my life in my driveway before I became disabled) takes 2-4 hours. So that’s 2 to 4 thousand an hour Prestige was going to charge me! Plus they offered to fix all the stuff they apparently spent the time they said they’d spend assessing my clutch disk ( $200) for another 2500. This place is a rip off preying upon people who don’t know better. Avoid like the plague. More
