I purchased a 2015 Subaru WRX on May 7th 2021. I was assured the car was inspected and no major issues had been reported other than what they had noted on the intake sheet for service. I was told by the salesman that the A/C compressor that was noted for leaking had been repaired, along with the other items listed. On my first test drive, I checked ant the 4 way flashers did not work. (I would have thought if a dealer does a inspection, that would have been checked). After mentioning this, they did kindly repair this and they now work. On the first hot day in May, I turned on the A/C and found out it was not blowing cold, but blowing hot air. Well, figuring they did repair it like they said, maybe they had forgotten to charge the unit after. My husband bought a $50 recharge kit and charged it up...Only to watch as the Freon fly out of the compressor all over my engine bay. I called that same afternoon and spoke with the service manager Chris. Explained what was going on and he said "we charged the unit up and found now leaks at that time" and also said "sometimes the salesman only listen and hear parts of what we are telling them.." I was assured by my salesman that this unit was repaired and working properly. Fast forward a week or so, and Chris calls to say they received the new part in and I set an appointment for June 12th to take the car down for a couple hours to get that device fixed. At this time of that call, so far everything isn't going too bad with them...But then it took a turn. One month after owning the car, June 7th, my check engine light came on. My husband ran his code reader to find 2 codes, P0700 and P0841, both of which are for the transmission and indicating a malfunction with it. I called the next morning and spoke with Chris. This was June 8th. It took TWO days and my husband calling and "handling" the situation for my to not only get a response worthwhile(I was having my calls ignored or not returned) to take my car in sooner than that Saturday the 12th appointment. Once they received my car on June 10th, the A/C compressor did get replaced. But I was getting the run around again, not getting my calls returned or being told what was going on with the transmission, etc. Finally mid June, on or around June 17th-June 19th, I received word that my car was going to be taken to the local Subaru dealership in Cuyahoga Falls because "they just aren't as familiar with Subaru's there at Prestige" (maybe you shouldn't sell them, then?). This entire process took 25 days from start to finish to get my car back. I began dealing with the Subaru dealership who had my car directly because of the run around, being ignored, not having calls returned. The procrastination within this company is astonishing. I had to make my first payment and didn't even have possession of it. I feel in my heart of hearts that these codes that were shown were previously there, and they had just cleared the computer in hops that they wouldn't show back up until later on down the road. I was informed these codes were considered "stored" or in the "history" of the computer, which means they had previously been there and it had not been addressed. The only shining light of this entire situation is I got one of my dream cars. But at what extent did I need to go through to have it happen. If they actually did a point inspection of vehicles, things would go entirely much smoother than it did. I will not be a returning customer. I have dealt with many dealerships previously to this and every single one was timely, answered my questions honestly and quickly, never left me in the dark or tried to not address something right away. Unfortunately this is a poor business practice and it needs to be known. I am glad to be done with this entire situation, and I am sure they are glad to be done with me, my constant calls and wanting information and answers regarding MY car. I've never had such a difficult time of getting a vehicle repaired and giving them BACK their car. LOL More
