The Service Department does not fix issues. I have been taking my car to the service team at Sutherlin Nissan since I purchased the car new in 2016. Upon driving off the lot the car had issues w I have been taking my car to the service team at Sutherlin Nissan since I purchased the car new in 2016. Upon driving off the lot the car had issues with the brakes. I was told since the car was a new car the brakes had to be broken in. We waited a couple of weeks/months and till nothing. I keep taking the car back for review and repair. Finally after having the car one year the service team finally replaced both the front and rear brakes. Again the brakes made noise upon driving out of the lot. We were again told the brakes are new and line to bleed out. We waited a couple weeks/months and started the same process again. Finally after almost a another year the service team agreed something was wrong with the brakes. Stating this time air might have gotten into the front break pads causing the noise. The front brakes were repaired. But we were told the rear could not be done due to warranty. I don't understand the logic behind them being able to do the front and not the rear especially since the car has had issues with the breaks since driving out of the lot on the very first day the car was purchased. More
Destructive and reckless These folks have damaged my vehicle every time I have taken it in for service. On my first service visit they refused to diagnose my vehicle properly These folks have damaged my vehicle every time I have taken it in for service. On my first service visit they refused to diagnose my vehicle properly and told me that without an engine code they wouldn’t know what to do and asked that I pay them 150 an hour to check it some more. Took it back to Carmax and had them work on it instead. On my second visit Carmax refer my vehicle over to them for a transmission replacement. They swapped my old one with a rebuilt transmission. They didn’t check the engine and transmission mounts, but told me they did. I had to tell them to check again because it was rocking back and forth every time it would shift. They then noticed that I was correct and the transmission mounts needed to be replaced. When I showed up to pick up my vehicle and started it, it began to blow smoke all around the engine and into the cabin. Mind you, I have three kids in the car. They told me to drive it like that until the oil burns off. I told them to fix whatever they broke and check to make sure that it doesn’t smoke like that. They found that there was a leak in the valve cover - no doubt they broke it when working on it, but wouldn’t admit it. I showed up for a third time and the vehicle is still shifting hard. They took it back into the service bay and detected that it was running rich, but didn’t want to do anything about it. They told me that there was “nothing else they could do” and asked me to leave. Carmax refered my vehicle back to them when it developed a misfire, likely because it was running rich and it damaged the plugs and coils, and because it started leaking oil between the engine and the newly installed transmission. They refused to service the vehicle unless I paid an addition $600 out of pocket for their techs to replace my spark-plugs. They also refused to repair the seal they damaged when they installed the transmission. It was then referred to another dealer for them to work on it. I came to find out now that the damage extended past the seal, it seems that they also damaged my engine bearings when they were working on the transmission. Now my vehicle has an engine knock that they also refuse to fix, and potentially a damaged transmission that they will not replace under warranty either. If you’re considering doing any type of business with Sutherlin, I strongly encourage you to reconsider. There are far better options available for service. More
Honda oil change I purchased a pre-owned Honda from the Nissan dealership. About a month later the oil was due to be changed and I took it over to Honda Mall of Georgi I purchased a pre-owned Honda from the Nissan dealership. About a month later the oil was due to be changed and I took it over to Honda Mall of Georgia. They indicated it seemed like whoever change oil last (which was Sutherland Nissan dealership) over tightened the oil pan bolt and they would not remove it. I then went back over Nissan explain to them the situation and the service advisor ( Brook Remzer) immediately took action got one of his service tech to remove the bolt without stripping the oil pan and then they went ahead and changed my oil for me. I appreciate the professionalism they showed in this matter as well as the urgency since despite being the first person at the Honda dealership I waited there almost 2 hours to be told they couldn't perform the work. I was in and out from the Nissan dealership in under 20 minutes. More
