Thank you for taking the time to rectify the problem and notifying me. Mr. David Rivas was not a part of my complaint nor was he ever. He provided me with the utmost professionalism. As always he was very friendly and courteous. He shared with me the information that the computer was telling him was the recommended service for the age of my Rogue Sport. Knowing my vehicle better than the computer I declined to have the recommended front end alignment done at this time. Mr. Rivas accepted this and in no way tried to push the front end alignment on me. It was my decision and he was fine with it. After the multi point inspection Mr. Rivas explained to me and showed me that I was in need of front end brakes. When he told me how much the service department was going to charge me I again declined to have the work done there. In my opinion the price for that service was well over priced. I knew I could get the same job done by my own mechanic for far less. Mr. Rivas checked me out and I paid the bill for an oil change and tire rotation. The multi point inspection was a courtesy. After leaving the service department I drove directly to my mechanics garage to have the front end brakes replaced. It was at this time that it was discovered by my mechanic that the tires on my vehicle were completely worn out and needed to be replaced as well. My mechanic even showed me the tires. They were the original tires that came with the vehicle when I bought it from Poughkeepsie Nissan in 2019. They had 24+ thousand miles on them. The cord was visible through the thread and the sidewalls were soft and dry rotted. Knowing I was about to drive all the way to Cape May, New Jersey on vacation and back again, my mechanic stated he couldn't let me make the trip on those tires. He said I would definitely have a blow out. That's where the problem began. I had just brought the car from the dealership service department. I have always taken my car there for service ever since I bought the car there. I trusted them and was always satisfied with their service and staff. This was the first complaint that I ever experienced with them. If I ended up with a flat tire while driving locally I wouldn't be as mad as I was. The fact that I purposely took the car in to make certain that it was travel worthy like I do every year before I leave on vacation is what really made me mad. All I could think of was having a blowout travelling at 75 mph on the New York State Thruway or the Garden State Parkway. That would have been catastrophic if not fatal. If I survived it, it would have been very expensive. The part that really got me angry was whoever the mechanic was that conducted the multi point inspection checked off on the checklist that the tires were not inspected. He should have inspected the tires while he was conducting the inspection. He had to remove all four wheels to complete the tire rotation. So he should have seen the tires then. Plus he had to take the wheels off of the car to inspect the brakes. Plus he had to put the wheel;s back on the car. So even if he wasn't purposely looking at the tires he still should have noticed it. Finally, it's beyond me how a mechanic can conduct a multi point vehicle inspection and NOT INSPECT the wheels. I returned to the dealership service department two days later and spoke to Mr. Rivas. He informed me that he felt that my review was a reflection on him. I explained to him that it was not. I informed him that I did not have any complaint with him or the help he provided. I told him that my complaint was about the mechanic's neglect to properly inspect my car which could have resulted in the loss of life or serious physical injury. I would also state that it is not Mr. Rivas' job to micro manage the mechanic. I don't know to what degree any corrective action was taken but I certainly hope they sent the mechanic back for some in depth basic training.
