Exceeded my expectations. My beloved Ford focus was recently totaled and I found myself in the unfortunate position of having to purchase a replacement car. I personally My beloved Ford focus was recently totaled and I found myself in the unfortunate position of having to purchase a replacement car. I personally consider purchasing a car just slightly above the process of sticking my hand in a running blender. I am a "Ford guy" so I knew that I was looking for a replacement Ford. I visited two dealerships in southern New Hampshire and made the decision to purchase a Ford Fusion. I understand the difference between a good value and the lowest price. I want to receive the most possible years and miles of service for my car purchase dollar. Looking at used vehicles compared to new vehicles I did not feel that the amount of savings offset the amount of miles that were already on the used car options. Portsmouth Used Car Center had what appeared to be "Used" cars there were practically brand-new. When I say brand-new I mean this model year with less than 100 miles. When I visited the dealership I was greeted by Derek Hurley. He was pleasant and helpful. At no point did he ask me any of the questions that I expect from a car salesman and generally result in an uncontrollable eye twitch. He simply asked me what I was looking for and how we could help me. He was perfectly willing to take the time to review all of their available options without any pressure whatsoever. He helped me narrow down my potential choices to a small handful of vehicles. He did not pressure me to make a purchase. I asked Derek to offer me any plausible explanation as to how they can have all of these seemingly brand-new cars as used. He offered me a number of explanations that made perfect sense to me. I decided to provide him with a deposit on one of the vehicles and told him I would get back to them the following day after taking time to discuss the matter with my wife and pray on the decision. He assisted me with that process and never made me feel pressured. The following day I contacted Derek and told him that I wanted to proceed forward with the purchase and that if at all possible I would like to pick up the car later that evening. He made sure that the car was completely prepped, thoroughly inspected, and was waiting for me when I got there. All of the paperwork was prepared and the entire process took less than 10 minutes once I arrived. I am totally pleased with the buying experience in the value. I purchased a "used" current model year (2015) Ford Fusion with 36 miles on it. I purchased the vehicle for thousands of dollars less than the sticker price at the other Ford dealers that I reviewed. On top of that I got some extra features that I would not have gotten if I had purchased new. BTW.... When I called Sirius Radio to transfer my subscription for my total vehicle to the new one they offhandedly mentioned that my car was originally ordered by Enterprise. It would seem that it is not uncommon for car rental agencies and large corporations to order fleet vehicles from Ford and auction them back with little or no use. I would recommend that anyone that is interested in purchasing a new or used Ford vehicle give serious consideration to making their purchase from Derek and the folks at Portsmouth Used Car Center.
