had a steering issue during a blizzard. Portland Volvo told me to bring my car right in and although they were closing at noon they would be willing to check it out. My daughter had an old Volvo and used their services several times. She spoke highly of them. We also bought a Volvo there a few years ago and were very pleased with all aspects of their service.I just drove the car 200 miles and the steering is fine!! More

I've been coming to Portland Volvo for 20 years. So I left with a great deal on a used SAAB. I've never had a bad experienced at Portland Volvo / SAAB. Once my 850 was making a loud noise from the exhaust and a national muffler company told me I needed a whole new system. Took it to Portland Volvo and it needed a .39 clamp. that's what you get! More

Just bought a new car from Portland Volvo (Volvo S60) and they were absolutely phenomenal! We comparison shopped at a local Audi dealership (only had 1 model of the type of car we were considering though we they were absolutely phenomenal! We comparison shopped at a local Audi dealership (only had 1 model of the type of car we were considering though website listed at least 5 in stock..) and a local Infiniti dealership (good selection but played games w/ trade in value -- see below). Portland Volvo had the exact model I wanted in stock and they also had other options available in case I wanted a different color or if I wanted to upgrade (or downgrade for that matter). The PV website has a link to AutoTrader.com and that was very useful; my '05 Pacifica came in between $8600 and $8900 for a trade in value and PV offered me $8734 after driving it and having the service dept. take a look at it -- we were pleasantly surprised that there were no games involved (Infiniti offered $7000 then when we objected they "made some calls" and came in w/ $8000 -- grrr). Before visiting I had spoken w/ Heath Lovley who was very helpful. When we arrived Heath had another customer he was working with so Cary Smart helped us and he was very helpful as well. Great knowledge of the vehicle and encouraged me to really drive the car (residential, highway, corners, etc.) The car is very sophisticated in terms of technology so Cary went through the whole car w/ me and really helped ALOT! James was extremely helpful w/ all of the paperwork and financing options. They had made a mistake on the price and our payments should have gone up but they honored their original quote on payments, again, very refreshing. I would really recommend this dealership -- no haggling on prices or trade-ins which, for me, is the worst part of buying a car. And I should also mention that we have a 6 year old who was very patient the whole afternoon thanks to Barkley, the dealership mascot (Golden Retriever) -- he was a lifesaver! Thanks PV! More

Overall, my experience at Portland Volvo was fantastic and exceeded expectations; I highly recommend the dealership for sales and service. I was looking for a hard-to-find used V50 T5 with manual transmis and exceeded expectations; I highly recommend the dealership for sales and service. I was looking for a hard-to-find used V50 T5 with manual transmission early in the summer, when seemingly none could be found locally or nationally. Cary Smart was my salesperson, and promised to keep me on "the list" should one come in locally. To my (and his) amazement, a manual V50 T5 had arrived in local trade, so he phoned me and advised that with a refundable deposit I could have first right of refusal on the car. I made the trip in to test drive, took a night to consider my other car options, and returned the next day to complete the paperwork. The financing process was simple and straight-forward, with fairly competitive rates and fees. The wagon did require a final piece of service work before the dealership would release it to me, so I was given a free loaner until the car was ready the next day. Overall the process was simple, pressure-free, and Cary's deep knowledge of Volvos and successful history at Portland Volvo set apart this from other dealerships. When returning for service work and to order parts, Bryan Woodworth and David Cleveland clearly conveyed expectations, explained the service work, advised quotes and pricing, provided loaners, and schedule service when convenient for me.
