Shopping on the internet for a 2007 Porsche Cayman S, I came across Auto Gallery's ad in AutoTrader.com. This car had been on my saved list for over a month. This was February 2010. The price I originally came across Auto Gallery's ad in AutoTrader.com. This car had been on my saved list for over a month. This was February 2010. The price I originally had it listed at was $43999, but just recently dropped it to $39999. That was a big drop and it had the color, Lapis Blue, and the low miles, 19049, that I was looking for. Problem was, I had a $38K budget. That is what the credit union had me approved for. I called about the car and spoke directly to David Lang, he said he was the internet and sales manager. I offered $35K, because I knew sales tax and license was another 10%. He thought about it for less than a minute and said YES! Everything to this point was fantastic. Once the dealer and my CU got together over the numbers, I was OK'd to come pick up the car. I'm in San Diego and I was originally going to LA on the train, with AG picking me up, but I missed the train. Plan B was to rent a car that we could drop off one-way. Though we left with plenty of time, it was a stormy day in So. Cal. and traffic in LA was at it's worst. We arrived at the dealer an hour after they had closed, David Lang and the Finance person were the only ones there. We had a 5 minute review of the car. I didn't bother to start it or drive it. It was still raining steadily and I've driven these cars multiple times. I said OK and we quickly ran through the paperwork. This is when things started going downhill. First the second set of keys were missing. David Lang assured me, they are in the shop, but since everything is closed right now, he'd mail them. They never showed and after multiple calls, I was told to take my car to my local Porsche dealer, Pioneer Porsche-San Diego. He said they would bill him and he'd take care of it. I took my car to Pioneer, they did some warranty work and my key. They called David Lang to confirm it first. I then get a call June 18 from Mark Smith, GM at Pioneer. He tells me Auto Gallery has not paid them for the key and David Lang was not returning calls. I left messages on David Lang's phone, then asked to talk to the GM at Auto Gallery. I never talked to the GM, but did talk to Eric Schwartz, who apologized to the inconvenience and told me they don't normally work that way, unprofessional. Eric Schwartz then promised me a free oil change for my Cayman ($300 value I think). So he's cool, but David Lang doesn't keep his promises. I was also missing my front bumper tow plug and was told by David Lang they would paint one and send it to me by mail. Again, many calls and excuses later, I told him to just send me the unpainted part and I will paint it. I also complained to David Lang that my front bumper wasn't polished correctly, he said to get a local detailer to do the work and he'd pay for it. I know this detailer never got paid by David Lang and I paid him myself. More
Attempted to buy a new Porsche C4S Cabriolet, the internet sales person, David Lang was just a mean and nasty person. He was very demeaning and insuinated that I could not close the deal. Well, it en internet sales person, David Lang was just a mean and nasty person. He was very demeaning and insuinated that I could not close the deal. Well, it ended up, the car he was trying to sell me was new, but the entire exterior (paint) was badly damaged (but was difficult to see in natrual light) and needed serious cosmetic attention. He offered me a paltry $500 for the detail work- this was more like a full color sanding, then a new clear coat- about $2K. In the meantime, David was just a jerk- I asked for a quote on a Turbo and he shrugged off that he can give me $2K only. I walked and bought a new C4 cab from Pioneer Centres in San diego, $20K off. I saw Auto Gallery's C4S a few months later on eBay and they were discounting significantly mre than they were willing to give me... More
The Auto Gallery in Woodland Hills isn't your 'typical' car dealership filled with middle aged men speaking broken English. They don't have a fancy showroom and are currently operating out of a trailer unt car dealership filled with middle aged men speaking broken English. They don't have a fancy showroom and are currently operating out of a trailer until the showroom is built in 2010. What they do offer is a friendly stafff of young gentlemen who know their cars, and understand how to treat their clients. I was treated with respect and my salesperson listened to my needs instead of trying to just sell me any car. It was a quick and painless transaction, the price fit in my budget, the car wasn't the exact color I wanted but it worked. I went in a few weeks later to service my vehicle and was treated exceptionally in that department as well. I get an Audi loaner everytime I service my car.....In a nutshell, if you want an Audi or Porsche, this is the dealer you want to visit. More
Just purchased a Bosxter from Auto gallery. Can't say enough good things about my experience dealing with Mr. Lang. He was very professional from the first phone call. Very up front and open with costs enough good things about my experience dealing with Mr. Lang. He was very professional from the first phone call. Very up front and open with costs and all numbers. Honest and helpful, he even spoke to my accountant about setting up the car deal. When we picked up the car, the great service continued. Their finance person was great and fast. Then Mario came out and gve us an hour long orientation on all the features and controls of the car. Never had such a great experience buying a car. The folks at the Auto Gallery have their act together. This is what buying a luxury car should be like! More
