I ordered and purchased a new Porsche from Porsche Southpoint in May and wanted to document my experience as it far exceeded my expectations in every way. Porsche Southpoint is over 200 miles away from me and I will certainly be doing business with them again despite having over 10 dealers closer to me. I worked with Edwin Kratzat and from the time I contacted him, to the time I picked up my car 7 months later he, as well as the entire staff, took car of any questions and concerns I had during the whole process of such a big purchase. Edwin was transparent from the beginning about the process, and went above and beyond to ensure I got the allocation I was searching for. I cannot say that about the multiple other dealers, closer to me, that I tried working with prior to contacting Edwin. He got an allocation for me in less than a week what other dealers couldn’t do in over 3 months. All why being infinitely more transparent about what I could expect and honoring the verbal agreements that inevitably have to be made on price prior to getting the car built. I’ve never had car purchase go so easy. A week after my delivery I flew to Raleigh to pick up my other car that I left with them. But I flew in on a day the dealership was closed (stupid mistake on my part) and my truck was behind the security gates that are locked after hours and on Sunday. I thought I was stuck! No problem though. I texted Edwin (who was out of town on vacation) and he made a few calls and one of the technicians came out on his day off and unlocked the gate for me. Like I said, the staff went above and beyond in every way. In my experience with the other dealers and sales associates near me, Honesty, Competency, and the possession of passion in a brand that compels that same passion from its customers are three traits that are hard to find together in one place. Edwin and the Porsche Southpoint staff displayed all three of those traits, which is what made them different and the main reason why I’ll be coming back. I’ve had my dream car for about 5 months now, and I couldn’t be happier. Thanks again Edwin and all the staff at Southpoint for making it happen. Dustin More

Walked into this dealership on 9/11/21 looking to buy a Panamera after having an already unpleasant experience with two other dealerships in the state two weeks prior. I’d like to think of myself as an easier customer to deal with as I pretty much knew what I was looking for down to the trim. The first thing I made known to the Salesman was my unpleasant experience with the other dealerships as a potential customer, I made the drive from Greensboro with my family as my wife knows this has been a purchase I have been patiently waiting to make. We get an initial better experience, we get shown some used models, go into the design studio to look at options, all the things I didn’t get the pleasure of being introduced to in the last two experiences. I was asked by the rep to send an email with my configurator builds that were previously done at the direction of a sales rep at a different location so that he has an idea of what I want, I am then told that I would be contacted about a model that was not yet ready to be sold but that I would be sent a build list so I can see what this model comes with. I do my part and send the email the very next day. I was told I would be contacted on Monday (9/13) with the build list, Wednesday rolls around and I get nothing. No response to my email, no confirmation of receipt, nothing. I wait another day or two before I send a follow up email, the next day I call and get someone on the line. I ask for the rep and was told he was with a client (Totally understandable) and that he would return my call in 20 minutes. Another week goes by, I never received that call, I never received a response to my email either. My wife says maybe something family oriented happened (totally understandable) I call the dealership on 9/21, speak to someone and let them know I’m trying to get in touch with this rep, this time I’m asked what it’s in regards to and it throws me off a bit but I proceed explaining that I have been trying to get in touch with this person for several weeks and not getting any responses, she gets him on the line and instantly I’m met with an apology and explanation. At this point I’m not pleased with the lack of communication but the rep lets me know the vehicle I was set to get a build list for is still not ready. I totally understand but would have been nice to be updated without so much work on just my end. We then discuss the receipt of my email from 9/12, discuss more specs, The rep then asks for me to send an email with the preferred wheels I want and then tells me that he will reach out to a colleague before they leave for the day to get me a build list on several cars in inventory and he will send them to me. I ask if he has my number and then proceeded to give it to him just in case. I finally send the email with the wheels that very same day, I then send an email the next day (9/22) asking him to confirm he received it. I then waited a few days to see if it would be a repeat experience which it was. Emailed the rep on 9/28 letting him know I haven’t heard from him and to confirm he received my email. As of this writing 10/15 I have yet to hear from him via phone or email. It’s already disheartening to go through this more than once but to explain my prior experiences to only go through it once more just makes me lose confidence in receiving good customer service from Porsche. I never in my life had to work so hard trying to get people to take my money but here I am, I’m already sold on the car and the brand, this is a fairly easy purchase in my eyes. I agreed that I would just make an online purchase through another channel and have the car shipped once I find what I’m looking for, the stress of this car “Hunt” has caused me to take a break from searching for now. I’m not sure what the issue is at the end of the day, could it be that I don’t look the part? Because I’m wearing sneakers and shorts and a baseball hat? Maybe it’s the type of car I pull into the parking lot driving that’s paid for. I don’t really have an answer for what it is. I’m a Financial Advisor who wears a suit Monday - Friday so any chance I get during the weekends to dress as relaxed as possible I will and at the same time still be presentable. I know this was a long review but I felt it was necessary to share my experience as it’s changed my perspective of Porsche. Hopefully going forward no one else has an experience like mine. More
