My wife brought her vehicle in because the engine was making horrible sound and misfiring. "Luckily" for her, this Porsche dealership was only 10 min away. They were able to take her car immediately th making horrible sound and misfiring. "Luckily" for her, this Porsche dealership was only 10 min away. They were able to take her car immediately that afternoon, which was great. Her car has 30k miles on it and is still under warranty. The first diagnosis we were told by Aaron was that the spark plugs were improperly installed. She just had them recently replaced at another Porsche dealership. We got a video sent to us showing us a "damaged" spark plug. The spark plugs were replaced and the test showed that there were still misfires. The next step was to pressure test and replace the injector. There were misfires on 1, 3, 5 and 6. Aaron told us that they needed to have the injectors shipped, so we waited for them to arrive. However, in the video sent, Jonathan, the tech says they had 1 injector in stock, so they only replaced 1 and then tested. This is not the same as what Aaron told us. After the test, there were still misfires and now there was "dark oil" in the cylinders and on the spark plugs. These were not present when the car was brought in nor were they present in Jonathan's first video. We were told that another pressure test had to be performed and they were still trying to figure out what is going on. Finally, we got a call from Aaron telling us that they've been in touch with "Germany" throughout the entire process. That was one reason he mentioned was causing this process to take so long. "Germany" told them to test the gas and it turns out it was contaminated. However, in Jonathan's video, he mentions that he and his foreman, at the last minute, they both decided to check to see if the fuel was the problem. Again, not the same as what Aaron told us. Aaron told us that we would need to replace all the injectors, new spark plugs, the engine would need to be removed, the gas tank removed and cleaned as part of removing and replacing the fuel. He gave us a verbal quote of $7k to do this. I contested that it is more simple to remove to fuel than what he described and new injectors were not necessary. He said, even if the injectors did not need to be replace, the engine would need to be removed since the only way to get gas out of the gas tank was to remove the entire gas tank. I contested that the gas tank is in the front of the vehicle and it did not need to be removed and the fuel line could be removed and gas drained out from there instead of removing the entire gas tank. We waited over a week for the fuel to be removed. Aaron told us that they need a barrel to dispose of the fuel and they were waiting for their private provider to deliver it. So, the vehicle sat there without being worked on for a week. Once the barrel arrived, it took an additional two days before the new fuel could be placed and the vehicle could be tested. Aaron could not give us a reason for this delay. No new injectors were installed. We were told the vehicle passed the test and we could pick up the vehicle. At no time were we given a written estimate and I ended up asking for it. Part of the approx $5k estimate showed a single line item for removing the fuel and 12 hours of labor. I asked Aaron to give me the breakdown for the 12 hours of labor and he wrote a description of work that does not add up to 12 hours of work. He also insisted that the fuel tank had to be removed and the inside of it cleaned. We were also charged for 22 spark plugs, which I have no idea how they came up with that number. The cost should have been much less since 6 fuel injectors is approx $2k, not including labor. All in all, the vehicle was in their shop 3 weeks and 2 days, when it should not have been that long. No written estimate though he claims to have spoken to my wife about a secondary estimate, which is untrue. Aaron is a very polite person, but with all the inconsistencies, he cannot be trusted. More
